This bright green shrimp lives inside a large Didemnum molle tunicate. I can't find it any of the critter ID books I own, so maybe someone out there can help me get an ID. We did a night dive in Alor, and many of the Didemnum molle tunicates contained critters living inside of them (I saw 2 different shrimps and an amphipod). All of the critters fled from lights, and getting this picture took over half an hour of careful planning and execution. Foi pioneiro na exploração das possibilidades construtivas e plásticas do concreto armado, e por esse motivo teve grande fama nacional e internacional desde a decada de 1940
Seus trabalhos mais conhecidos são os edifícios públicos que projetou para a cidade de Brasília, embora possua um grande corpo de trabalho desde sua graduação pela Escola Nacional de Belas Artes do Rio de Janeiro em 1934.

Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho (15 December 1907 – 5 December 2012), known as Oscar Niemeyer, was a Brazilian architect who is considered one of the key figures in the development of modern architecture. Niemeyer was best known for his design of civic buildings for Brasília, a planned city which became Brazil's capital in 1960, as well as his collaboration with other architects on the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. His exploration of the aesthetic possibilities of reinforced concrete was highly infuential on the architecture of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Both lauded and criticized for being a "sculptor of monuments", Niemeyer was praised for being a great artist and one of the greatest architects of his generation by his supporters. He claimed his architecture was strongly influenced by Le Corbusier, but in an interview, assured that this "didn't prevent [his] architecture from going in a different direction". Niemeyer was most famous for his use of abstract forms and curves that characterize most of his works, and wrote in his memoirs:
“I am not attracted to straight angles or to the straight line, hard and inflexible, created by man. I am attracted to free-flowing, sensual curves. The curves that I find in the mountains of my country, in the sinuousness of its rivers, in the waves of the ocean, and on the body of the beloved woman. Curves make up the entire Universe, the curved Universe of Einstein.”
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Niemeyer was schooled at the city's Escola Nacional de Belas Artes, and after graduating worked at his father's typography house, as well as as a draftsman for local architectural firms. In the 1930s, he interned with Lúcio Costa, with the pair collaborating on the design for the Palácio Gustavo Capanema in Rio de Janeiro. Niemeyer's first major project was the design of a series of buildings for Pampulha, a planned suburb north of Belo Horizonte. His work, especially on the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, received critical acclaim, and drew Niemeyer international attention. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, Niemeyer became one of Brazil's most prolific architects, designing a range of buildings both within the country and overseas. This included the design of the Edifício Copan (a large residential building in São Paulo), and a collaboration with Le Corbusier (and others) on the design of the United Nations Headquarters, which provoked invitations to teach at Yale University and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
In 1956, Niemeyer was invited by Brazil's new president, Juscelino Kubitschek, to design the civic buildings for Brazil's new capital, which was to be built in the centre of the country, far from any existing cities. His designs for the National Congress of Brazil, the Cathedral of Brasília, the Cultural Complex of the Republic, the Palácio da Alvorada, the Palácio do Planalto, and the Supreme Federal Court, all completed by 1960, were largely experimental in nature, and were linked by common design elements. This work led to his appointment as inaugural head of architecture at the University of Brasília, as well as honorary membership of the American Institute of Architects. Due to his largely leftist ideology, and involvement with the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB), Niemeyer left the country after the 1964 military coup, and subsequently opened an office in Paris. He returned to Brazil in 1985, and was awarded the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1988. A socialist and atheist from an early age, Niemeyer had spent time in both Cuba and the Soviet Union during his exile, and on his return served as the PCB's president from 1992 to 1996. Niemeyer continued working well into the early 21st century, notably designing the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum (1996) and the Novo Museu (2002). He died in Rio de Janeiro in December 2012, at the age of 104.

Every day my email box is filled with "fishy" emails. Every day I receive fishy emails like the following:.. Enlarge certain parts of your anatomy....Big hot mama wants to meet you....Cleanse your colon......Long lost relative in Libya has left you 20 million dollars,just send bank account number for transfer...etc. etc.
Now, wanting to be a good citizen I decided to send all of my "fishy" emails to: flag@whitehouse.gov.....now I am not here suggesting that you do this :) ......but gosh it felt good when I clicked on send all......Now, I did not send emails from cousin Jody or Aunt Bertha, who is very worried about her health care if they pass Socialized Medicine. No, those are private and none of Obama's business.
NOTE: This type of program is not with out precedent, Cuba has had an organized Citizens Gestapo in place for decades. I have heard that Castro gives them xtra vouchers for food if the they rat off some one of importance.
The journey likes a sweet dream.which made me understand one truth. Llife is amazing. We can't possess all the beauty in the world . But to appreciate.

On 2 December 2025, I finally got out for a drive, the first one since 28 September 2025. The weather was awful - cold (but not bitterly cold), completely overcast, low visibility, and snowing a lot of the time, thankfully fairly light, but rather ice pellets than big, white snowflakes. Definitely not the best for taking photos. However, my daughter and I had planned an outing, as she had a free day, a very early Christmas get-together. Each year, we celebrate Christmas by going out for the day, looking for birds and wildlife and anything else. Hopefully, she will have another free day between now and the end of December, to go and have a longer look for Snowy Owls.
We started the day by driving south and calling in at the Saskatoon Farm, where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, served by a delightful young lady. Lovely to have a chat with Karen, the main owner of the Farm, and her adult children. Thank you for the cookies, Karen! This family works so hard, as do all the workers at the Farm, both inside and outdoors, year-round, apart from a well-deserved break for a few weeks either side of Christmas. We saw decorations to be photographed, and we loved the huge gnome that had been cleverly constructed mainly from twigs. There are quite a lot of much smaller versions (for sale), but I don't remember ever seeing a giant one like this before.
Took me a while to post any photos from this outing, after I had figured out how to use the tiny SD card reader that I had to buy for my new computer. I guess newer computers no longer come with a CD/DVD slot or a slot for an SD card.
From the Farm, we drove southwards, really to see what the roads were like. The main roads were safe to drive, though there were lots of huge trucks/trailers that splashed all the slush over my car. I resisted the temptation to drive more than one back road this time. Happy to see a couple of Ring-necked Pheasants, though they immediately disappeared into the bushes. Managed a rapid shot in their direction but couldn't actually see them. When I got home, and checked through my photos, I was very surprised to see the back half of one of these birds (male). A distant deer in a snowy field of stubble was nice to see, too. At another location, my daughter spotted a flock of Gray Partridge. They ran across the road ahead of us and into a farmers open yard, giving us a chance to get a couple of distant shots.
An enjoyable few hours, despite the weather. A day out with my daughter is always my favourite kind of day. Thanks, Rachel!
Some of you may have noticed that, unfortunately, owing to the fact that a certain person who sells truck photos on eBay commercially has been lifting my images from this album and selling them I have had to remove 2300 photos that didn't have a watermark. I have now run around 1700 through Lightroom and added a watermark with the intention of bulk uploading them again. Rather than watermark the existing (hidden) files in Flickr one at a time it will be easier to do it this way. I definitely won’t be adding individual tags with the make and model of each vehicle I will just add generic transport tags. Each photo is named after the vehicle and reg in any case. For anyone new to these images there is a chapter and verse explanation below. It is staggering how many times I get asked questions that a quick scan would answer or just as likely I can’t possibly answer – I didn’t take them, but, just to clarify-I do own the copyright- and I do pursue copyright theft.
This is a collection of scanned prints from a collection of photographs taken by the late Jim Taylor A number of years ago I was offered a large number of photographs taken by Jim Taylor, a transport photographer based in Huddersfield. The collection, 30,000 prints, 20,000 negatives – and copyright! – had been offered to me and one of the national transport magazines previously by a friend of Jim's, on behalf of Jim's wife. I initially turned them down, already having over 30,000 of my own prints filed away and taking space up. Several months later the prints were still for sale – at what was, apparently, the going rate. It was a lot of money and I deliberated for quite a while before deciding to buy them. I did however buy them directly from Jim’s wife and she delivered them personally – just to quash the occasional rumour from people who can’t mind their own business. Although some prints were sold elsewhere, particularly the popular big fleet stuff, I should have the negatives, unfortunately they came to me in a random mix, 1200 to a box, without any sort of indexing and as such it would be impossible to match negatives to prints, or, to even find a print of any particular vehicle. I have only ever looked at a handful myself unless I am scanning them. The prints are generally in excellent condition and I initially stored them in a bedroom without ever looking at any of them. In 2006 I built an extension and they had to be well protected from dust and moved a few times. Ultimately my former 6x7 box room office has become their (and my own work’s) permanent home.
I hope to avoid posting images that Jim had not taken his self, however should I inadvertently infringe another photographers copyright, please inform me by email and I will resolve the issue immediately. There are copyright issues with some of the photographs that were sold to me. A Flickr member from Scotland drew my attention to some of his own work amongst the first uploads of Jim’s work. I had a quick look through some of the 30 boxes of prints and decided that for the time being the safest thing for me to do was withdraw the majority of the earlier uploaded scans and deal with the problem – which I did. whilst the vast majority of the prints are Jims, there is a problem defining copyright of some of them, this is something that the seller did not make clear at the time. I am reasonably confident that I have since been successful in identifying Jims own work. His early work consists of many thousands of lustre 6x4 prints which are difficult to scan well, later work is almost entirely 7x5 glossy, much easier to scan. Not all of the prints are pin sharp but I can generally print successfully to A4 from a scan.
You may notice photographs being duplicated in this Album, unfortunately there are multiple copies of many prints (for swapping) and as I have to have a system of archiving and backing up I can only guess - using memory - if I have scanned a print before. The bigger fleets have so many similar vehicles and registration numbers that it is impossible to get it right all of the time. It is easier to scan and process a print than check my files - on three different PC’s - for duplicates. There has not been, nor will there ever be, any intention to knowingly breach anyone else's copyright. I have presented the Jim Taylor collection as exactly that-The Jim Taylor Collection- his work not mine, my own work is quite obviously mine.
Unfortunately, many truck spotters have swapped and traded their work without copyright marking it as theirs. These people never anticipated the ease with which images would be shared online in the future. I would guess that having swapped and traded photos for many years that it is almost impossible to control their future use. Anyone wanting to control the future use of their work would have been well advised to copyright mark their work (as many did) and would be well advised not to post them on photo sharing sites without a watermark as the whole point of these sites is to share the image, it is very easy for those that wish, to lift any image, despite security settings, indeed, Flickr itself, warns you that this is the case. It was this abuse and theft of my material that led me to watermark all of my later uploads. I may yet withdraw non-watermarked photos, I haven’t decided yet. (I did in the end)
To anyone reading the above it will be quite obvious that I can’t provide information regarding specific photos or potential future uploads – I didn’t take them! There are many vehicles that were well known to me as Jim only lived down the road from me (although I didn’t know him), however scanning, titling, tagging and uploading is laborious and time consuming enough, I do however provide a fair amount of information with my own transport (and other) photos. I am aware that there are requests from other Flickr users that are unanswered, I stumble across them months or years after they were posted, this isn’t deliberate. Some weekends one or two “enthusiasts” can add many hundreds of photos as favourites, this pushes requests that are in the comments section ten or twenty pages out of sight and I miss them. I also have notifications switched off, I receive around 50 emails a day through work and I don’t want even more from Flickr. Other requests, like many other things, I just plain forget – no excuses! Uploads of Jim’s photos will be infrequent as it is a boring pastime and I would much rather work on my own output.

O Parque Gran José Antonio Labordeta (oficialment y en castellán Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta) ye un parque d'una superficie d'alto u baixo 40 hectarias d'a ciudat de Zaragoza (Aragón), situato en o districto Universidat. Durant quasi un sieglo estió o parque más gran d'a ciudat, dica a construcción en 2008 d'o Parque de l'Augua Luis Buñuel con motivo d'a Expo Zaragoza 2008.
Dica setiembre de 2010 o parque se clamó oficialment de Primo de Rivera y popularment como Parque Gran (Parque Grande en castellán), pero a clamor popular a la muerte de José Antonio Labordeta provocó o cambeyo d'o suyo nombre.

El Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta es un parque de 40 hectáreas de la ciudad de Zaragoza (Aragón), situado en el distrito Universidad. Durante casi un siglo fue el parque más grande de la ciudad, hasta la construcción en el año 2008 del Parque del Agua Luis Buñuel con motivo de la Expo Zaragoza 2008.
Hasta septiembre de 2010 el parque oficialmente se denominó de Primo de Rivera y popularmente como Parque Grande, pero el clamor popular tras el fallecimiento del cantautor y político José Antonio Labordeta provocó el cambio de nombre.
El Parque se inauguró el día 17 de mayo de 1929, en el periodo de la dictadura de Miguel Primo de Rivera, estando entonces situado a las afueras del núcleo urbano de Zaragoza, ciudad que entonces apenas superaba los 160.000 habitantes.
Debido al crecimiento de la ciudad, el parque se encuentra ahora dentro del núcleo urbano de la ciudad, enclavado en el distrito de Universidad y junto a edificios como el Hospital Miguel Servet, el Estadio de La Romareda y la Cámara de Comercio.
Dentro del Parque se puede disfrutar de gran cantidad de espacios naturales y de monumentos entre los que cabe destacar:
El acceso principal se lleva a cabo a través del Puente Trece de Septiembre, en conmemoración del día en que el general Miguel Primo de Rivera se pronunció desde la Capitanía de Barcelona, y que da paso al Paseo de San Sebastián que cuenta con jardines y fuentes de inspiración versallesca.
Un lugar destacado es El Batallador que es un gran monumento al rey Alfonso I El Batallador, inaugurado en 1925 como conmemoración del octavo centenario de la reconquista de la ciudad por su parte.
También destacan grandes avenidas (como el paseo de los Bearneses o el de Isabel Zapata) al igual que el Jardín Botánico, el Museo Etnológico, el Rincón de Goya, el Jardín de Invierno, el Quiosco de la Música, etc.

O parque Mãe Bonifácia é um parque urbano localizado no município brasileiro de Cuiabá, capital do estado de Mato Grosso. O parque foi inaugurado em dezembro de 2000 e está localizado na Avenida Miguel Sutil, em uma área de 77 hectares.
Seu nome deu-se em homenagem a uma curandeira, escrava refugiada, conhecida por Mãe Bonifácia. Além do curandeirismo, Mãe Bonifácia controlava o acesso ao quilombo (a área era habitaba por quilombolas). O parque possui cinco trilhas e cinco postos com equipamentos de ginástica, mirante, centro de educação ambiental e praça cívica.
No local, pode-se ver a vegetação típica do cerrado, especialmente na época de florada, que ocorre por volta de agosto. Os visitantes também podem ver alguns habitantes do cerrado, como o sagüi e outros pequenos primatas que vivem cruzando as trilhas do parque.
Além das atrações naturais, o parque também é o centro de várias atividades sociais e lazer, promovidas por empresas, ONGs e entidades estatais.

The park Bonifácia Mother is an urban park in the Brazilian city of Cuiaba, capital of Mato Grosso. The park was inaugurated in December 2000 and is located at Avenida Miguel Sutil, in an area of 77 hectares.
His name was given in honor of a healer, a refugee slave, known as Mother Bonifácia. Besides healing, Mother Bonifácia controlled access to the Quilombo (the area was habitaba by maroons). The park has five tracks and five stations with fitness equipment, gazebo, environmental education center and civic square.
At the site, one can see the typical vegetation of the Cerrado, especially at the time of flowering, which occurs around August. Visitors can also view some inhabitants of the cerrado, such as marmosets and other small primates that live across the trails of the park.
Besides the natural attractions, the park is also the home of several social and leisure activities, promoted by businesses, NGOs and government entities.
