The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

One of the reasons we were in Bavaria last week was to see (and photograph) The Neuschwanstein Castle. Being one of the most visited and photographed castles of Europe it was difficult to give it my personal twist. Using multiple exposures and adding them together through Aurora 2018 and Photoshop CC, I made this image of the castle that inspired Walt Disney studios for their Cinderella Castle.

With little else locally and a craving for some shoebox action, I made my way to Tonbridge and South London for some stuff out of the ordinary crap we get up here. Unfortunately I didn't manage any of the RHTT circuits in sun, however I did see 10 class 73's in total and some other interesting bits here at Tonbridge which allowed for some impressive shots when the sun poked through. Here is a sparkling 73961 having been recently released from the paint shop. Behind it is a poorly 73119 and even further is 73107, evidently fresh off the RHTT.
I wonder if McDonald's fly through is open yet?

This photo is more a happy marriage of cheerful yet somewhat dreamy colors than anything else, even though there's a short story to it. I was walking down a trail when I saw these thistles plus something on them. On closer inspection it turned out to be a huddled bumblebee. The day being very chilly, I thought the poor bee must have frozen to death during the night and only rigor mortis had kept it on the flower. As I stood observing the flowers swaying in the wind in all their sunlit glory, the bee suddenly stirred and began feeding, as if its battery had just been re-charged :-). Nature is beautiful!

I knew I was looking through my macro lens at a very pretty butterfly, but when I got around to processing I could hardly believe the spectacular colour patterns on the underside of its wings.
That tiny strip of out-of-focus material at the bottom bothers me; I wish I could have avoided it somehow, or at least the small portion that rises up at the centre. It's a small thing, yes, but I'm a perfectionist. And I understand that there is no such thing as perfection. We live with our contradictions. I enjoy the challenge of trying to come away with the photo I envision - exactly, no compromises. It happens so rarely...
Lying flat in the muck near a side branch of the river, I couldn't do much to change the angle of view because I didn't want to scare the butterfly away. I love the look of this little critter anyway. And I enjoyed the process - trying to put it all together in the field - as much as creating the final result. Probably more.
I did put more effort into photographing butterflies this past summer than I have for several years, and have to say I have a greater appreciation for photographers who create excellent, flawless images of them. It takes hard work and dedication. Somehow I was reminded of my first published photos, in photo magazines back in the 1970s. I think my first three submissions were accepted. I thought I was hot stuff. Then I received about ten rejections in a row, and came back down to earth. With this photo, I came to earth - literally and figuratively. More butterflies to follow as I round out the current insect series before moving on to something else.

I came across this slightly larger than usual sparrow which I thought at first was a Song or maybe a Fox Sparrow. The upright crest has thrown me though is this a subspecies or something else.

If there is one thing that that I prefer over all else, it would be music. Is there anything else that can take you back in time and thirty years later you can still remember how you felt the first time you heard a lyric or chord progression.
What else gives us holes in something good to eat and then the hole itself which is edible?
Anyway, when Alex and Kerri were here a few weeks ago Alex and I made Kerri's all-time favorite treat, her birthday choice ever since she was a little girl.
This is my Grandmother's recipe and the doughnuts are misshapen, ugly, no two alike and some have problems with the frying. We love them all and there are no rejects.

Before I say anything else, yes, that is a purebred wolf.

The story had as its subject an “attractive, well-bred young lady”, a village girl of the country being deceived into giving a wolf she encountered the information he needed to find her grandmother’s house successfully and eat the old woman while at the same time avoiding being noticed by woodcutters working in the nearby forest. Then he proceeded to lay a trap for the Red Riding Hood. The latter ends up being asked to climb into the bed before being eaten by the wolf, where the story ends. The wolf emerges the victor of the encounter and there is no happy ending.

These shops only allow a very limited number of customers into their store at one time ...and people stand happily in a queue to be let in!
Modified Helios 44M-4 at F4 or F5.6. As said before, "swirly" bokeh is not the only thing this lens can do - "toy camera" is another option with a bit of focus in the centre. I have not yet tried the lens for portrait. This is a view down High Street (Markyate, Hertfordshire) with a red poppy decoration to the right (last week we remembered the victims of the wars and Armistice Day).
Exploring, the beauty of the past, all else is left to Imagination.
