I like looking at how the diminishing snow cover sets up everchanging patterns in the fields. Things will change again tomorrow.....spring is not quite here yet.....more snow is coming over night!
So little time,
Try to understand that I'm,
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game,
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody's changing,
And I don't feel the same..
You're gone from here
Soon you will disappear
Fading into beautiful light
'Cause everybody's changing
And I don't feel right ....

Countdown Day #29
The visitor to Alaska can't have a complete trip, in my opinion, without seeing the one thing that says loud & clear ... this is Alaska! I'm talking about a visit to Denali National Park and getting a view, if you're one of the lucky ones, of Denali (aka Mt. McKinley). The super lucky even get to see the mountain in al of its glory - without even the slightest bit of clouds on the horizon. We have been fortunate, as is proof in this image. When one visits and doesn't get to see the mountain view (more the rule than the exception), you don't know what you're missing. That is, until you do see it one day. It's a sight that you'll neither ever forget - nor ever get tired of. I still literally get chills when I see it each year.
This mountain is so high, so big, and so impressive that you can get views like this from many miles away. the first year that we visited AK, we took a flightseeing trip over the summit of Denali and it literally looked like you could drag your fingers into the snow right outside your window. Of course, in reality, the mountain, its peaks, and glaciers are miles away even at that point. It truly is a sight to see.
Each year, now going back for our 7th year in a row, we always visit somewhere new, do something different, and learn new things. One thing that never changes is my desire to return to Denali - for both the landscapes like this, but also for the assortment of wildlife living within its boundaries and most certainly outside of them as well.
Can't wait to return! Thanks for stopping by to view and especially for all of your thoughts and comments.

Something you don't see anymore: a train with a caboose. Lots to see here besides the train w/caboose: all of the engines in the background (3 full tracks) are stored; not needed, Intermodal containers are stacked like big blocks in the background, two other cabooses are in the background middle & right, and the everchanging Minneapolis skyline as evidenced by two new skyscrapers with cranes on the tops. This BNSF yard stretches from University Ave in the far background north to I694; a distance of about 3 miles. You don't have to wait long to see a train (or two); my kind of place.
Fading.

This everchanging scene in our Vancouver areas goes from rain to sunset so often, but usually with threatening storm clouds and often with mist, as with this view over the city which is due to the continuous dampness from rain and a nearby stream.

Spent the day at the beach the day before yesterday.....it was a day of glorious clouds. I will have to upload more shots of them, as they were everchanging. I will definitely find one that I won't change, but this one cried out to me to enhance it. Hope you like it.

Cloud Suite (lyrics and music by David Gates. From the Album Goodbye Girl)
See the clouds adrift so far below
Everchanging as they come and go
Makes me wonder why I'm up so high
When really I am down so low
Of all the wonders I was one allowed
I think that I would always choose a cloud
Always brings my feelings right out loud
Whether I'm ashamed or proud
On this airplane comin' home to you
Sometimes I think I've flown my whole
life through
My whole life... through
As I wing my way to you
See the clouds they're giving life below
In colors that the canvas cannot show
Keeping secrets no one else could know
For I'm the one who told them so
Now and then I get up close to you
I'd like to stay but I'm just passing through
So I'll have to say goodbye...
Until next time I fly.
(interlude)
Make my bed-light the light
Comin' in on the midnight flight
Touch the ground and soon you will be
Safe inside reality
Change your mind-change your name
Still the music it sounds the same
Rainfall don't bother me at all
You see the world reflected on the highway
Come on rainbow-I can't let you go
Before I reach the end of you someway
So the next time raindrops fall
If it makes you climb the walls just think
of green.

here are the lovely lyrics for this song
"In the darkness where you’re hiding
Let me be your guiding star
Let my smiles and my laughter
Lift you up and take you far
CHORUS: Step out of the shadows
Step into your dreams
Look into tomorrow
Hear the nightingale sing
I can hear the aching silence
I can see how deep you’ve gone
As the darkness folds around you
Pulling you forever on
CHORUS
Let my song pierce through the silence
Let its warmth cut through the cold
Let its joy drive back the anguish
Let your battered wings unfold
CHORUS
In the stillness and the silence
Let me be the breath of air
That lifts you up and sets you soaring
Ever higher if you dare
CHORUS
And as the morning light awakens
You remember how to sing
Let the shadows fall behind you
As you race the sun with windswept wings
CHORUS 2x
Hear the nightingale sing
Hear the nightingale sing"

Ata outra vida.
----------------------------------
Among the stones of this abandoned cemetery only the roots of the grass that didn't grow remain. Along the paths among the graves only time moves on, slowly, while it used to fly away.
Collapsed roofs don't protect from cold anymore, they can't help us being wet because of the rain. In exchange, watching the everchanging skies is a beautiful but short reward.
In the meantime, your body appears in these ruins, as the ones of whatever there used to be between us some time ago. Your feet caress these grounds and wind gives those caresses back to the most forgotten corners of your skin.
There you are until you're past. Until only the memories of what it no longer is remain. Until tears water the face of the one who used to wipe yours away. Until another life.

Opportunity... Such as what is presented here. SCFE and USSC have never seen such a drastic change in operations before. From motive power to system upgrades, the past couple years on this railroad have been everchanging, and I'm happy to have been able to document the majority of it. Times like these don't come around very often.

I AM SENDING ALL MY FRIENDS A BIG STARLISA CHRISTMAS EVE HUG to help get you through the day!
We had another beautiful day in Trout Lake and the Gorge! I even got some great photos before and between my jobs of sunrise in Trout Lake, lenticular clouds over Mt. Adams, and sunset in the Gorge... lovely everchanging day with lennies... that must mean we are gonna get more snow soon perhaps. ;
and you know what else? You don't need presents to be happy!
I moved it forward because i am hugging you again on Christmas Day... you all help me get thru the sad times
You are greeted at the Chicago O'Hare Airport with a neon psychedelic moving walkway/airwalk. The everchanging red, green, purple, blue, orange and yellow colors offer a light show to be enjoyed by all. This is called Sky's The Limit and it was created by Canadian artist Michael Hayden 1987.
This was one of those days where the scenery never stood still. Storm clouds would roll in, then blues skies would follow. They kept switching, going back and forth. With so much shore and scenery here. We got alot of great images. We never did get rained on though :)
I really like when conditions are constantly changing. Makes for a great challenge of how to capture what we are seeing. There were a few times that were somewhat frustrating. Which made the images that came out great, that much more rewarding.
Minnesota is not on many peoples, come see lists.. For something different though. Lake Superior is quite the site to see. Lake Superior has a surface area of 31,820 square miles (82,413 km2)[1], which is approximately the size of South Carolina. It is huge! There are a few times in the year when people come up to surf the waves on this lake. Superior also has some of the best clear water wreck diving in the world and is quite amazing during the fall.
One thing I want to point out about this image is the orangish/brownish water is from the spring run-off from the hills. There was a ton of rain right before we showed up. We went and shot Gooseberry falls and the falls are brown right now. I actually really like what it has brought to these shorefront images.
Some Lake Superior facts for those that want to know.
Surface Area: 31,820 square miles
Water Volume: 2,934 cubic miles of water
Shoreline length: 2,726 miles (including islands)
Population living around the lake: 474,150 (Unites States) 155,675 (Canada)
Land use near the lake: 68 percent forest
Mineral rich area: iron, gold, silver, copper, zinc
Gemstone rich: agates, amethyst, greenstone, thomsonite and even some diamonds

Not just another 'sandscape' on the beach...love the elegant curves. View On Black
This was taken on a wharf, where they deposit sand from all over, like from the dredged harbour, winning sand from wherever they can.
It is brought here, managed by huge bulldozers and special cranes. When sand is needed, like for 'refreshing' beaches or 'pumping' them up after an erosive winter or constructions of any kind, the massive trucks roll in. Here, it is on the East side of Ostend on the Belgian Coast, enormous works going on. I am going to write a blog about the dangers...
I got into big trouble... in quicksand. We're fine now.
You aren't really allowed in. There are warnings!
More later.... magdaindigo.blogspot.com/2010/04/living-dangerously.html
I always found it a fascinating place, everchanging always full of interest.
Hope your day is bright and thanx for visiting, Magda (*_*)

The everchanging light reflected off the Stainless steel cladding of Frank Gehrys Walt Disney Concert Hall
Mechanical and functional requirements worked out between TBS and Citizen シチズン Watch Company, Tokyo.
Developer: TBS Tokyo Broadcasting System, Akasaka, Tokyo
Date: Installed December, 1992.
Hundertwasser comment about the work:
This monument is a token, a landmark serving as an ambassador for a peace treaty between men and nature. (...) A consciousness of eternal cycles in harmony with nature and human creation becomes vital, just as timeless constant values, the knowledge of the cosmos where no up and no down exists, no right and no left. It is not the time, which is important but the cycle which develops in organical, beautiful form. Time should create new life, slowly, in spiral form, vegetativ and creative. Time should not destroy past time, should not create last panic before the time of tomorrow. The idea of counting time is a human misleading idea, an invention like the straight line, but there is only eternity developing in an organical cycle. (...) The same water is permanently flowing through the purification plant. The way of the water through the roots of the plants takes about 1 hour. The roots of these waterplants are producing oxygen and are turning what we call dirt into plant substance. We become witness of a permanent purification and renewal process in harmony with the laws of nature. (excerpt from Hundertwasser's text of August 1992) (from: Hundertwasser 1928-2000, Catalogue Raisonné, Vol. 2, Taschen, Cologne, 2002, p. 1261)
Information:
Hundertwasser designed the ecological monument for the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) in commemoration of the company's fiftieth anniversary in 2001. The digital display of a Citizen Clock, which could be read from both sides, counted down the days to the anniversary. The monument was erected on the TBS grounds in Midoriyama/Yokohama in December 1992 and moved to Akasaka in 1994. The accompanying program upon arrival of this event with the theme "Our Beloved Planet, Earth" was focusing on the everchanging Japan, the global environment and mankind. (Source: hundertwasser.com).

I've seen pictures of the tunnel at Chicago O'Hare airport before, and finally got to see it in person today. The lights above the moving walkway and on the walls ripple through the length of the tunnel in an everchanging rainbow of colors, accompanied by the soothing tones of the United Airlines trademark music. It would have been nice to have a tripod, but I was travelling light on a short business trip and only had the camera and 50mm lens.

Taken near the cork kerry border. The boats are probably on the cork side and the mountains on the kerry side. The light was simply gorgeous at this point in the golden hour before sunset everchanging and casting lovely shadows on the mountain and light on the boats I loved the different colours and types of old fishing boats and the way they were all lined up.I used a 2 stop grad over the sky in the first one and an inverted 1 stop over the boats and water. In the second one i used a nd filter as the boats were quite still and got away with a 5 sec exposure,i wasnt crazy about the large shadow on the mountain in the second one but i loved the water.Near ardgroom beara peninsula co cork.View on black.
