D11556. An evening view from the terrace of Shrigley Hall. Situated in Cheshire just outside the village of Pott Shrigley a few miles north of Macclesfield, Shrigley Hall was once the home of a wealthy Lancashire mill owner who became an MP and High Sheriff of Cheshire.
Built in 1825, it is now a hotel and golf course plus a venue for weddings, conferences and other similar events.

The train ran as follows:
26th August - 1Z40 : Birmingham New Street to Aberdeen
27th August - 1Z40 : Aberdeen to Kyle of Lochalsh
27th August - 1Z45 : Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness
28th August - 1Z40 : Inverness to Birmingham New Street
A fantastic 3-dayer with 40145 in top condition, giving memorable runs up to Kyle, over the Central Highland Line and elsewhere. A great time was had in the two stopover citues of Aberdeen & Inverness.
This, along with the trip with 145 and the Whizzo on another 3-day tour to Cornwall in 2010 were two of the best tours I've done.
As can be seen 19 years ago, tour participants were alowed a liberal amount of wandering at photo stops, albeit not the excess freedom to roam over open lines of the 70s and 80s tours! Fast forward to the current day operations, and we have corridor monitors patrolling windows to ensure people don't venture too close in such a dangerous environment....
A CGAS Port Angeles MH-65C Dolphin II helicopter patrols the evening waters of First Beach near La Push, WA. after a fatal Sitka MH-60T Jayhawk crash claimed the lives of 3 Coast Guardsmen leaving only one in critical condition the night of the accident.
The Jayhawk was flying low from Astoria, OR back to its station in Sitka, AK when it collided with power lines running from the land to the island over the water. Witnesses say the helicopter banked steeply just before striking the lines indicating that the pilot may have seen them too late.
The blades hit first and were torn off while the rest of the helicopter spiraled out of control into the Pacific Ocean surf just West of James Island. Upon impacting the water, the aircraft shredded itself and pieces were strown around the crash site.
Some local Quileute tribesmen took immediate action when the accident occured and rushed out to the crash site in their boats to search for and rescue those involved.

A short TL of a campfire we had. The moon was setting and the sparks were flying, which I thought gave it a cool effect.
I used a very simple and free program called Time Lapse Assembler, then iMove for the finishing touches.

...I think that may actually be a tick in the middle of the flower...I should have squished him. Speaking of creepy bugs, there was a ginormous spider in my backpack on top of my calculator...it scared the crud out of me before my exam on Monday, but one of the guys in my class valiantly came to my rescue and killed it with his A&M flip flop.
