I came across this field full of snow geese and noticed that they were in rows !!!! Very orderly, I must say !! Actually, they had landed in the stubble of a harvested corn field and it is easier for them to navigate by staying in the corn rows !! Maxatawny Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Never easy, always messy but worth it to get those delicious shiny red jewels and all that juice. Pomegranates are rich in vitamin C, potassium, and fibre. Not forgetting the seeds contain a high number of antioxidants. The majority of that fibre is found in the white seeds. The pomegranate contains 48 percent of the recommended daily vitamin C intake. Another love of mine.
This predator, probably a wolf or bear (who can tell for sure), waits patiently under the tree for its prey, protected by the thick fog.

With all of these Hooded Mergensers floating along the canal it was easy to overlook one lonely solitary duck that looked out of place. As I moved towards it down the bank, it seemed as curious about me as I was of this off duck and floated towards me for a closer look.

All you have to do is drive until you see a headlight in the distance. Pick your spot, take the picture and drive until you see the next headlight. At least that's how it was when I visited the UP mainline Nebraska in the 2010's. Just another one of UP's innumerable freights passing the now demolished mill at Paddock, just west of Central City.
Es ist immer wieder eine Freude diese winzigen Schätze der Natur zu finden. Beim Rotköpfigen Schleimpilz (Trichia decipiens) wird dies sicher noch durch die Signalfarbe erleichtert. Diese ansehnliche Gruppe entdeckte ich an einem schon stark zersetzten Baumstamm.
It is always a delight to find these tiny treasures of nature. In the case of the red-headed slime mold (*Trichia decipiens*), this is certainly made easier by its striking color. I discovered this impressive cluster on a tree trunk that was already heavily decayed.

this year I went simple... purchased a 6 foot pencil tree and the only decorations are these floral picks and ribbon...
the tree is only 13 pounds, so easy to store in the attic...
As I get older, the easier the better!!

This is a really clever puzzle by Perpetual Puzzles. There are various levels of difficulty - this being an easy one - and I've never managed to solve the most difficult. It's additive and endlessly frustrating!
On a different note, I took this using a 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, and I've decided that for the next week this is the only lens I'm going to use. There are two Canon 50mm f/1.8 lenses and I happened to buy the wrong one for the sake of a few pounds. The focusing is slow and noisy, but it has an aperture of 1.8 and still gets good reviews for quality, so I need to play around to try and make the most of the lens I have, rather than mourn the one I should have bought.
