On Wednesday December 4, a new iconic alien from Invader came to invade Paris. So far, nothing very unusual, the French artist installs his works in the streets of the capital since 1996. However, this time, it is 447 tiles 9 m high by 7 m wide that constitute the monumental mosaic of the invader from elsewhere, the largest work of the Street Artist. Entitled PA_1432, in other words the 1432nd tiled work installed in Paris.

Today was wet and dark and I was relegated to backyard birding. Luckily I was visited by a pair of evening grosbeak!
Back out to Columbia Valley this morning and no luck on Mountain Bluebirds but I did find some Evening Grosbeaks. The Grosbeaks were down on the side of the road feeding on either salt, sand or seed. I suspect since they were there for at least an hour it was spilled seed from one of the feed trucks suppling the farms in the area.

BR standard class 9F number 92220 Evening Star is a preserved British steam locomotive completed in 1960. It was the last steam locomotive to be built by British Railways. It was the only British main line steam locomotive earmarked for preservation from the date of construction. It was the 999th locomotive of the whole British Railways Standard range.
Evening Star was recorded hauling passenger express trains at over 90 mph (140 km/h) on its Red Dragon and Capitals United Express runs.

A late first upload today as well, since I've spent much time photographing all the interesting birds in my neighbourhood today too (and finding a brand new species for me and our municipality!) I will show that one tomorrow.
But here is one from the archive:
It was lovely to suddenly be surrounded by a big elephant family, in an open jeep in South Africa - listening to them and studying them for a long time.
