In the string sun, the barn was too bright, so I thought I might try my luck with the barn in shadow, and waited a while. Better, but not best! Ah well, a long evening driving round for not much result - but that happens sometimes

The senate square in central Helsinki is dominated by the the Helsinki cathedral. The statue standing in the middle of the square seen to the right here is of Alexander II. He was Russian tsar but also grand duke of Finland and had a statue to him to commemorate that he had given Finland increased autonomy in the mid 19th century - before it diminished again.
This was shot in the evening on a spring evening with the sun slowly disappearing below the horizon and the blue hour just beginning.

You should watch this Large On Black since that brings out more details. My pictures aren't balanced for a white background and a lot of the finer details are lost in this small format.

This was shot in the blue hour by oe of the mosques in the center of Amman. Green is the color of islam so one can often see green near mosque - for instance like here wit hgreen lights in the minaret. Behind you see one of the rolling hills of Amman and all the houses that fill it. You can see more photos from Jordan in my growing Jordan set. You might also like my Blue hour set.

The Night before the Weather Changes from Flat Calm Evening to a Week of Crazy Squalls of Wind and Rain.
On the 16th February 2017 no. 99 7239-9 and 99 7237- share Wernigerode shed with no.199 872-3. Note the dual gauge track which can not be reached since the turnable was replaced a few years ago. With six locos in steam it is always pleasant spending an evening watching the locos return.
