Pico do Areeiro | Madeira
This really looked like Odin & Thor would wave "Hello" every second... this was a viewpoint in the "Paul do Serra" area, where, with a bit luck and the right weather, you can catch this awesome sight of the mountain-tips breaking through the clouds.

Malerisch umgeben von zwei Armen der Havel liegt die Freundschaftsinsel in der Mitte Potsdams. Berühmt wurde sie durch die 1937 von Karl Foerster angelegten Schau- und Lehrgärten mit mehr als eintausend verschiedenen Stauden und über 250 Schwertliliensorten im Wassergarten. Hier kann man nicht nur bei einen Spaziergang die Natur und Garten genießen, sondern auch zahlreiche Skulpturen gibt es zu entdecken. Nicht zu vergessen das Inselcafé und der große Spielplatz, wo man als Familie den Tag verbringen kann. Die Freundschaftsinsel ist ein kleines Paradies unter den Grünanlagen von Potsdam.

Picturesquely surrounded by two arms of the Havel, Friendship Island lies in the middle of Potsdam. It became famous through the show and teaching gardens created by Karl Foerster in 1937 with more than a thousand different perennials and over 250 varieties of iris in the water garden. Here you can not only enjoy nature and the garden on a walk, but there are also numerous sculptures to discover. Not to forget the island café and the large playground where you can spend the day as a family. Friendhip Island is a small paradise among the green spaces of Potsdam.

Nein nein, nach "Fort Knox" geht's hier nicht. Wenn's auch so aussehen sollte.
Momentan liegt das Gold aber in den Laubbäumen.
Sperber sind an der Bergstrasse nicht so häufig wie andere Greifvögel. Umso mehr habe ich mich gefreut dieses junge Weibchen zu entdecken, welches zur Zeit ihr Revier am Waldrand hinterm Ort gefunden hat. Sie flog am Tag der Aufnahme zweimal an mir vorbei. Zwar mit einigem Abstand aber ansonsten ohne Eile und so konnte ich die junge Dame vor dem Schilf fotografieren. Fast scheint es, als winkt sie mir zu ;-)
Sparrowhawks aren’t as common along the Bergstrasse (south of Hesse, Germany) as other birds of prey. So I was vary happy to spot this young female, who has currently made her home at the edge of the wood behind the village. She flew past me twice on the day the photo was taken. Admittedly, she was some distance away, but otherwise she was in no hurry, so I was able to photograph the young lady against the backdrop of the reeds. It almost seems as if she’s waving at me ;-)

Very likely a female Great Green Bush-cricket (Tettigonia viridissima) displaying a rare yellow colour morph consistent with xanthochroism.
Length (head to wing tip): approx. 8 cm.

Sehr wahrscheinlich ein Weibchen des Grünen Heupferds (Tettigonia viridissima) mit einer seltenen gelben Farbvariante, die mit Xanthochroismus vereinbar ist.
Länge (Kopfspitze bis Flügelspitze): ca. 8 cm.

Wieder einmal unterwegs mit meiner Rolleiflex 3.5F, dieser wunderbaren Maschine mit dem nach fast 60 Jahren immer noch perfekt funktionierenden Selen-Belichtungsmesser. Eine schöne, alte Stadt entdecken durch den magischen Lichtschachtsucher und hin und wieder den Auslöser drücken und den Verschluss beträtigen, dessen Flüstern in den Straßengeräuschen untergeht.

Another little stroll my Rolleiflex 3.5F, this time through the beautiful, old city of Bamberg, Bavaria, seen through the magical waist level finder. Metering the light with a selenium cell, still going strong after almost 60 years, occasionally taking a picture with the leaf shutter, whispering so silently you cannot hear it firing through the ambient noise of the streets.

Das Castillo de la Mota ist eigentlich eine Zisterne in Form einer Burg für eine nie gebaute Urbanisation bei Alhaurín el Grande.
El Castillo de la Mota es en realidad un aljibe con forma de fortaleza, situado en la zona de la Mota en Alhaurín el Grande, pensado para una urbanización, que nunca se construyó.
Meine Rolleiflex aufs Stativ gesetzt und versucht die Belichtung richtig zu treffen.
Nachdem die Negative entwickelt waren, den Scanner angeschmissen und die Scans in Photoshop zusammengesetzt und in Lightroom fertig entwickelt.
Lighning: available light on a cloudy day mixed with a freely held flash.
Light setup: a single Soligor 42DA LCD triggered with cheap PT04 radio triggers.
The flash was freely positioned to enlight the bloom in addition to the naturaly available light.
The camera was placed at a tripod and was triggered by a IR remote.
Manual exposure and manual focus.

Wow, really wished for this sighting and I mean it. The day before I had my 40th birthday and the camp surprised us with a special Sundowner Boma-Fire in the middle of the bush, including a build-up bar, snacks and a birthday cake. :)
The guides asked me to blow out the candle and make a wish. Told the other guests, that we would have a cool sighting if my wish comes true.
Next morning-drive I asked the guide if they actually see cheetahs, but due to the high grass and thick bushes that time of the year they didn't saw cheetahs for the last 2 months. As you can guess by the picture above... 10 minutes into the afternoon-drive our guide got the information, that two cheetahs entered their area.
How lucky was that! :)
