Clicked at Michigan Lake, Chicago on a wonderful summer evening. A couple of friends and I were taking a stroll along the sea and it was such an amazing experience with the rustling of the waters and the sounds of the seagulls. Though, the waters in the picture look calm and quite and it doesn't show any seagulls, each time I take a look at it, I kind of live the moment once again and it refreshes me up like nothing else.

East Nanjing Street, Shanghai. This is Shanghai's main shopping street, so it's always packed with people. Notice all the cameras? Those aren't tourists. Local Chinese actually frequently walk around the city - especially on weekends - with a camera around their necks. And surprisingly, it's usually a very high-end DSLR (Canon 50D and 7D, or Nikon D300 or D90 seemed to be the most popular choices, for those who care).
Evening Grosbeaks are unexpected visitors to our back-yard feeders. We have had the Black Head variety before but a first for this beautifully patterned bird. These heavy set finches are ferocious seed-crackers in the wintertime, in summer Evening Grosbeaks eat insects such as spruce budworm, a serious forest pest. The grosbeaks are so adept at finding these tiny caterpillars that the birds often provide a first warning that a budworm outbreak has begun.
