The “2018 HLPF Side Event on Shaping Smarter and More Sustainable Cities: Striving for Sustainable Development Goals" held on 12 July 2018 in New York provided a platform to debate the impact of frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and Internet of Things (IoT) on cities, to present current national and international initiatives such as the United for Smart Sustainable Cities and to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced in shaping smart and sustainable cities at the local level.

With the aim of supporting families fleeing the war in Ukraine, our library has proposed a cooperation between the Nova Hvylja Association and the book’s publisher Móra Publishing House. Together, we published eight stories from Csenge Zalka Virág’s award-winning storybook to provide them to 1,500 Ukrainian refugee families. The collection of folk tales in Ukrainian entitled Ribizli a világ végén [Ribizli at the End of the World], was published in a new Ukrainian edition, with expanded content and renewed illustrations more in line with Ukrainian traditions.

Ukrainian children and their companions took part in the extraordinary book launch upon the courtesy of the association, and the organisers entertained them with fairy tale reading, folk songs and circus performances. Among others, Hungarian actress Nelli Szűcs, Jászai Mari Prize winner, a worthy and distinguished artist of the National Theatre in Budapest, read a story from the book in Ukrainian to the audience.

At the event, Dávid Rózsa, Director General of the NSZL, Liliana Grexa, President of the Association, and Zoltán Fürjes, State Secretariat for Church, Civil Society and Nationality Affairs of the Prime Minister’s Office welcomed the guests. Dávid Rózsa emphasized that the cooperation and support for the good cause came quickly from the participants of the edition. Zoltán Fürjes’ speech focused on fairy tales, ‘the ancient shared tradition that must be rediscovered over and over again’ and ‘which can enchant us and take us out of reality’. The president of the association expressed the hope that the book will remain a lasting memory of Hungary for Ukrainian children.

On October 28, 2019, Commuter Affairs hosted their fifth annual Trunk or Treat event. The Ramapo College community got into the Halloween spirit by decorating 31 cars and handing out candy to local elementary school children. The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life was a co-sponsor.

This spill has such speed and force behind it. It's like and explosion. The surface of the road was slightly wet and very dark, so the milk is vibrant. The carton still being there is also wonderful. Usually this sort of evidence is pointedly absent from the scene.

In the Back BOX, Katherine Fields presents Scratch & Sniff, a solo exhibition of works that combine images of nude women, photographic backgrounds, and synthetic scents to subvert exploitations and push the boundaries of the way we experience art. In the Window BOX, Adrienne Duncan presents New Works, a series of mystical and vibrant paintings that take advantage of the natural light of the window space. In the Upstairs BOX, Las Girls Collective (Daniela Antelo and Brenda Cruz-Wolf) present Landscapes of Feet with Material, a mixed media installation meant to distort the viewer’s reality and question new relationships of landscape and body.

On May 11, 2022, graduates of Ramapo College of New Jersey participated in the time-honored tradition of Arching. As first-year students, they walked up Mansion Road and through the Arch in the beginning of the fall semester. Then, just before they graduate, students walk back down Mansion Road through the Arch to complete their collegiate journey.

Un año más, celebramos nuestro tradicional evento en el Museo del Prado. El encuentro finalizó con un cóctel al aire libre.
