Hamburg, NY- Members of the 174th Attack Wing, Syracuse, NY, patrol the streets here today. The Airmen were activated to help with relief efforts in Erie County due to the recent lake effect snow storm. The mission is still in progress around the area with more than 500 service members activated.
Had good fun with a group at Offshoot Camera Club trying out the Adamski effect on a number of photos. It provides some interesting effects.
The Adamski effect was created by Josh Adamski. It uses blur techniques to create the illusion of movement, and you can choose to isolate figures or elements in the photo and leave them un-blurred.
Thanks to Emily Gallagher for leading the group and introducing us to the technique.

Christmas is just around the corner and we are starting to set up Christmas decors in the house. I wanted to try out a "Vintage film effect" action I got from the net on Photoshop

A slow shutter sppeed experiment. Image taken on the bottom side of a highway. I was fortunate enough to get an bus in the background with matching color stripe with the stones.
One of the effects I got using the Droste Effect plug in for Adobe's Pixel Bender. See my blog at sydspix.wordpress.com/2011/02/19/pixel-bender-droste-effect/ to download the free plug in and where to get the Droste Effect. they say you shouldn't
run from your problems
that may be good advice for some
but it left me feeling like every day
was in some way problematic
I'm an automatic memory maker
good or bad, I choke on both
my mind is a castle where I keep them
and my mouth is the moat
set to sea in a lifelong boat
captained by a dark-eyed prince
who denied his own deliverance
he was the one who whistled whispers
into your misty messages
drawn in by the lighthouse effect
crying at your GPS
till it gets solemn
learning to run
from your
problems
