I always want to try to shoot some infrared photos. However, buying an expensive infrared filter (i.e. Hoya R72) is not quite practical to me. So I tried to play around with photoshop to get the coloured infrared effect as close as I can. And here is the result. I know it's not perfect but I think it's still acceptable.

Mass effect's Omni Tool/Omni Blade re-imagined as a ring.
Surely one of the stranger ideas that has popped into my head. Wasn't quite sure if it was "good enuff" but the design has grown on me (especially after I got the more subdued steel version).
Made in Stainless Steel via Shapeways then hand painted by me.
If you want to try your hand at this painting project:
I have been filled with self loathing recently, so decided to hold myself captive last night to see if I could induce the Stockholm Effect.
Saw these nice teasels when I pulled over to snap some nature shots on a beautiful morning in Ohio. Shot with an LG G Pad 7.0 tablet. Edited in PicsArt app w with the 'film' filter that I personally adjusted.

The gentleman tells me that dipping the semi-molten glass into a solution of baking soda creates the bubbles in the glass.
Or fineness and roughness.
While reading my morning paper, I came across an advertisement that 1) The Goodman Studio has a glass blowing demo today; 2) there is an annual sale happening; and 3) the handmade-in-Toronto glassmaking studio is only 15 minutes away from my home in an industrial area.
The Goodman Studio doesn't sell direct to the public and the workshop isn't open to the public normally, so I grabbed my camera to have a look.

On Tuesday I go to the outing of Religion, we went by the missionaries, we sang in the language of Congo, and we discussed about so many things. Then we entered into a museum of stuffed animals, bones, and so many fascinating and intriguing things, I was ecstatic. I took about ten photos, but I haven't my sweet camera, so I 've shot with a camera a bit 'poor...
On exiting Tate Modern the light in the Turbine hall was amazing, giving a cathedral type appearance. I could not resist filming the drama of the people leaving, and the shadowplay.
I wanted Church organ music to go with the clip to give the effect of awe and majesty, but could not find any. However. I think the jazz works well with the choreography of the "players".
As modified using the Orton effect. This is probably not the last you have seen of this fascinating fence.
~500 hours all told. The Turian and Alliance ships will be dismantled this afternoon and I have to admit that I'm more than a little sad about that.
Nestling in the bottom of the Little Langdale valley, Blea Tarn provides a stunning view of Side Pike and the Langdale Pikes in the distance. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too kind and the Pikes were shrouded in mist. The image has had an Orton effect applied to produce the painterly feel.
This is the result of a pinhole camera effect tutorial from the current issue of Digital Photographer Magazine (Issue 65, p. 78).
It was fun and, as always, I learned a bunch.

Miracle Butterfly that came in January
Little butterfly come back to me
You coloured in my winter wings.
I could be the sun and you can hold my hand
But all you ever say is: 'catch me if you can'
I feel like a butterfly
As you search for a summer sky.
A perfect love so hard to find
Little butterfly come back to me.. ♪
Fun Facts:
The Butterfly Effect phrase refers to the idea that the small gust of wind a butterfly's wings may create tiny changes in the atmosphere that ultimately cause a significant shift in the weather like a tornado appearing (or prevent a tornado from appearing) on the other side of the world.
Like a domino effect!
The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which would then cause a chain of events leading to large-scale phenomena. So in other words, had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system, the chain of events, might have been vastly different.
