Always a thrill to photograph owls in the wild.

It is even more fun when it is a species of owl that you have not seen before.

I was just sitting outside with alex and decided to put all my plugs and tapers that I had in his ear. Obviously his ear is already stretched to an inch I just thought it looked cool!

Most people had gone home.

The silence was music to my ears, never a complete silence, a hum, a flutter, a good-night call, the wind...

A beautiful moment where day ends in glory, already embracing the incoming darkness for a well-earned rest.

I was nominated by Jo Boey to participate in the 7 nature photography challenge. Thank you Jo, I enjoyed it very much, hope you did too?

My partner-in-awe spotted a pair of ears sticking up in a field as we drove past. What followed was a bunanza of photo opps with an unusually cooperative (and very large!) bunny! Definitely not moribund, more like floribun!

Normally, Havoc's ears are positioned toward the back of his head. I got his attention by whistling a tune I remember from the 1960s. He paid close attention!

Janice asked me why I'd chosen that old tune. It's just what popped into my head . . .

Catching last rays of setting sun and marveling over this new Golden Ears Bridge over Fraser River . Yes .. we have bridges in our city and there is something special about bridges and us . Just like railways , burns , lonely trees , cascading streams … like moth to the flame . One day someone e should build a bridge over the river full of rapids that the steam trains fill be crossing every 10 minutes with an old burn at one end and lonely old oak tree at the other and sell tours to photographers … let's make the river filled with salmons with bears and eagles that move accordingly to the best exposure.

Very special “Thank you” to Doreen , very nice lady that let us in to take images of the bridge.

BTW more info on this bridge
