Bits and bobs
Pictures taken during exercising my hobby (electronics) and building/disassembling amplifiers and/or upgrading a record player tonearm and pre-amplifier. Anyway, a text was needed, to describe this lot, and here it is (the text and the lot, enjoy the pictures :)).
Rare point and shot 35mm camera which is basically a cut down version of the chinon 35EE compact rangefinder. Shares the same 38mm 1:2.7 lens but scale focus
A compact camera with interchangeable lenses and a prism, weird! The looks deceive, it seems like any other SLR from the 70´s, but this Konica FP-1 pushes the bounderies of low specs a bit too far. The camera is full auto, with no manual override, no exposure compensation, no flash speed, not even B. Even a Zenit has a B shutter setting. Like the Zenit, this Konica only works from 1/30 to 1/1000, well, beats the Zenit for top shutter speed. The most idiotic thing about the exposure program is that it wont go bellow 2,8, even if the lens is faster, like the one in the picture.
In the end of the day, the question is why? Why would someone choose this Konica over a compact?

Coming in the front entrance and hanging a left down the first aisle (at least, I *think* this is the very first aisle), this is the view one would encounter. I kind of like those big overhead signs, but I feel certain the style as seen here is going to be changing, at least a little bit...

The Schneider Kreuznach Xenotar 2.8 80mm. One of the best ever F 1:2.8 80mm MF lenses?
This lens was made for Exakta 66, discontinued 2001. At Photodo this lens is rated 3.8. For comparison the Hasselblad Planar CF 80/2,8 was rated 3.7
A well-reputed lens testing company once wrote, that the best lens they ever tested was the Xenotar 2.8 80mm for Rolleiflex 6008AF (2100 USD @ Adorama) - this one - for Exakta 66 - is optically identical, but manually focused - can be found used for 400 USD. A few of my 35mm SLR cameras Ive picked up over the past few years when looking for lenses to adapt to my Sony NEX 5R.
This is what a notebook computer looks like in 2013. It's more commonly referred to as a notebook than a laptop. The first computer that I could remember was an Intel 386 back in the late 80's in Hong Kong. I've seen the explosion of the Internet along with the rise and fall of the phone line modems peaking at 56k speeds. I remember 13 years ago when AMD broke the 1GHz barrier with their Athlon. There was a time when CPU's could just be passively cooled. The emergence of wireless Ethernet was at times painful, but welcomed. This little machine with a diagonal of 11.6" no thicker than an inch is definitely more powerful than anything that I've cobbled together with parts. Quite nice to have so much computing power in a rather small package. The next technology improvement that I'm really looking forward to is for the widespread adoption of 300dpi LCD screens.
New electronics at the Columbia Heights Target. Since this store is a high volume urban store, it did not get the carpeting.

My local Kmart will be shrinking starting in July. The store is one of supposedly 60 test stores to try a new strategy to increase sales by putting the entire store on sale.
Marshalls and other unannounced tenant(s) that will make for a 45,000 sq ft project. Interesting thing here is that the Kmart store will still be around 73,000 Sq ft rather than the 59,000 that would of been half the store. In other words, the store will still technically occupy more than half of the building.
The project is expected to be complete in Q2 next year. Hopefully this project will not turn around and cause this store to close completely as the Anderson, SC store did. Whatever happens, I'll be sure to send picture updates when I can.

I've finally got a grown-up camera! Say hello to my new Olympus OM-D E-M10 II.
Now I have to read the manual.
A Legend. That's, imo, how a camera should look like: Every setting and function has it's button, switch or wheel. You have to enter the menu only once: To adjust your favorite basic settings when using the 7D for the first time :)
