Malerisch umgeben von zwei Armen der Havel liegt die Freundschaftsinsel in der Mitte Potsdams. Berühmt wurde sie durch die 1937 von Karl Foerster angelegten Schau- und Lehrgärten mit mehr als eintausend verschiedenen Stauden und über 250 Schwertliliensorten im Wassergarten. Hier kann man nicht nur bei einen Spaziergang die Natur und Garten genießen, sondern auch zahlreiche Skulpturen gibt es zu entdecken. Nicht zu vergessen das Inselcafé und der große Spielplatz, wo man als Familie den Tag verbringen kann. Die Freundschaftsinsel ist ein kleines Paradies unter den Grünanlagen von Potsdam.

It's amazing how green the northern part of this Island is. Rolling Hills, covered with old, lush green forests. A vegetation that reminds you of that of rainforests.
And ever moving clouds that are driven by the winds over the mountains in the middle, creating nice lights and shadows on the landscape. Just great!

This spider, whose name refers to the golden color of its strong silk, not the color of the spider itself, is common and widespread in Eastern Australia. It is one of Australia's most noticed and photographed spiders because of its large size and its habit of staying in its web during the daytime. The orb of the web is around 1m in diameter, but the golden struts or stay lines may reach up to 6m across. Sometimes these spiders aggregate in loose 'colonies'. This spider is extremely common in gardens, parks, around houses and in suburban and urban bushlands, mostly in coastal regions.
Während unserer Wanderung entlang des Ufers des Lake Tahoe in Kalifornien machten wir immer wieder kleine Abstecher vom Weg, um schöne Ausblicke auf den See zu entdecken. Besonders gut gefiel mir dieser von einer leicht erhöhten Postion.
During our hike along the shoreline of Lake Tahoe in California, we frequently took short detours from the trail to discover beautiful vistas of the lake. I especially liked this spot, which offered a slightly elevated view.

Built in 1486 this abbey in the Eifel region of Germany is idyllically situated at the top of a small mountain with views of the surrounding village of Heimbach. The abbey has a tumultuous past, being captured by the French in the late 18th century and then being shut down by the national socialist regime during the Second World War and being almost completely destroyed during the Ardenne Offensive. Between 1962 and 1964 the abbey was restored and the brewing of trappist beer began again. Today the abbey can be visited by all and also boasts a small restaurant with home made soups and various traditional recipes as well as their own beer.
As you probably notice the setup, especially the POV is the same as in the photo I published the day before yesterday.
Here I closed the aperture to give some strcuture to the background and to grow depth of field. then I used a mix of available light and a flashlight.
The flash gives the "sunny look" of the bloom, the available light illuminates the background.
The flas was handheld and decoupled form the camera, triggered with cheap radio triggers.
