The building “The Edge” is an eleven-storey glass prism. An office building with a dynamic expression. Its continuous glass facade interplays between transparent, translucent and opaque. A true signature building in its neighborhood.
Macro Mondays: Edge.
In this shot of the Pacific Tree Frog (Hyla regilla), there are two edges represented.
Edge 1: I was trying to capture the leaf edge to show how thin the support structure was for it's perch, a Blueberry plant; which nevertheless, is sufficiently strong enough to support the frog's small 3/4 - 2 inch frame.
Edge 2: The most important edge of all. Amphibian's populations worldwide are declining rapidly and becoming extinct (approx. 200 sp. to date), due to chytridiomycosis, a fungal infection. The fungus is in British Columbia, and from what data I could gather, the Rough-skin Newts and Western Toads are among those at risk.
The Pacific Tree Frog, so far, has not been affected. This could be due to the fact that the frogs with extra moist skin, who like to sun themselves for longer, kill the fungus on their skin with the sun's heat.
So, this shot, which I darkened the surroundings to represent the impending doom for so many species worldwide, stands for those amphibians hovering on the edge of non-existence.

Photo taken 1,598 m high on Hurricane Ridge on the Olympic Peninsula. A mountain complex inside the Olympic National Park in Washington State. I did a series of photos in an afternoon and stayed until the end of the sunset. Very cold, frosty winds but worth witnessing this beautiful monument of nature. This is a shot of the EDGE East Side Tower, a 36-storey (142 metres) skyscraper in Berlin, Germany. It is currently the tallest multi-story building in the city and is right next to the East Side Mall and close to the East Side Gallery. The office space amounts to around 65,000 sqm and the main tenant currently is amazon. The first two floors are open to the public with restaurants and cafés and apparently there was also a bar planned on the roof of the tower.
The distinctive Crested Caracara “combines the raptorial instincts of the eagle with the base carrion-feeding habits of the vulture” Called ignoble, miserable, and aggressive, yet also dashing, stately, and noble, this medium-sized raptor, with its bold black-and-white plumage and bright yellow-orange face and legs, is easily recognizable as it perches conspicuously on a high point in the landscape. In flight it can be distinguished by its regular, powerful wing-beats as it cruises low across the ground or just above the treetops. Known locally in some areas as the “Mexican buzzard”, the Crested Caracara is an opportunist and is commonly seen walking about open fields, pastures, and road edges, feeding on a variety of invertebrate and vertebrate prey, as well as on carrion, often in the company of other avian scavengers. The name “caracara” is said to be of Guarani Indian origin, traro-traro, derived from the unusual rattling vocalization that the bird utters when agitated. A common subject of folklore and legends throughout Central and South America, the Crested Caracara is sometimes referred to as the "Mexican eagle."
I found this one along Canoe Creek Road finishing off some "Road Kill", in Osceola County, Florida.

Another "along the path" attraction. Another plant I have no ID for. Another thing that took my breath away.

Blackstone Edge
Blackstone Edge is a gritstone escarpment standing at 1,549 feet above sea level in the Pennine hills, it is surrounded by moorland on the boundary between Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire. It appears to have spent its history swapping between the counties of a Lancashire and Yorkshire and I’m still not sure which bit is where, though this area of Lancashire in now part of Greater Manchester, the Flickr map is showing it in Calderdale which is in Yorkshire.
During the English Civil war 800 men were deployed to defend this area from the Royalists, I really don’t know why, but I bet those men hated this posting because much of the time the weather here is less than pleasant. It turns out they were successful in defeating a Royalist attack. Someone was grateful because in 1660 the churchwardens of St Chad's paid 24 shillings for eight loads of "great stones from Blackstoneedge" for the church steps in Rochdale. You can see the town of Rochdale from the top, it would have been quite some undertaking getting the rocks down from up here.

Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
Drove by the Boatshed to get the customary shot while in Perth. There was a NO ENTRY sign hence had to take it with the huge expanse of water and sky behind it.
A view of Curbar Edge shortly after sunrise with a few photographers enjoyed the crisp, morning air.
Back to Froggatt Edge again today and another shot taken last Saturday evening, I've already posted several shots of the sunset which was lovely but waiting for the afterglow was even more spectacular. The sky lit up with an amazing display of vibrant colours so I decided to go with a panoramic shot to include as much of the afterglow as I could taking 4 images to capture the sky, edge and view over the valley.
