'I was on a beautiful sim only to receive an IM from Twain. I'd heard he was a total asshole. His first words to me were: 'Hi Blondie !' I was disgusted ! Luckily, his agent, Craig Rogalski, www.imdb.com/name/nm8226307/bio/ quickly sent me a personal IM and smoothed things over. We agreed on a one week shoot on my sim. I wouldn't have to interact with Twain at all !
The rest of the movie crew was very professional ! As for the movie itself. It seems to have been well directed. I enjoyed the plot and the homey storyline.

'I saw Arol's sim buried on a profile and I wanted to have a look. When I got there I was amazed at how beautiful and large it actually is ! So I approached Arol in the most polite way ... I, um , .. well ? Maybe not. She allowed my film crew a week to do the entire shoot. I chose Conrad L. Hall: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conrad_Hall : to be my cinematographer. Conrad has worked on films such as American Beauty and Cool Hand Luke .. he's brilliant !! It is true, this is not one of my standard films that feature a lot of derendering, dark, mysterious, atmospheric, depressing, nor a lack of storyline. As they say in the industry, I wanted to 'break an eye' and I did ! It may not do as well at the box office, .. but it is my film and I'm proud as punch ! Editor's Note: Chandra is celebrating 10 years of operation. This image from 2002 shows some very hot young stars -- and not the kind you see in the tabloids!
At a distance of 6,000 light years from Earth, the star cluster RCW 38 is a relatively close star-forming region. This image covers an area about 5 light years across, and contains thousands of hot, very young stars formed less than a million years ago. X-rays from the hot upper atmospheres of 190 of these stars were detected by Chandra.
In addition to the point-like emission from stars, the Chandra image revealed a diffuse cloud of X-rays enveloping the star cluster. The X-ray spectrum of the cloud shows an excess of high-energy X-rays, which indicates that the X-rays come from trillion-volt electrons moving in a magnetic field. Such particles are typically produced by exploding stars, or in the strong magnetic fields around neutron stars or black holes, none of which is evident in RCW 38.
One possible origin for the high-energy electrons is an undetected supernova that occurred in the cluster. Although direct evidence for such a supernova could have faded away thousands of years ago, a shock wave or a rapidly rotating neutron star produced by the outburst could be acting in concert with particles evaporating off the young stars to produce the high energy electrons.
Regardless of the origin of the energetic electrons, their presence could change the chemistry of the disks that will eventually form planets around stars in the cluster. For example, in our own solar system, we find evidence of certain short-lived radioactive nuclei (Aluminum 26 being the most well known). This implies the existence of a high-energy process late in the evolution of our solar system. If our solar system was immersed for a time in a sea of energetic particles, this could explain the rare nuclides present in meteorites found on Earth today.

This pretty but small hot springs pool lies a little to the south of Grand Geyser. Originally know as Oyster Spring because of its shape, it gained its current name after a tragic accident in 1929 before there were many boardwalks and marked trails in the geyser basin. That summer Georges Landoy, editor of the French Newspaper Le Matin at Antwerp Belgium, visited the park with a group of European journalists. On July 3 at 3:45 pm, Mr. Landoy was watching an eruption of Grand Geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin. Beyond that fact there are conflicting accounts as to what happen. The newspaper accounts vary from paper to paper and those reports differ for those of the Park Personnel. Park historian( now retired) and author Lee Whittlesey, reviews these story conflicts in his book Death in Yellowstone. He states “…I believe that the monthly superintendent’s report and the Old Faithful logbook are the more reliable sources [p.13-14]. Those accounts state that while Grand was erupting Castle geyser started its eruption. The editor, in his haste to get a photo, hurried toward Castle and didn’t notice the small pool. He walked right in to it. He was severely burned in the at least 180 °F (82 °C) In 1962, Horace Albright who was Park Superintendent, during the 1920s, wrote that Landoy fell in to Oyster Spring while backing up trying to get a photo of the Grand Geyser eruption (Whittlesey, Death in Yellowstone, p 14). Regardless of how it happened, Mr Landoy received severe burns to his hips and legs. The 42 year old editor was evacuated to the Mammoth Hot Springs Hospital where he died of his burns on July 5, 1929. After the incident people began calling the spring Belgian Pool after the country where he lived and worked. The name stuck. Regardless of the specific details, to a photographer this story is a good reminder to be aware of our surroundings and watch our steps. A photographer, seeing only the image he wants to take, may not see the danger right in front of him. Equally, a photographer, engrossed only in his work, is oblivious of the dangers that lurk behind him.

Bournemouth Pier is a Victorian pier with an amusement arcade, a variety theatre, a café and boat trips along the coast. The pier has amazing views and attractions include indoor climbing, zip wire, restaurant, cafes & gift shops.

I know this is a very uninspiring, maybe even boring shot, but these dolls, when just laying around doing nothing... they are so beautiful and I really enjoy looking at them like this, you know, after having changed their clothes, or after having taken their "proper" picture, I sometimes like to keep them close, like if I watch TV or read. and then just stare at them every now and again. and then I put them back on the shelf.
Fraser Nelson, the highly regarded editor of The Spectator, was in Teddington this evening, where he gave a wide-ranging ‘in conversation’ talk about the state of British politics, journalism, ethics and religion. As would be expected of a journalist of his calibre and intellect, it was a stimulating evening.
In addition to his work at The Spectator, Fraser Nelson is a frequent contributor to political programmes on radio and television, he writes guest columns for many newspapers, and he’s a member of the advisory board for the Centre of Social Justice and the Centre for Policy Studies. A recipient of the Political Journalist of the Year Award, he was also named one of the most influential journalists working in London. Listening to him and engaging with him last night, it was easy to see why.
♦ Update: Fraser Nelson resigned from The Spectator in 2024, following its acquisition by a new owner. He now writes a weekly column for The Times newspaper, and he serves on the advisory boards for the Centre for Policy Studies and the Centre for Social Justice. He also works as a media commentator and is much in demand.

Once a year a pull out a few sets from years past to start of the new year. In 2024 this year I have went back & revamped one of my favorite severe storms photo shoots of 2018

About that evening...
An epic night of sunset light and storm light @ twilight. Its almost every storm chasers dreams... or at least, in my own opinion, to get along side of a storm like this, as its firing away some incredible CC & CG every few seconds. What more could you ask for...
I was that Lucky Guy that evening. Just mother nature and I. Close to home after a few long storm chasing jaunts is just fine by me. She was producing and I was capturing every incredible second of this storm.. No Forking Bolt went away that evening without me getting a snap of its presence..
