The Santa Maria Valley lugs a decent train along at 5mph, as it departs the UP yard in Guadalupe. The majority of this train is bound for storage, while a handful of cars are bound for the SMV's active customers.

You can't always have everything in life - I really would have liked the Big Easy to be illuminated but it wasn't - maybe if I had waited past blue hour they would have switched the lights on. Never mind- I was happy to reach this location that had been on my list for quite a while. We visited Canary Wharf to see the winter light displays and just nipped round the corner for this shot first.

I have driven by this scene many times but have not seen a train in a good position.
As a side note, my computer has given up... editing is not as easy right now.
The moose in Chugach State Park were easy on me this year. I didn’t have to hike miles in order to find them. They spent at least a few days in the vicinity of the parking lot. This made for some dramatic photos. The area boasts beautiful views of Flattop Mountain and several big boys didn’t seem to mind hanging out in the foreground for photos. A few bulls were just beginning to show signs of losing the velvet on the tips of their antlers. Although they are wild they seem to show remarkable tolerance for the humans that share the park in large numbers. It’s important to remember that although these large deer seem extremely docile, they can attack even when unprovoked and can severely injure or worse. #Moose
Although a fixture in the yard and always ready to come for a hand feeding, Chickadees are not all that sociable with each other, especially where food is involved!

It becomes increasingly easier for Hares to play hide and seek in the growing crops. I truly enjoy laying flat on the ground and capture them as they come by.

Musical enjoyment used to be only live and local. If you wanted to hear music from a different culture, you probably had to take a trip. Over the years it's gotten easier and easier to not only listen to any music you want, but it's now pretty danged simple to make high-quality recordings and share from anywhere you are in the world to just about anywhere else. Listening is so much easier these days. Musical enjoyment has really evolved.

In 2009 and 2013, Peter Fonda was a guest at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where he produced a replica of his Captain America motorcycle from the Easy Rider movie.
