"Life is rather a state of embryo, a preparation for life; a man is not completely born till he has passed through death"

~ Benjamin Franklin

I'm not really feeling the inspiration today. I should really go out more.

Notable in the this fetus is an extraembryonic coelom in the umbilical cord. Loops of intestine are seen as a bulge of orange material in the cord near it's attachment to the abdominal wall. These loops will withdraw at arould week 11. If these do not return, the condition is called an omphalocele.

This is one of many photos i took while at the amazingly popular and a SL Photographer's dream sim of EMBRYO's ::RUCOTT:: . This photo was taken in the fall of 2010 when the embryo sim builders group created their beautiful "fall" theme. As anyone that knows this sim will already know, the builders of this sim change it for almost every change of season. So if you dont take photos of their amazing work - you may never see it again except for in photos.

This AUTUMN build was amazing so I had to take photos of it BUT I never got around to actually post processing it until 8 months later. I was inspried to do so as I went thru my unfinished SL photos and this one again caught my eye again. I was going to use one of Pareeerica's awesome new textures but I ended up using two of her textrures that have proven to be so popular for me and useful.

Really there isnt much deep meaning behind this artwork other than the incredible peace and serenity that one gets as you stare into the photoart and imagine being in the deep back woods where a small old traditional 1900's farmhouse was built. the beauty of the autumn colors surrounding the old homestead and the contrasting beauty of the planted red and pink flowers placed there by the owner further adds to the tranquility of the scene. The textures used were to add to the historical age of the photo.

I found a large egg case on the beach (adjacent photo) and cut it open and found these embryonic skates still alive. Each of the four eggs was about 1.5" (4cm) in dia.

Morro Strand State Beach,

Morro Bay, California

"The skates are oviparous (egg layers), with fertilized eggs protected inside leathery rectangular egg cases that are deposited on the sea floor. Developing embryos are nourished through the attached egg yolk and hatch when it is depleted."

"Big skates have the largest egg cases of any California’s skate species, and are the only species to routinely have more than 1 embryo (up to 7) per egg case. They are also the largest skate found in California, growing up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) in length, though they are uncommon over 6 feet (1.8 meters). Maturity in females occurs at a length of 4.3 feet (1.3 meters) and 12 years . . ."-both from CA Dept. of Fish & Game (Wildlife) online
