“"When you wake up in the morning, Pooh," said Piglet at last, "what's the first thing you say to yourself?"
"What's for breakfast?" said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?"
"I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully.
"It's the same thing," he said.”

The most exciting thing is always at the border. Be it the boundary between light and dark or between cold and warm or between fog and sunshine.

Whilst exciting to see, this bird very soon flooded the internet beyond even biblical proportions. Such was the deluge of photos even Noah couldn't cope.
With this in mind I didn't post too many pics at the time. So with the excitement fully quelled here's one from the archives.

It's an exciting place to visit in Little Compton, RI.
Go out to the very tip of the point (where you see can the couple walking if you zoom in) and you'll find a narrow sand strip with waves coming at you from both sides! Very tide dependent, obviously.
In the distant horizon, you can see several islands. I think the one you can see closest to shore once hosted an elite fishing club, but it's long gone and just a few structural elements remain.
Driving along this beautiful street was exciting, completely surrounded by the colorful foliage and in a complete serenity.
It was such a wonderful experience, and currently we miss it a lot.

“The books transported her into new worlds and introduced her to amazing people who lived exciting lives. She went on olden-day sailing ships with Joseph Conrad. She went to Africa with Ernest Hemingway and to India with Rudyard Kipling. She travelled all over the world while sitting in her little room in an English village.”

The appearance of the Moon has always been an exciting event, even more so when it comes out accompanied by whispering clouds, like the ones I photographed in the morning.
In this case, the Snow Moon rises above the sky of Madrid. Although this year we have not seen snow in Madrid capital, the name of this Full Moon is really suggestive and brings me closer to other climates, where snow dominates the weather in this cold and short month.
You like? I hope so.
I hope you can see the Full Snow Moon whenever you are and feel the same emotion that I feel every time I see it.
Have a great Wednesday or Thursday, depending on when you see this photo.

Not the most exciting subject but for some reason I liked the results. When I took the photo I hadn't planned on posting it.
I took this with the Meyer-Optik Goerlitz Trioplan f2.8/100 lens with the lens wide open at f2.8.
Very exciting to find so many Halloween & Calico pennants at the reservoir this week! Today's our anniversary - a semi-big one ;-) ... have a good Friday.

An exciting morning! This very rare visitor to our area made an appearance today at the Morro Bay State Park Marina, much to the delight of our small group of birders who followed his every move from one end of the Marina to the other!
and exciting their jealousies and apprehensions, to throw affairs into confusion, and bring on civil commotion :-)

bee balm, 'Leading Lady Lilac',
my yard, cary, north Carolina. a recent purchase from plant delights nursery
This is SO exciting. I was just lamenting to JP how my yard has not attracted any green bees since my gaura died off, one by one, over several years. Last fall, I began replacing them, hoping the green sweat bees would find them again. Rather, here's my first, on a giant sunflower. Gave me 5 seconds and it was off. I'm thrilled I got an image at all, in focus. Frankly, I prefer my bees in profile, but the entire summer lies ahead.
A note about the sunflower. It's wild in my yard. Usually, I pull up plants I didn't plant, unless of course it's a California Poppy. This year, I gave the sunflowers some leeway. Turns out they're of course near the couple of birdie feeders, and when they were just sprouting up I noticed the Lesser Goldfinches love to perch on them before they dive for the feeder or seeds that have fallen. I really had no idea what these plants were till I started to see the buds. So there you have it.
Check it large. The flowering flower is pretty remarkable.
.... if the most exciting event is a nap on a shoe.
It has been raining almost all day which means that Cleo is comatose, Fynn is out all day and enjoys getting wet and Linus is bored. When I took some photos of shoes he joined me and eventually fell asleep on my props. There is another capture of the shoes in the comments. They belong to my niece Natalie who temporarily lives in Cleo's hibernation room in the basement. I love Natalie but what really drives me nuts is that she leaves her stuff everywhere, especially her shoes. As the weather was too bad for taking photos outdoors I thought I could just as well use the shoes for some photos, mainly in order to test different types of lighting. For the photo in the comments I used an external flash plus the softbox. It was really very dark and I think the lighting worked pretty well although I still needed the tripod. For the Linus photo I only used the softbox and a reflector, the flash was off.
after all exciting adventures, isn't home the best place on earth? for some of us it's a place like shown above, a cozy sofa and a thrilling new netflix show, for others it's just a place where you feel at home because of the people around.

if you like to know where a certain product shown in my picture is from, please feel free to ask.
An exciting, as well as scenic, place to live. This landslip is called Burning Cliff; it sometimes catches fire and can remain alight for several years. This is due to oil shales contained within the Kimmeridge clay. After a landslide, these ignite when exposed to the air. However, danger may not be imminent. The last time this happened was in 1826, although there have been recent fires elsewhere along this line of coast.
Exciting to spot this wild Stallion on the edge of the forest with its thick winter coat, over grown forelock and mane. The Alberta foothills is home to hundreds of wild Horses believed to be descendants of domestic horses used in logging and guiding/outfitting operations in the early 1900s.

Christchurch's Cashel street is an interesting place to shop and look around. The buildings are modern and new as all of them were demolished after the 2011 earthquake. They're building a beautiful new city that is exciting with wonderful wide streets, broad footpaths and plenty of seating. The tram passes along this street, you can get on and off as much as you like.
ot exciting for most of you but their so scarce locally I was over the moon to get this nice adult .As the old saying goes you don't know what you have until its gone !!

The most exciting event at our new home this past year (other than the King Cobra in the yard) was the hoopoe nest in the roof of our house. It was a delight to watch these beautiful birds as mom and dad would constantly be foraging for the nestlings. The main course seemed to be spiders. After the nestlings fledged they would sit on our front porch just inches away from the windows.
Wikipedia: The Eurasian hoopoe (Upupa epops) is the most widespread species of the genus Upupa. It is a distinctive cinnamon colored bird with black and white wings, a tall erectile crest, a broad white band across a black tail, and a long narrow downcurved bill. Its call is a soft "oop-oop-oop". It is native to Europe, Asia and the northern half of Africa.

Exhilarating watching when the waves are putting on a show of power, these along the rocky edges of Portland the place with its well known lighthouse, Portland Bill near Weymouth, Dorset.
I received some exciting news !!! the Royal Alberta Museum ask me if they can use this picture to illustrate the badlands in Alberta.
Always exciting to find the first hamamelis in bloom with its strange configuration in the flowers and its beautiful haunting scent.
I usually find them in Hilliers Gardens but now we have this one of our own, in a pot on the deck.
A little research for the origins of the name of this shrub gave me different answers but my favourite explanation is this:
.....the flexible forked twigs of witch hazel are preferred as divining rods. Regardless, modern witches do consider witch hazel a magical plant, to ward off evil and to help heal a broken heart. 'Hazel' because the plant's leaves resemble those of a hazelnut tree.

"Where today?" Is asking Matilda "We have not been out for a while!"
"Time to see the place where I met Ilona" says Paddington
"That sounds very exciting!" Replies Frīda. " I guess it happened somewhere in gardens"
"Here you are wrong, Frīda! We met at Paddington!" Smiles Paddington
"How can it be?" Matilda wonders "Paddington in Paddington?"
" Let's go and see what and where it is!"
And friends are ready for a trip
Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday to everyone who loves Teddy Bears!

Paddington is an area in the City of Westminster, in central London, England. A medieval parish then a metropolitan borough of the County of London, it was integrated with Westminster and Greater London in 1965. Paddington station, designed by the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel opened in 1847.

Paddington Bear is a young bear, who can walk and talk, travels to London from the jungles of Peru. There, he is adopted by the Brown family. The Browns decided to name the new member of their family Paddington, after the place ( Paddington station) where he was found, although we later learn that in Peru Paddington was called Pastuso, after his uncle. When he was found, Paddington wasn't too sure how old he was so the Browns decided to start again at one.
after such good and exciting news earlier today, I decided to take my fur babies out for a walk myself.....

This isn't the usual type of image I post on Flickr. Not that I have a style (I don't think) and I do like to experiment. Yesterday, being September 1, was exciting to me because it means my favourite season, autumn, is coming. That said, it was still a really warm day so we went to Kits Beach over town (meaning Vancouver as opposed to North Vancouver). The beach was full of volleyball nets nearly as far as the eye could see. Here, one of the games had just finished, and when I saw the two guys sitting on the log chatting, with the other players still on the sand, I had to capture it.
Happy Easter and spring to all my friends and contacts. If it's not Easter and it's not spring in your world, then just have a happy day.
It's been very exciting to see this behavior from my deck. This male Red-bellied Woodpecker has been gathering food (mostly berries and peanut butter suet) and caching it in tree cavities for its Juvenile to find. The Juvenile is usually in a nearby tree and once the adult flies off, it comes in and tries to find the food and then has its little feast.
This guy is why I went to the forest this morning. I heard them all morning, but could not see one. Finally after four hours this guy came into the open while chasing a caterpiler. A long shot, but still happy to get it. The Yellow-billed Cuckoo is something we look for every spring.
