Decided to take some time out this weekend, to slow down and think about my next craft project/direction. After a busy week I felt I needed it! Hand embroidered lettering on natural linen. 'Smaoineachadh' is Gaelic for 'thinking'! I thought that sitting down quietly and embroidering the word would be therapeutic - it was . . . sort of!!
Ceramic pendant embroidered with swarovski pearls and seed beads. A 15" rope allows the pendant to sit high on the collarbone.
When I bought this remnant it was rolled up and I could only see what looked like the back end of birds. When I got it home and discovered it was not I went ahead and embroidered the birds on there. I'll quilt it up at some point.
An old window I bought for .50 at a thrift store and i'm now filling the fabric panes with bird related embroidery. Progress as of august, 2011.

This blanket was embroidered for an older child to replace a lost baby blanket. Item of interest from her life have been included. There is room to add more as she tries new things.
this is a teensy hanky i made recently; the image is a sour, one of brendan monroe's creations. you can see more of his amazing work at www.brendanmonroe.com. (his is much better than mine, but i loved the sours so much i had to embroider one. or two.)

A simple and sweet nightgown for your Bleuette or crochet Bleuette. I used the link stitch bodice (freely available on my blog at www.byhookbyhand.blogspot.com ) and attached an embroidered batiste skirt to make the nightgown.
The bed is very simply made from a picture frame and wooden turning. There is a tutorial for this here:
A break from trees for a while (well till next week). Flowers embroidered on soluble plastic then applied to background.

I am working on a very special quilt for my Mom and I wanted a special label to go with it. Inspired by my friend Georgia's labels www.flickr.com/photos/georgiamcdonald/3679591633/in/set-7... , I made this. The letters are just under 1/2".... so small. Maybe not the best first project but my Mom will like it cause she's my mom. ;)
