Street shooting in Liverpool, NSW a few weeks ago. This "extra chatty" old man was obviously making this woman uncomfortable so I thought I'd see his reaction if I took a photo. Needless to say he was not impressed when he noticed me about to click the shutter. I told him I was taking a photo of that cool looking trolley of capsicum.

The Downeaster's Saturday evening Portland Extra was "cancelled" due to a lack of equipment (in particular, Amfleets) needed to build a consist capable of traveling at track speed on the Main. The assigned crew instead attached their engine (P42 no. 93) to the back of Train 698 and piggybacked their way to North Station. They then embarked on a crosstown move, picked up a new Amfleet coach from South Station, and zipped their way back to Portland.
In perfect light, we see 698 barreling towards Winnocks Neck Road on the Scarborough Marsh. Phase VI P42 no. 108 can be seen nose to nose with the 93 at the back of the consist.
With about 40 cars in tow, D907 heads east out of Grand Rapids behind a pair of CSX GEs. The extra crew was called to bring the train back to Lansing after the original crew outlawed in GR.

This is how I keep and sort all of the extra LEGO heads I have not currently being used for another purpose. I put all similar heads together and have a stick in the middle of the wheel so I can spin it around and look at all of the heads on the other side. It's a pretty nice thing for quickly locating a head I want.
When more lines are needed just put an extra spar on the pole! I guess one day the power company will run out of room!

Running as W70, this extra 370, makes its way northbound though Lindale, Georgia as the clouds began to clear and the sun finally made its appearance. The trio of western GEs was a nice treat for a manifest.
Temporarily out of real stuff, so relegated to digital diddling.

Business was so good on the GB&W in spring 1977 that I was able to shoot a westbound extra running about 4 hours ahead of number 1 leaving Green Bay. This was the same spot that I'd shot number 1 in the prior October in much better light. Just about to cross Military Avenue the 310 and 309 have 65 cars in tow as they head for the Rapids.
