Mass effect's Omni Tool/Omni Blade re-imagined as a ring.
Surely one of the stranger ideas that has popped into my head. Wasn't quite sure if it was "good enuff" but the design has grown on me (especially after I got the more subdued steel version).
Made in transparent detail (Fullcure 720) via Shapeways then hand painted by me.

The astronomical full moon is just in few hours. Tonight at moonrise we had a perfect combination of moonlight and ambient light. I decided to try the Orton effect this time around. I think I like the way it came out. What do you think?

Day 10 - from Kim Klassen's Beyond Layers. Painterly Effect. My goal was that the field and weeds/flowers would have more of an impressionistic feel to it. I desaturated it and used the black/white gradient, as well as the High Pass filter (too cool). The way the golden rays of the sun were hitting those mountains behind the building it became a distraction, but desaturated the greenery in the field looks a little dusty (not unlike you would see off a dirt road on a hot, dry day). I did mask the leaves of red gracing the fencepost to get more pop. Practice, practice, practice. Textures used are "crackerjack" and "sienna."
