This adventurous newt certainly managed to get out of the pond overnight, but it didn't manage to escape from the birds' raisin bowl where I found it this morning. Of course I returned it promptly to the pond, managing a photo shoot before it slithered away into the depths.
I love going to these remote sand dunes north of Perth. The journey home was interesting...we saw at least 20 kangaroos but thankfully missed them all.

Before I went completely stir crazy, I cut through the wire and escaped. Since the National Trust has generously opened its parks for free, I decided a visit to Kedleston Hall was in order. Social isolation was still order of the day but I went alone and kept at least 20 yards from anyone else. The sun was shining, the daffodils were blooming and the morale of the men was much improved. And it was a true Yorkshire morning out i.e. it cost nowt.
Seriously, preventing the spread of the virus is an important and serious matter, but so is mental health. Being out in the fresh air, taking exercise and enjoying the sunshine lifts the spirits and certainly beats sitting at home counting the walls.

This was taken near the Portland, Oregon airport. We rarely get dramatic skies like this and was able to capture this plane in a location that added to the drama. (Random Stuff 060.jpg)

On Saturday we went to San Francisco to watch the history Solar Impulse solar aircraft fly over the Golden Gate Bridge. We had a nice picnic a Crissy Field. I took this shot of Alcatraz with a tele-zoom lens.

It's a drizzly morning here. I put on my red leather jacket (bought second-hand years ago) and grabbed a small suitcase from the basement (more photogenic than the dirty yellow backpack I usually take travelling) and went out to a country road for a little escapism.
