Celebrations of Krishna Janmashtami (Krishna’s birthday), began in the evening. From dancing and singing, to watching dance performances portraying the life of Krishna, the glory of Sri Krishna was magnified on this night. After midnight Guruji permfomed Puja to Bala Krishna and 54 Bhog's (prasad) were offered. The celebrations lasted till early in the morning!
Krishna Janmashtami took place at Bhakti Marga's main Ashram Shree Peetha Nilaya in Heidenrod-Springen (close to Frankfurt, Germany).

Guys were again fishing and the sun was at the days lowest and I had been playing with H1 on the camera ..learning about evening shooting with all the different sitting on camera ..wish i could find a sitting I am happy with .... way to many things to be done and everyone else was in a hurry could not play long enough

My friend from Jersey meets me this evening & we have dinner and catch up.. He is what one may call an "outlaw" trucker.. A couple log books, dodges scales, runs coast to coast damn near non stop & been doing it for years.. He taught me how to truck actually, I ran with him for a couple years & until I had enough of running like that. I remember calling him one night telling him I was tired & was pulling over, I wasn't gonna make that load on time.. His response was " if you don't think about being tired you won't get tired".. I laughed & pulled the brakes & said I'll talk to ya in the morning.. I had a ton of fun trucking with him & his brothers but I don't miss that style of running at all.. We still joke about that til this day years later.. Lol he said hey I have a truck that needs a driver this evening, I said no thanks but I'll let you know if I run across someone lol.. Jersey to Cali, reload out of Salinas & back to Hunts Point every week like clock work. Chilly evening snapshot. Missed out on the sunset, so I thought I'd catch the moonrise.

The Common Evening-Primrose (Oenothera biennis) usually has its flowers closed during the bright-light of day. But this morning on our bird walk around Centennial Park it was so misty and overcast that the flowers remained open.
This shot of having a relaxing drink sitting in a chair in the yard in the evening is semi-bogus. It was actually midday on an overcast day.
The evening sunlight was simulated with a monoblock in a 11" reflector for more concentrated throw from a high stand about 8 meters (25 feet) to the left. A sheet of CTO was taped over the reflector to warm the light. A flag was placed close to the strobe to crank down the illumination behind the subject. The camera was also on a high stand, triggered by the Pocket Wizard in my left hand.
I went for a subtle effect but could easily have amped it up quite a bit as the strobe was firing at half power here.
What looks like the modern equivalent of the once common tramp steamers slips across the Saint Georges Bay, Grenada, probably en-route to Trinidad silhouetted against the setting sun on a balmy 29th January 2015 evening. Copyright John Whitehouse - all rights reserved
