My good friend Pippa has house concerts occasionally. My favorite performers are Ed Miller and John Taylor. I always enjoy their concerts. Ed is a singer and guitar player and John plays the fiddle.
Ed Nicoll, company secretary of Arbroath Herald Ltd, photographed in June, 1990 at Arbroath railway station to mark his great interest in railways and in particular timetabling.
I was taking some scenic photos at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival and saw Spooner. He learned how to croquet from his grandmother in 1964. He started his first business in 1967. Now he is the owner of the Security Blanket Company. He has met some celebrities because of his business. As soon as I gave him my card, he gave me his card. I missed him when I went to the Ann Arbor Art Fair.

Ed is one of the team who looks after the lovely garden at Barnsley House, Gloucestershire where his duties include tending a collection of rare vegetables - including an unusual purpled flowered broad bean and ancient varieties of climbing beans and peas, including some first grown by the Native Americans. He saves many of the rare seeds from these plants for the national seed bank. Ed is also trialling the planting of three different exotic vegetables in a single bed, where they work in harmony to provide nutrients for each other and organically create the perfect growing environment.

Super Tour 1983, two weeks of criss-crossing the Sierra Nevada mountains averaging 100 miles and 10,000 feet of climbing a day.; Fully supported.
This was late June and some of the Sierra passes were still snowed in or recently opened.
I think this is the first day (still had energy to use the camera) after crossing Feather River, Yuba and Donner Pass.
I was riding my Jack Taylor with a triple 32 x 28 low gear and Ed was riding one of his road racing frames with Campy road gearing 42 x 26 (?}
1983 was the year that Ed would build my future wife (would not meet her until 1986 but this was a contributing factor), Dale's road bike.

Ed Sullivan was a TV host on the CBS Network for 25 years. He had his own show which was called the Ed Sullivan Show. The studio he recorded in is now called the Ed Sullivan Theater, which is where the David Leterman Show is recorded. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the most popular shows of CBS in the 1950's and 1960"s. He has a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, Ca. He is entombed in Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
