The property on Clifton Road is really quite something. This was part of Tranmere’s first planned estate, The Woodlands. It was laid out during the 1840’s and was regarded as containing Birkenhead’s finest housing for the upper classes. The housing styles are mixed. The nearest property has a rather gothic feel to it with the pointed, stone-dressed windows and the pinnacles on each dormer end. The next building down is rather Italianate with its roof terrace and rather boxy appearance. What wasn’t so desirable was the mass industrialisation of the Wirral waterfront just a few hundred yards away at the bottom of Borough Road. Some stenches made Clifton Road undesirable if the wind was blowing in the wrong direction!

The blossom is really starting to fade now, especially with more recent bad weather.
This shot is one of the last of the blossom in it's prime, this time with some evening light on it.
Alta Lakes, up in the mountains above Telluride in Colorado. A beautiful little part of the world where you can camp for free. I highly recommend it.
Another shot from Saturday evening taken while walking through the fields en route to Gardom's Edge, a simple composition using the 'rule of thirds' to place objects of interest on the intersection of thirds while also using leading lines created by the angle of light and the stones to lead your eye towards the tree.(1/80 f8 @ 12mm 0.6 ND grad filter)
