Today one of the three eggs was snatched by a magpie.

Then this second egg was also snatched and then dropped.

You can see that the fetus was forming and now only one egg remains in the nest.

An embryo of the frosted flatwoods salamander awaits hatching within its egg capsule. It has reached Harrison developmental stage 43, with well-developed gills, cheek balancers, and noticeable front limb buds. Eggs of the flatwoods salamander are deposited within dry ephemeral pond basins and hatch in response to inundation by rising water levels. Because the timing of inundation is unpredictable, the embryos can hatch at a range of different developmental stages.

New doll just now making!

I love the honest pleasure of simple tools to make a doll. I will try to take more photos of the process this time : )

Embryo of an Anteater

Someone might think they started construction of a 'cairn' by placing four rocks on the path. I tried to stop the project, but was unable to find the original locations of the rocks.(And even if I did, there would have been some damage while they were gone.)

NGC 1333, the Embryo Nebula, is a bright reflective nebula and active star-forming region in the constellation Perseus, located about 1,000 light-years away, and one of the most studied regions of star formation. The nebula was discovered in 1855 by German astronomer Eduard Schönfeld.

It is a young stellar "factory" where stars only 1-2 million years old are actively forming.

More than a hundred protostars, disks, and jets have been discovered here—characteristic features of the early stages of stellar evolution.

Blue hues predominate in the nebula due to the scattering of light from young hot stars on dust.
