I like Edison light bulbs and because they are considered 'decorative', they do not fall into the mandate to rid the world of incandescent bulbs. I love the filaments inside, but they are rather delicate and break easily.

The original colour version of a previous upload taken at a workshop session with my local camera club. This is an Edison Standard Phonograph manufactured by Thomas A Edison c.1900 at Orange N.J. USA. It plays cylindrical grooved "records" (in the cases in front of the machine) and is clockwork driven. This one belongs to a work colleague of mine and is still in working order. Best viewed large.
Thomas Edison stands tall along the St. Clair River just south of the Blue water Bridge and across from the old GTW depot that he once worked at. Everyone knows who Thomas Edison was.. if not go back to school, But what a lot of people don't know is he started out selling his newspaper on the Grand Trunk between Port Huron and Detroit and well from there its all history as you know.
