In its 22nd year, the Engineering Expo is the college’s premier community outreach event. On average, the college welcomes more than 1,500 K-12 students from Miami-Dade and Broward County schools (elementary, middle, and high school) to the FIU Engineering Center to engage with FIU student organizations, researchers and staff, and to discover the endless possibilities of pursuing a degree in engineering or computing.
Part 2 of a poster I designed for my final year electrical engineering exhibition outlining the laboratory project I had worked on. Won an award for best final year engineering exhibition poster.

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. - Bringing together the operational expertise of Army noncommissioned officers and the scientific expertise of civilian engineers is key for better capabilities to get to the field faster said the Sgt. Maj. of the Army Daniel A. Dailey during a visit to Fort Belvoir, Virginia Dec. 14.
Dailey was joined by the U.S. Army Materiel Command’s Command Sgt. Maj. James K. Sims and the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command's Command Sgt. Maj. James P. Snyder during a visit to the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Command, or CERDEC, which is the Defense Department lead for the development of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, or C4ISR, technologies.

Future engineers receive their education in international degree programmes at Valkeakoski Campus.
Valkeakoski Campus offers two degree programmes in the field of engineering:
- Degree Programme in Industrial Management and Engineering
- Degree Programme Automation Engineering

The Chattanooga Public Library is introducing a new series of free LiSTEM workshops for summer 2014. LiSTEM is Literacy based learning through STEM concepts: Literacy, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
The Rehabilitative Engineering Workshop is a project-based workshop focused on the adaptation and creation of devices to help problem solve real life challenges.
The workshop instructor was Ezra Reynolds (tie-dye shirt), a design specialist for Signal Centers, who also designed and prototyped a prosthetic cuff for his toddler son, using the Chattanooga Public Library's 3D printer.
Teenagers are introduced to the engineering design process to create specialized equipment that can be used to help others and make a difference.
