I give most of these abstract, ever-changing water reflections a simple date and time for a title because they record a unique and fleeting moment in time (and, let's be honest, because it's easier than thinking of words for each one!).
Built on a disused rail corridor, The Goods Line in Ultimo is Sydney’s equivalent of Manhattan’s High Line – a strategic pedestrian connection through unique green spaces in the inner city.
Extending from the end of Central Station’s Devonshire St Tunnel to Darling Harbour, The Goods Line links key landmarks along the ‘cultural ribbon’ on the southern fringe of the Sydney CBD. These landmarks include UTS, Chinatown, the Powerhouse Museum and the ABC.
Each week thousands of university students, workers, visitors and local residents make use of the elevated city park, which offers a variety of leafy and relaxed outdoor environments along the route through the UTS campus between Central Station and Darling Harbour.

I visit the John F Kennedy Arboretum near New Ross quite regularly so I have decided to take a photo each month (from approximately the same spot) to document the subtle changes in this huge Magnolia tree as the seasons change. According to the metal plaque on the tree the species is Magnolia campbellii 'mollicomata'.
This is the album which will feature 12 images by the end of 2022 www.flickr.com/photos/juliek1967/albums/72177720295726328
The changes I noticed from the January photo are how everything looks more green! The mass of brown leaf litter has shrunk, Daffodils & Snowdrops have begun to flower and one or 2 Magnolia flower buds are just starting to show some pink. Probably best viewed large to see the details.
14/100 my 100 x photos this year will be of foliage: either woodland scenes, individual trees, plants or fallen leaves 🍁🍂🌿🍀
We are usually impressed by something big – be it a mighty building, a tall person, or simply an oversized pizza. The big picture asserts itself, takes up space, and demands attention. It appears powerful, loud, and impressive.
But the big picture never stands alone. Beneath its wheels lie countless small stones, inconspicuous and easily overlooked. Each one seems insignificant on its own – and yet together they bear the weight.
The small whispers where the big picture thunders. It lies in the details, in the silence, in the everyday. Without the many small things, the big picture would have no support.

These here are the stems of Narcissus... one... with ATTITUDE and great nonchalance, not a care in the world... whistling???
Stems have four main functions which are:
* Support for and the elevation of leaves, flowers and fruits. The stems keep the leaves in the light and provide a place for the plant to keep its flowers and fruits.
* Transport of fluids between the roots and the shoots and blooms .
* Storage of nutrients.
* The production of new living tissue. The normal life span of plant cells is one to three years. Stems have cells called meristems that annually generate new living tissue.
Each time I think... that's it, there's only so much you can do with flowers... and yet again and again, I'll see something new.
Being creative is not a choice... it is an urge in me.
THANK you for ALL your comments and visits, so appreciated.
Have a wonderful day, filled with love and beauty, M, (*_*)

Took 2 photos of our Dove this morning, one didn't come out; so it got binned, but this one was OK. Since then I've not picked up my camera, other than to upload the photo.
Back tomorrow. Flickr is being a pain here. :0(

The main difference from my March photo is the complete absence of pink flowers, they aren't even on the ground. Lots of fresh new leaves unfurling. Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!

15th August 2021 :
I found the kitchen!
Not only did I find the kitchen, but I also cooked our lunch from scratch. (I did buy the pastry). Chicken and mushroom pie, with extra veg served with new potatoes and a sauce. Gravy to most people, but G doesn't do gravy, but will have a sauce. 😉
I took the plate outside to take the photo as the light was better!

29th September 2021 :
I went out this morning and finally got myself a new toy. Having used Graham's laptop for rather longer than I'd hoped, I now have my own ... again.
Not only is it a far larger screen, but it's also much faster than his, which only goes backwards!! I've spent the afternoon getting it organised, but have a few things to tweak, but will do them tomorrow.
A huge bonus was that I didn't have to try and get out of the stupid S mode, as I'd had to with Graham's. Although I'd found instructions on how to and booked marked them on his laptop, if needed.
One very happy me. 😊

2023 one photo each day
It stopped raining for awhile and the sun came out. So before I missed it, I nipped over to the car park. Didn't want to risk going further in case it started raining again.
But, I did find that the Blackthorn berries have appeared, now I need a tub to collect some for the birds. Some fresh fruit to go with the seeds!

Each time a parent brought food to this brood of fledged Tree Swallows, the first to spot the incoming delivery wound up getting the goods. In this case it was the second bird from the left. On Armand bayou.
Just realised I didn't have a photo for today, so here are the trainers I bought this afternoon.
Not a very exciting photo, but it's a photo -----2019 one photo each day.
Rye, Blairgowrie and Sorrento each have calm 'bay-side' opposite 'ocean' beaches. Some of the Ocean beaches get quite wild due to the structure / location of the rocky shelf running along the coast.
This would be one of the more challenging local places to capture a sunset. The light is behind the 'subject' but you want to save some detail in the dark areas. Also keep an eye on the ocean constantly for safety; but also to try time the incoming surges. There are endless possibilities. I took quite a few last night and it's very difficult to choose favourites!

Also written as Preah Vihear Temple is an ancient Hindu temple built by the Khmer Empire, located on top of a 525-metre (1,722 ft) cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains, in the Preah Vihear province of Cambodia. Construction of the first temple on the site began in the early 9th century and is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
14th April 2020:
Wasn't quite sure what was happening today, so while I had the chance to get something for today, I grabbed a photo of the daisies in the garden. Liked it, so decided to use it. I had been trying to photo a Sparrow or two, but they weren't being co-operative!!

Canadian Geese on Wildwing Lake.
Two sizes of Canadian Geese exist. A small 22 to 26 inch and a large 35-45 inch version. They have a brownish body with a black head, long blackneck and which cheeck patch. The smaller version has a shorter neck and lacks the cheeck patch.
They inhabit lakes, bays, rivers and marshes. They often feed in open grasslands and stubble fields.
They range from Alaska each to Baffin Island and south to California, Illinoise and Massachusetts. They winter south to northern Mexico and the Gulf Coast. Widespread as a semi-domesticated bird in city parks and on reservoirs.

It's as good as finished. I've still got to tidy it up, tuck in loose threads and that sort of thing.
A lovely blanket to knit, simple, but with a few parts that made you keep alert, which was good.
Wish I'd got somewhere better to show it off, but the washing line was the only place. Didn't work hanging over the top of a door!
For those of you interested the name of the blanket and creator are in my Tags.
