XianggongShan at dawn
Cina. September / October 2018.
The mountain of Xianggongshan is one of the karst mountains that line the Li river.
It is very particular and has been formed for thousands of years in different forms over the years.
Thank you so much for your visit and support ..

The everchanging patterns and colours on the Opera House were aweome to see. As you can see there were plenty of people there. Had lunch in the restaurant you can see on the right, very nice!!
Loved seeing this beautiful, ever-changing sky just across the street from my house, at twilight! Lucky me =) Best viewed large!
Image taken on a wild morning on Seacliff beach in East Lothian. I never tire of photographing this place! It's an everchanging composition as the tide comes in and out!
This glass feels like a fence. A filter. Things and thoughts dance.
Lights glitter, everchanging. These are the hearts of the atmosphere we breathe.
While staying in Matera for our 25th anniversary we had a guided hike through the Materan Murgia. The Murgia is a peculiar ecosystem, rough, tough, and unexpectedly rich in biodiversity. A very thin layer of land rests on the underlying calcareous rocks, barely enough to sustain shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers. The only crop one can get there is durum wheat. Yet the Murgia hosts an endless variety of forms of life and the wind brings everchanging scents of wild herbs. I am trying to post a short series of impressions from the Murgia to celebrate this incredible environment while showing the inextricable bond between man and nature in this unique context.

Elysia - Elysium
"Inside your heart,
there is a place of grace and skies of blue.
A destiny untouched and safe, a hideaway for you."

I have gone back to the meanders of the river Adda, a most inspiring location. It is just half an hour drive from home, but my life has grown so busy - especially on Saturdays, in principle the best option for me - that it could be three light years...
The weather forecast was not as favourable as it could have been - a clear sky would not be my favorite for an interesting sunrise session, but I have been longing for it for weeks, so I would have not been so easily deterred. I badly needed a sunrise session at that magic place.
As expected the sunrise itself was quite uninteresting, but I was really glad to be there anyway. The river and the wetlands enclosed by the meanders are a beautiful, enchanted place, shrouded in deep silence and teeming with life. And early in the morning there often are everchanging veils and curls of mist rising from the water and the ground. It is a place where my heart belongs to. From the road I could see misty columns surging from the river to reach for the treetops, almost veiling the rising waning crescent moon and her bright companion Jupiter. I was back into dreamland.
This is simply a re-editing of my previous post, Back into the realm of dreams, just to test the capabilities of Photivo, with only a slight post-processing in The Gimp (mainly a touch of glow).
Driving into Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. As the morning sun came up, was treated to an everchanging picture as the road weaved around these rock formations
Cloud reflections. Lake Kukkia, Luopioinen, Finland. 24.5.2018.
Finnish lake landscapes on windless partly cloudy days are one of my favourite sights. The everchanging cloud formations are beautiful to watch and to shoot photos. I am really excited on these moments and I am always looking for new angles and zooms to catch something that I find beautiful. One "problem" with these water reflections is that camera tend to over darken the reflections when compared to human sight which tend to compensate lighting differences. Here I have done some correction with Lightroom to make the water surface more lighter compared to the sky. The original looked fine to me also. I quess it is a matter of taste whether to use the original camera lighting or do some corrections in Lightroom or Photoshop. Usually I save both versions and probably change my opinions according to different moods.
A pretty end of Sunday sunset on my street! Love the layering of colour & the cloud formation! Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love to watch the everchanging shapes of clouds!

"Barrier Tape" bij Spanish artist SpY (2022).
The 80 meters long work of art, formed from barrier tape, adresses the urban context of NDSM and recalls the everchanging character of this place and the city of Amsterdam.
Never having been on this road and not knowing what to expect, every corner brought new promise of everchanging landscapes.
The Miroir d'eau (Water Mirror) or Miroir des Quais (Quay Mirror) in Bordeaux is the World's largest reflecting pool, covering 3,450 square metres (37,100 sq ft). Water is pumped onto the slabs to form a mirror, it is then drained and misted. The effect of this is an everchanging tableu of light and reflections. I was so fascinated about the pool and the people around it that I decided to capture the scene over several hours. This image was taken at 19:53 and I will post a timeline finishing at 20.25.

It seems most visits to Pentewan Beach offer a totally different landscape. This was taken in December and looks very different to my most recent visit there a couple of weeks ago.

Have I mentioned that I love observing sunrise over sand dunes? The light show is incredible with everchanging warm and cool colors and soft shadows. In this one a single face gets illuminated by yellow-orange glow before sunrise reveling the desert’s bleeding heart.

Sunlight reflecting from the moving parts of 'Transfiguration' by Will Carr.
On first appearance, the sculpture is a slender dash of pure geometry, that is until the wind raises, and its components are set in motion. His is a balletic dance of a sculpture, whose exact configuration is often in flux.
Its graceful motion becomes hypnotic, as the viewer seeks repetition and pattern. And yet, the variables of wind speed and direction ensure the effects of gravity are rarely consistent as the sculpture appears to seek flight. This array of movements suggests purpose and function, achieved through components of the language of abstract sculpture.
What the Artist Says:
“The large kinetic wind sculptures I create explore the relationship of geometry and form interacting in their environment. The natural flows and influences of interactions in our world are demonstrated through the complex geometry and balance of the pieces.
The elegant pieces move in beautiful, mesmerising patterns in the lightest of winds in an everchanging dance.”
Well, I have done it, at last. I have gone back to the meanders of the river Adda, a most inspiring location. I have obtained this picture by blending an exposure bracketing [-2.0/0/+2.0 EV] by luminosity masks in the Gimp.
Light creeps up through the dry grass, stoney paths and surreal torii gates as the breaking dawn illuminates the sleeping town on top of the hill at Kintsugi. As time goes by, changes occur which is inevitable. Life is everchanging and never remaining constant. In the same manner, the quiet island of Kintsungi also has changes bubbling up from time to time. Beautiful corners being revealed one day and then disappearing the next. Former travelers are always surprised at the unexpected sights that behold them for the once more full city of man's creations has now been almost completely overtaken by mother nature.
A little shrine was built with little hokoras to house the multiple guardian spirits that reside within the island. Some plenty have met and were revealed, others who are yet to be discovered or prefer to remain in hiding. There are tales of good fortune, abundant success, never-ending love and a big hopeful embrace for those who take a moment to spend some time reflecting, giving gratitude for their lives and most of all, have a humble heart.

Sunday afternoon spent in Mourne mountains, at the Silent Valley reservoir - such luck with the everchanging light and swiftly moving clouds!
This shot has been taken during one of my sunrise sessions in Rosolina Mare (see my What a meaningful world... for information about that peculiar location).
I was going back home and the sky was animated by an everchanging play of the sun with the clouds. And the bird was there, alone, flying straight away from the rays of sunlight towards the bowels of a dark cloud. The story was set, the actors were playing their roles. I framed without thinking and captured the moment.
I offer this story to all my Flickr friends while saying good bye: I will be away for some weeks - no computer, no internet connection but my phone, so no further uploads for quite a while. I will have a look to your photos when I can and comment how I can (I do not love commenting on the phone since the screen is small and I often need to go back to the photo while commenting and the app is not designed for such operations). Be well, my friends - I will try too... :-)

It looked like that early November morning's efforts were to be wasted, but there always is hope, after all - a lesson we should treasure in those dark times.
This is my favourite location, a peaceful spot downstream the eastern arm of the lake Como, where the river Adda flows in lazy meanders hugging a wetland in the process. Even being so close to a main road and to several towns, this place is so peaceful and remote from the busy life of the world all around it - on very early mornings, at least. An oasis, a secret garden. A somehow mysterious land of silence, light, and everchanging mists. However on that morning there was an unusual hustle and bustle of people running, strolling, photographing - an effect of the long, dark lockdowns. I tried to shoot hoping that a bit of post-processing magic could infuse life in my apparently wasted shots. So here it is this new image of mine, emerging from the flat, almost lifeless five shots of an exposure bracketing, celebrating a deep, amazing truth: the whole can be more beautiful than the sum of its parts. Long, careful work lays behind this seemingly little miracle, of course: you must apply energy to the system in order to increase the level of beauty in the world, against the natural, blind tendency towards ever-increasing universal ugliness (as stated by the 3rd law of beautydynamics). I hope that you enjoy this image and that it can somehow uplift your spirits and foster your own efforts in making beauty and harmony emerge in this dark, troubling world.
I have obtained this picture by blending a 5-exposure bracketing [-2.0/-1.0/0/+1.0/+2.0 EV] by luminosity masks with the Gimp (EXIF data, as usual, refer to the "normal exposure" shot), then I added some final touches with Nik Color Efex Pro 4.

I love it when Tolla reaches out and says.. "Guess what...." I always know it is something new that will be exciting to go and visit.
Romping through Frogmore as it keeps changing is a photographers dream come true. New corners to explore and such... this one is created in the SE corner of the sim.. check it out.. nothing like a rustic day fishing or camping out.

Again a portrait of Beo's everchanging avie. He has the most handsome avie I've ever seen, at every time. Even as a cloud he still keeps his unique style. :)
For 5-7 days every fall the Japanese maple in front of my house puts on a magnificent display of everchanging color. This year's display was no exception. Shot in late afternoon on a very breezy day. Other than some cropping, it's basically untouched. (It's better in lightbox -- press "L" to see.)

Thought it was time for a realistic shot, since I've posted so many processed works lately. This is my favorite place to commune with Nature and get my head on straight. Sometimes in the Fall slash fires enhance the sunset......and this one, from September last year, was particularly beautiful.
Hope you had a lovely weekend, and that the week ahead is full of good things.
