Originally, the Harris shutter was a device with three colour filters, allowing the photographer to make a single photo of a time series of shots with different primary colours. When the camera is kept steady, areas of the photo without any change end up having the same colour as in reality, whereas areas where motion takes place give a kind of rainbow effect.

The ups and downs of these fields give the effect of "waves" of sunflowers in my opinion. What a sight to see so much color in a year that has seemed to dull just about all of the senses to a muted grey.
This is a new one! I took it a few days ago when I was out with my family visiting my stepmothers sister. Actually I was about to take some photos of a cat (A cat? Have I ever been taking a photo on a cat before?) but when I was on my way I saw this little fellow!
Once again a little experiment. Moving the focus ring of the lens during a 3 sec. exposure produces this glow effect. A little camera shake could not be avoided, but adds nicely to the overall result :)
Setting: my kitchen countertop which is lit by a nice window facing north, great natural light for macro shoots. Backdrop: an old black fleece blanket.
Tripod, 2 sec. selftimer (the RC release has only just arrived).

Candid street portrait taken in Glasgow, Scotland. This couple were watching a street performer but I felt that the dappled light falling across their faces was performance art all of it's own.
I left all the scan dust in for artistic effect... & a some pure laziness on my behalf!
With digital SLR's i was frustrated by sensor dust, with film it is dusty negatives & scanners...
You can never win!!

This picture was taken in Xcaret Mexico in the Yucatan Penninsula in October of 2007 during my honeymoon to Cancun. Xcaret is a beautiful ecological park, and had a variety of entertainment from snorkling to a live show. Awesome place to visit. I decided to give the Dave Hill effect a shot and I think it came out OK.

Two images for today the photo and a waterlogue version.
Once I got my cropped and framed in Snapseed it was then taken into Waterlogue and a bunch of different versions were painted up.
This one had the least amount of paint and I really liked the effect so decided to use it as is rather than make more versions in other apps for more effects and layering.
