Blissfest is an annual music festival that is held at the northern part of Michigan's lower peninsula. This was the 33rd year and the biggest yet.
I met Ray as walking in the woods taking pictures. He has a nice Canon with a zoom lens. He readily agreed to have his picture taken. He lives in southwest Michigan, around Kalamazoo.

Day 6: Edinburgh Day
Today I had haggis with my breakfast. It wasn’t bad!
Then I went back to bed while Ed climbed back up the hills outside our window. My knees needed the break!
When he got back we spent some nice time just hanging out, lounging around and getting to know each other better before heading out to tackle Edinburgh again. We went back to visit Greyfriars Kirkyard in the daylight. It was still quite dreary and drizzly out but we got some nice photos.
We wandered the streets, marveling at the amazing colors and ancient architecture and Ed acquired a new CD of monastic music… “Can you get my coffee? The monk took my money.”
We then went home, prettied ourselves up and headed downstairs to the hotel bar (both quaint and charming) for our first Scotch Whisky before a fancy dinner at The Witchery (to the left in the photo above) thanks in large part to Ed’s very sweet sister, Emily. The Witchery is a quite unique restaurant, really unlike anything I have ever experienced! It’s got an interesting atmosphere and is unbelievably expensive! We did not order one of their £3500 bottles of wine. But we did have a really nice time.
After dinner we returned to the hotel bar. The owner’s are such characters and we chatted with them and a couple other guests over whisky for what must have been hours. Frisky Risky Whisky Ed was unfortunately subjected to numerous types of whisky, including a really smoky one that I thought would be the death of him!
“That was unexpected” – a good summation of the whole day and very nice night. :)
Note: I think I like this similar photo better, but I chose this one for my photo of the day because it’s a little more meaningful as far as remembering the day goes.
