This is the yellow satin lining for the evening bag. I am embroidering a message to the recipient upside down inside the top so she can read it when she opens the bag.
I printed it out in Helvetica and measured to see if it filled the space properly. This is the printout hand kerned and pinned to the fabric. Then I traced it on Sulky Printable Water-Soluble Fabri-Solvy, folded it in half and creased it, peeled off the backing and pasted the crease on to the center seam.
Running stitch down the middle of the letters. Then trim away extra Solvy carefully, and dunk fabric in cold water 15 minutes to dissolve embroidery template.

Talk about a gorgeous, moody sunset after the rain this evening over the city! Simply beautiful... A low pressure area was impacting the Bay Area and California with rainy, unsettled weather. A rare chance to visit Kamigamo Shrine at nighttime. Unfortunately (for photographer-me), it was a guided tour. Just when blue hour was its best (for taking a few snaps on the shrine grounds) we entered the inner sanctuaries (no photo). As tripods were not allowed either, it was quite challenging to shoot much.
