Ever noticed how naturally occurring elements just work together, complementing one another and enhancing their environment seemingly without effort? This is true, too, in cooking where the judicious use of a little simple seasoning elevates already good ingredients to something delicious.

“The Saturn V is the ideal icon to represent a big dream. This rocket was designed and built as a collaboration of nearly half-a-million people and allowed our human species to venture beyond our world and stand on ANOTHER - SURELY one of the biggest dreams of all time. ENABLING THE DREAMS of young people to touch this mighty rocket sends a powerful message in conjunction with creating an educational curriculum to engage students to embrace the power of learning through many important subjects”

It's unusual. Des Moines Public School yards are mostly vacant during this Covid-19 closure. Students are learning from their classrooms (remotely) during this time of quarantine. While these sites may seem empty, they remind us of human interaction that normally would be.
The King Elementary community welcomed students back to school with an applause/high five line that stretched from the door to the parking lot. Grand View, Drake, DM Police and DM Fire were among those gathered to give their best wishes for the new school year.
When King Elementary students start school in the fall and end school in the Spring, the community shows up to cheer them on!

I dug out an old digital camera and was surprised to see photos on the memory card. These are from a school play from the previous school year.
