Entry @ the Smell 9/7/19

Walk constructed with Bluestone patterned flagstone with paver edge.

Needs wallpaper stripped and then repaint

@ Blaustein-See, Eschweiler (Germany)

Guns and flag over a door in the entry hall.

Some tile from the old main entry, still in its place.

The hole in the floor is the stairwell to the garage below.

Main entry; family room directly to the left and opens with french doors to large south-facing deck.

I already took a series of photographs of this place in 2009, but now I want to show you all the new developments at this marvellous place:

Ketan is an artist who set up his home here about 5 years ago. He creates wonderful building structures and art here, and he likes to have good people visiting and fellow artists making this place even better.

One of the entry gates to the walled portion of Dubrovnik.

Some aggressive metal work on these entryway doors turns the sidewalk in front of an Upper East Side townhouse into a light projection field. Matching windows on both sides of the doors means I will be revisiting with my wide angle lens.

Rules

No Harleys in the show.

It aint that we don’t like ‘em, in fact some of us own one or two. It’s just that we think it gives everyone an equal chance. There is a story to this rule, but we aint got time to tell it here.

Thousand bucks build limit.

Nuthin’s changed here. That includes purchase price of your project, all parts, paint and doodads. Judging by the quality of last years entries, that should still be plenty.

You must be able to ride your entry.

We’ve always wanted this to be about usable bikes and four blocks hardly seems like a challenge, so this year we’re all gonna go riding. If you want to enter the show you must complete a two or three hour ride. More details to follow, as we’re still working it out, looks like we're gonna leave around 11am and be back before 3pm.

One month build time.

There has always been some confusion about this, so here it is spelled out. One month before the date of the Dirtbag Challenge we will announce the start, this has become known as the “go” date. If you start your project before this date then you’re obviously a loser. This is why we don’t publish the event date in advance. Of course we have no real way of enforcing this rule so we rely on your honesty, let’s face, it no one likes a cheat. You only have to look at the entries from previous years to see know that this should be quite long enough.

Voting

Only entrants to the show will vote on the winning bikes. We feel that only a Dirtbag can judge a Dirtbag. There will probably also be some type of “peoples choice” award, that visitors to the show will vote on.

The tiny space just inside the front door has a mirrored closet door and a leaded glass window.

Looking towards my front door while a thunderstorm rains down. I shot at f 3.5 and 1.5 seconds exposure time to get the wash of light.

Hello.

I made an entry to the annual Getty Images Video Remix competition called Mishmash.

The idea of the contest was to get footage from Getty Images and make something out of it. And well.. I made something out of it. The music and the footage is from Getty Images.

My entry is called "Automation" and it can be seen & voted in

If you like it, I would appreciate a vote :)

Thank you!
