While we were in Vietnam, there was a national election going on. There were a lot of posters up everywhere. I wonder if they are better at taking them down than we are in the States.
Voting at the Bayswater Senior Citizens Centre on August 21st 2010.
I prefer to vote about half an hour after the polls open. That way I avoid both the initial crowd and the secondary crowd when the less enthusiastic voters get around to dragging themselves out of bed.
More from Election Night
Celebrated at our little hidden bunker somewhere in downtown Los Angeles.
The night was electric....
Like a burden had just been lifted and a door finally opened. I have never seen my people so happy...
LIGHT BREAKS - A series. Grab my friends from the throngs of a party and throw them into the light. Instant. Spontaneous. Thrilling.
Dr. Hassan al-Turabi a leading Sudanese scholar, politician and thinker. He co-founded the National Congress Party NCP. But him and al-Bashir the Sudanese president disagreed and that led to his expulsion and imprisonment several times. He leads the National Popular party. He is a strong advocate of Sharia Islamic ruling. He is also a strong supporter of the Darfurian quest for justice, the leader of the JEM movement is one of his followers. He is also in favor for the South to gain independence but through peaceful means. I interviewed him and he is a very charismatic character but a true politician that knows how to avoid questions by given two contradicting answers... He is loved and loathed by many Sudanese.
