Oak Tree Elementary, North San Juan, Nevada Co, California on 23 January 2018. Winter has been gray and dreary. Even the birds seem to be without color. It was nice to see this spot of black and white and bright red against the blue sky.
A former tsarist primary school, built in 1912, during the era of Russification. The school operated on this site until 1961, when it was moved to its current location.
In the 1970s, the building housed a butcher shop and was later converted into communal housing. Today, it is still partially occupied. A restored inscription in Russian, "Начaльноe Училище" (Nachalnoye Uchilishche), (Elementary School), along with the date of construction, remains on the façade. Łódź, Poland.

Hackberry Elementary School — Oct. 2007
