A very rare westbound manifest passes through Nephi, UT. The train was running under the symbol of MSCWCX-22
The third trip of the Immaculate Conception School North Pole Express Train is running eastbound passing through the salt hay marshes along the Rowley River. The annual holiday train makes 5 round trips between Newburyport and Beverly. Kids are entertained by a cast of holiday characters including Santa himself. The locomotive for the 8 car train was one of the 40 GE GEVO powered HSP46 units built by Motive Power, Inc. for the MBTA between 2013 and 2014.

The Downeaster's Saturday evening Portland Extra was "cancelled" due to a lack of equipment (in particular, Amfleets) needed to build a consist capable of traveling at track speed on the Main. The assigned crew instead attached their engine (P42 no. 93) to the back of Train 698 and piggybacked their way to North Station. They then embarked on a crosstown move, picked up a new Amfleet coach from South Station, and zipped their way back to Portland.
In perfect light, we see 698 barreling towards Winnocks Neck Road on the Scarborough Marsh. Phase VI P42 no. 108 can be seen nose to nose with the 93 at the back of the consist.
With the sanders activated to provide extra traction, three units slowly crawl their way up the grade into Palmer Lake with a loaded ballast train.
With about 40 cars in tow, D907 heads east out of Grand Rapids behind a pair of CSX GEs. The extra crew was called to bring the train back to Lansing after the original crew outlawed in GR.

Amidst a snow storm we see a late running Mail train climbing Beattock at Greskine. This is 1S02, 08:03 Warrington RMT-Shieldmuir Mail train, which is running 97 minutes late at this point after leaving Warrington 101 late. Immaculate 325007 leads 325013 on the 14th December 2017 at 1154. This is one of the extra services running on the run up to Christmas.
When more lines are needed just put an extra spar on the pole! I guess one day the power company will run out of room!

Despite the brief and unforgivably grainy nature of this little video I'm sure that certain people will recognise this rather distinctive of boxes, as it flashes across the screen, and hence be able to surmise with accuracy it's contents. (though only guess at the colour there-of)
However for those who don't find the box familiar, or were distracted by my outfit and have a need to know, the identity of it's contents is revealed further along in my photo-stream.

Keolis Extra 2025 is seen passing the former B&M Lancaster Freight House in Lancaster, MA as they qualify crews on the Pan Am Worcester Main to account for track work scheduled on the Grand Junction in the coming weeks.
Running as W70, this extra 370, makes its way northbound though Lindale, Georgia as the clouds began to clear and the sun finally made its appearance. The trio of western GEs was a nice treat for a manifest.
Temporarily out of real stuff, so relegated to digital diddling.

Interstate Concrete and Asphalt's Freightliner mixer can gross at 72000 lbs/ 32.6 tonnes on 5-axles.
Business was so good on the GB&W in spring 1977 that I was able to shoot a westbound extra running about 4 hours ahead of number 1 leaving Green Bay. This was the same spot that I'd shot number 1 in the prior October in much better light. Just about to cross Military Avenue the 310 and 309 have 65 cars in tow as they head for the Rapids.
