I finally got my smartphone today. Yeah! Internet everywhere...
Actually I was saving for the new iPhone, but with all the problems, the limited stock and the pricetag I decided to go android... so far I really really like it.

The Wetpixel Ambon Night Safari is underway in full force; we are doing 3 night dives each evening and are enjoying being immersed in a soup of the bizarre creatures that inhabit the waters of Ambon, including discarded diapers, tampons and other desirable subjects. Unfortunately, the nasty stuff thrown into the bay is part of what creates such an interesting underwater habitat.
Most of our group is shooting with standard macro rigs, but there are 3 insect eye relay lenses here at the resort. Julian and I are both shooting INON lenses, and Tony has a custom job from Japan. They can be incredibly frustrating to use, but successful images often describe scenes that have never before been seen. The photo in this post is a screen grab from HD video taken with my Canon 7D and insect eye lens. The main subject, a mass of eggs from a panda anemonefish (Amphiprion polymus), is normally photographed using a super-macro setup (the eggs are tiny). Using an insect eye lens, I was able to capture video of both the tiny eggs and attentive parent fish. Each egg houses a late-stage baby anemonefish, an in the video, you can see tiny hearts beating and eyes moving.

从以前的阅读到现在的浏览，从有效的资讯到现在爆炸般的垃圾资讯，我们要想想，什么才是真正的变化，什么才是过往几千年到现在由于数字化的便利以及数字化技术的突飞猛进，产生时代真正的进步。
变形金刚的电影中，我们把冰冷的机器人，表演出充满人类情感与极度拟人化的超级运动设计，我们在感叹新科技所带来不可思议的画面的同时，我们人类的欣赏角度和投入情感的方式，并从未被新科技所改变，我们一样没有发明出属于数字机器人动画应该才有的新的审美标准，我们认为的英勇雄壮威武正义邪恶的所有形象，并没有因为新科技数字化的过程而有所改变。
也就是说，英勇强壮并不表现在哪个机器人本身有多大的数字技术处理能力，没有表现在谁的硬盘比较大，谁的CPU比较快，谁的电池较持久，我们一样像欣赏中国功夫电影或好莱坞拳击电影一般的，为了充满拟人肌肉感的高仿真人动画速度感而大呼奇迹，新科技的较量为什么不是两台立方体的超级电脑在擂台上的超高速运算较量，或者干脆就PK一场围棋。
这就像有不少科学家质疑所谓的"外星人"一旦被人类冠以"人"的概念，就好像应该成为头脑大，四肢萎缩一样充满拟人化的可笑，甚至所谓的"神"，也在庸俗的人类图说中，出现了人类的形象。所以人类其实在有历史记载的几千年，并没有真正意义上"人类"的改变，甚至，我们从人类历史中所谓的英雄光辉形象自古至今，都没有太大的变化，尤其是对于新科技的态度以及审美情趣，还是以传统角度为主要导向。
如果我们没有一个大规模的改造人类面对新科技的"新观念"或"新生活"运动，我们将很难理解新科技所带来新的意识形态，新的美学体系，新的审美情趣，新的艺术方法。而交互艺术，互动装置，新媒介艺术等新科技所带来的新的艺术行为，将只能沦为简单的新感官体验，而成为只是材料与技法改变的传统艺术行为。
可以说，当我们被那些剧情极其无聊只剩下纯粹低级趣味的感官享受的所谓新科技电影或电玩，所集体征服的时候，人类的审美情趣，理解剧情的能力，热爱精彩故事的能力，应该是集体下降了不少。如果每天浏览垃圾资讯，而无法有兴趣阅读文本的时代称为新科技进步的时代，那一定是开人类全体的玩笑。
新科技进步应该是让人类一分钟理解世界哲学，一分钟热爱世界艺术，一分钟看破世界善恶。
什么是真正的变化？人类应该要变化吗？应该要被新科技变化吗？什么是真正的进步？人类应该要进步吗？新科技应该带来进步吗？新科技应该要带给人类什么?什么才应该是新科技发展的方向？
这不是一个简单的道德问题，更不应该产生盲目固守传统文化价值而否定新科技发展的愚蠢腐儒，反而，道路正确的新科技是一门巨大的生意，如果再加上大创意的路线够正确，那会是一门惊人的独门生意。
这是一个印度的穷人银行创始人，既成功的完成了一个独门的高利润生意还能拿到诺贝尔和平奖的伟大时代，而不是一个对于不肖暴利商人歌功颂德的时代。这是一个三峡好人低成本电影拿到国际金奖的光荣时代，而不是一个用钱来堆电影能够获得好评的时代。
如果变形金刚是拿股民或基金的钱来投资，那它其实就是为了全世界的大小投资者成功的完成了一次理财活动，全世界的人民，当然也包括中国人。如果变形金刚的出资中，有相对多数是中国来的或中国人的钱，那就是一部真正意义上的中国电影。
在一个北京奥运找瑞士建筑师设计国家体育馆的时代，找法国人设计国家大剧院的时代，中国电影难道不能找日本导演，美国科技，法国设计，印度编剧，德国摄影，埃及演员，中国台北配音来合力完成一个在北极拍摄的科幻喜剧电影吗？
如果一台１００元美金的笔记本电脑成功的帮助了全世界第三世界的贫困儿童，下一个可以拿到诺贝尔和平奖的可能还是商人。因为一个孩子一台电脑的新科技真正的改变也推进了人类的生活与命运，而且是正确无误的。
把家庭娱乐与家庭运动充分结合的互动游戏ＷＩＩ，改变了人类的生活方式，健康与娱乐的完美结合，在不受场地以及气候的限制下，让人类从小孩到老人都动起来，增加亲人与朋友的共享欢乐时光，那不光是改变，更是伟大的进步。

Photojojo is a cool website and their emails are great.
- Each email has a single focus and shares information rather than allowing their website to hog it and demand click-throughs.
- Headings and text are kept to html meaning that someone with 'images off' can still read the email and get value out of it.
- Images are used sparingly (branding, hero shot) - again useful for people with 'images off'
- Smart invitations to bookmark and for friends to subscribe. They could do more here - at least with a Facebook share call to action.

The original shopping queen. yes that's what i am. My mom is being
really funny these days, since my new shelves came in. while...i've
been packing. She has stated no more bags, and to focus on the
purchase of a car instead. Has the room been cleaner after all these
packing? No... i still feel it's a mess. I got more clothes, more
shoes ... & more bags than i did when i first came back from US.
Life in US was so simple. I could make do with like t-shirts and
jeans, and look good-2-go for a night out, togging that little
handbag of mine that was a great steal from one of those thrift
stores. Yes that t-shirt may be from Abercrombie, and those jeans may
be a pair of Calvin Kleins. But my point is .... oh well, how do i
put it...read on...
So i returned home after graduation in '01. I lost weight, got in
between jobs. Wardrobe went through massive changes. I still got that
101 white tank tops, that i hardly ever wear. Each of them unique in
its own flavor : V-neck, Round-neck, Double Strap, Single Strap, Pink
Strap, Blue Straps, Polka Dots, etc etc. I probably have just about
any white tops that any girl would need. For work, i wear pants for
convenience's sake, as well as functionality. So i have about 10-12
pairs of black pants by now. I lost track of the # of pairs of pants
i own in every color. Hmmm... and being a chick, i still love & adore
frilly lil' dresses, and those flirty lil' skirts. But i hate wearing
them, and you often see me in flirty frilly lil' numbers. let's not
even go to shoes. Mr. E claimed i am training to become the next
Imelda Marcos. Imelda who? Just the women who has possibly thousands
of shoes.
My bags are a different story. Yup, the picture you're looking at is
my snooty collection. Each tells a different tale. I cherish every
lil' bag that i own and have. Especially those that are expensive &
with their snooty italian labels. My love affair with the snooty
italian labels started when i was 17. And i have my first bag from
then, till today. So you can tell by the wardrobe. I have 7 shelves
full of my own mix of italian & local labels. The cheapest being just
7 bucks. i've been told to blog about my infamous collection. it's
really not a lot. most of my labels are collected during my working
days.

This is a photograph is one of a set of photographs from the Castlepollard 5KM Road Race and Fun Run 2013 which was held in Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 13th August 2014 at 20:00. The race is hosted by North Westmeath Athletic Club. The race has grown in stature and popularity over the years and is now one of the most well attended road races in the midlands. The race offers prizes in all categories. Castlepollard 5KM Road Race attempts to support young runners and walkers by organising a range of underage races around the town square before the adult race at 20:00. Profits from the race go towards grassroots athletics in the region - North Westmeath Athletics, Schools Cross Country, and local community games.

The Castlepollard 5KM can be considered as the final major race in summer road racing in the midlands as with the fading light of the late summer comes less opportunities to hold races in the evening time. Castlepollard is a small town located in North County Westmeath amongst the lakes of Lough Lene and Lough Derravagh. One of the enduring symbols of the Castlepollard 5KM is the tireless work of Andy MacEoin of North Westmeath AC who has been a visitor to almost every road race in the Midlands and beyond over the past number of months to publicize the event. Many of the participants tonight will have seen Andy's strategically placed advertising signs around other road race routes. Certainly this work, and that of many other members of North Westmeath AC, has paid off well.
The race begins near the center of the town square and proceeds directly out the R395 towards Coole and Edgeworthstown. The first KM is flat and quick allowing the field to spread out. The race then enters the Tullynally Castle estate and proceeds up the tree-lined avenue. The gardens, like the castle are on a grand scale, taking in nearly 12 acres. This allows the race to make a big loop of the gardens with a quick downhill stretch followed by a sharp climb before the race rejoins it's outgoing path for the final 1.5KM of the race. The final 1100M from the gate of the Castle grounds to the finish is as the first - fast and flat and allows for a great finish passing the GAA grounds with finish line just outside the local Fire Station.
One of the show pieces of the race landscape is Tullynally Castle. The name Tullynally is an adaption of 'Tulaigh an Eallaigh' – the Hill of the Swan. The hill overlooks Lough Derravaragh, the legendary lake of the Children of Lir who were turned into swans. Tullynally Castle is still a family home to this day. This year over 450 participants took part in the race. This represented another great attendance. Last year's Castlepollard 5KM set the bar very high for future races with a record participation of just under 470 on the night. The race in 2013 showed an increase of over 100 participants from the previous record of 366 set at the 2012 event. It goes without saying that the Castlepollard 5KM has become one of the "must do" road race events in the midlands. Everything that is good about club road racing in Ireland can be found here.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Think about it first, what is your guess? Likely you already had a gender
in mind....Well if you expected we're having a *BOY*, you're wrong!! We're
having a girl! :) We had the long ultrasound appointment yesterday, and we
visited with my doctor today so she could explain everything to us. At
first the technician could not determine the gender because the baby was
sitting down sort of indian-style, so she had me get up and touch my toes 3
times. After that both she and the doctor were certain that it's a girl.
The ultrasound was the coolest experience ever! I feel so blessed that we
have moving pictures now to actually see the baby moving around. The tech
who performed our ultrasound, Joy, was an expert, she's been doing it for
30+ years. She said when she started they didn't even have moving pictures!
We got to see the baby moving her mouth in the drinking motion, so cute! We
saw all the bones of the arms, legs, fingers & toes. Everything appears to
be perfectly healthy with the spine, kidneys, heart, head & stomach. They
gave us a perfect report! Also, this confirmed that we have the lowest
chance of all that our baby has Down's syndrome.
The only thing that they said they're going to monitor, is a very slight
risk of growth depression due to the odd placement of the umbilical cord on
the placenta. My doctor assured me that it's not statistically proven at
all because she's seen plenty of baby's with this issue that are enormous.
But since our baby's umbilical cord connects to the edge of the placenta
(rather than somewhere toward the middle), theoretically she could have
trouble getting all the nutrients and growing. However, she said so far our
baby's even a little bit ahead so the ultrasound showed us having a due
date of Dec 27th, rather than the 30th, so we'll see! It's actually kind of
cool though because this means we get to do another ultrasound in 9 weeks,
when normally we wouldn't! I'm really excited to see the baby when she's
that big.
I attached a picture that has our 2 favorite pictures from the ultrasound.
You can see her cute profile with nose & lips (whose do they look like?!),
and the other one is looking directly at her face and she's smiling! I also
attached pictures of me in our new apartment! We moved last month to an
apartment in Chinatown and we're really enjoying it. Who wants to come
visit?!

Think about it first, what is your guess? Likely you already had a gender
in mind....Well if you expected we're having a *BOY*, you're wrong!! We're
having a girl! :) We had the long ultrasound appointment yesterday, and we
visited with my doctor today so she could explain everything to us. At
first the technician could not determine the gender because the baby was
sitting down sort of indian-style, so she had me get up and touch my toes 3
times. After that both she and the doctor were certain that it's a girl.
The ultrasound was the coolest experience ever! I feel so blessed that we
have moving pictures now to actually see the baby moving around. The tech
who performed our ultrasound, Joy, was an expert, she's been doing it for
30+ years. She said when she started they didn't even have moving pictures!
We got to see the baby moving her mouth in the drinking motion, so cute! We
saw all the bones of the arms, legs, fingers & toes. Everything appears to
be perfectly healthy with the spine, kidneys, heart, head & stomach. They
gave us a perfect report! Also, this confirmed that we have the lowest
chance of all that our baby has Down's syndrome.
The only thing that they said they're going to monitor, is a very slight
risk of growth depression due to the odd placement of the umbilical cord on
the placenta. My doctor assured me that it's not statistically proven at
all because she's seen plenty of baby's with this issue that are enormous.
But since our baby's umbilical cord connects to the edge of the placenta
(rather than somewhere toward the middle), theoretically she could have
trouble getting all the nutrients and growing. However, she said so far our
baby's even a little bit ahead so the ultrasound showed us having a due
date of Dec 27th, rather than the 30th, so we'll see! It's actually kind of
cool though because this means we get to do another ultrasound in 9 weeks,
when normally we wouldn't! I'm really excited to see the baby when she's
that big.
I attached a picture that has our 2 favorite pictures from the ultrasound.
You can see her cute profile with nose & lips (whose do they look like?!),
and the other one is looking directly at her face and she's smiling! I also
attached pictures of me in our new apartment! We moved last month to an
apartment in Chinatown and we're really enjoying it. Who wants to come
visit?!
