Today we excited to explore a bit the route from Svensby towards Lyngen and the heart of the Lyngen Alps. Given that day light lasted about 2 hours, we did most of the driving in almost perfect darkness. The amazing thing is you get outside, set up your gear and take a long exposure and in front of your eyes landscapes of pure fairytales emerge in the viewer of your camera :)

I’m excited to show you my outfit today! I’ve been wanting to blog this one since I first saw it at Kinky, but I’ve been super busy that I’m just now squeezing it in.
The gorgeous long braided hair is from [^.^Ayashi^.^] called Kimiko. Like all of Ayashi’s hair, this has a few different packs you can purchase. Our grandkids' teddy bear got so excited when he heard they were coming for the Fourth next week. He just couldn't sit still!

I was real excited to get head-on shots of this Killdeer. They are very noisy so he gave me some warning as I was shooting some Sanderlings on the ground. I got a series of 7 or 8 shots, all in decent focus.

I was pretty excited today to spot my first Harris's Sparrow as I never saw one in the spring –which is pretty typical for me. I think I've only ever seen one in springtime and they look very different with a partially black face and bib. I believe this one would be an immature/first year, not having grown into that dark color yet. I'm lucky if I see one Harris's Sparrow each year. Sherburne County, MN 10/03/20
Can you image me being excited by the display of all these warm colors! I usually leave the sun out of my photo but today the colors appeared after sunrise. Isn't this a lovely jetty, but I wonder .... why isn't it symmetrical?

This picture looks harder than it is because the word was soo long. I had to do it a couple times. By the 6th time, I was able to write the words faster and nicer.

Excited by my newest camera. I new when I shot this on my Olympus XA it would not be able to focus close enough, but hey.
Bald Eagles mate for life. The females are usually larger - perhaps the one on the left. She was perched alone with command of the beach below when her juvenile offspring caused her to momentarily "jump" to avoid his erratic landing. Her protests were notable and loud enough to summon Dad who also got in on the act. The youngster found a place to land a couple of trees down.

Late July 2023...
This month of storms was just down right jaw dropping. Why not continue since we didn't have any storms in May or June! Overtime for July is the way I like it!
90% of the time of year in South Central Nebraska is Hot & Humid. It is normally the beginning of our dry season. But not in 2023.
In the path of the Jet Stream that day that forced some severe thunderstorm development over south central Nebraska. We were not excepting anything super severe but a tornado or 2 is always possible this time of year.
Gear Primed & excited about the views I'm going to get for this event that day. I knew they were going to be photogenic.

We were excited to arrive at the Wetlands before sunrise and spot Black Skimmers doing their thing. It's so cool to watch and photograph. I set up and started practicing on them with thoughts about how good this would be when the sun broke the horizon. They took the same two flight paths which made it easier to track them. Soon there were only two. Then there was one. Seconds before the sun rose, this one also flew off in another direction (darn)!. This is not the most technically perfect image but I kind of like it, noise and all.

Happy Tuesday <3 Winds have died down but getting lots of snow.
Here I am, standing on the shoreline just after 3:30 in the morning, the horizon is already ablaze with colour, I’m excited. My tripod is already out and waiting for the camera as I rapidly change my lens under the illumination of my head torch, I’ll use my super EF16-35 f4L, I’m excited. I look for an early composition, these rock platforms look fantastic, leading lines galore carved out by millennia of sea erosion, I’m excited. It’s still low light, to keep that colour on the horizon I need a ND grad, I decide to use a medium 2 stop to lift the foreground darkness, I’m excited. I frame the image, check the settings, f11, calculate the shutter speed, back to ISO 100 and bulb, this is fun, I’m excited. The first photo taken with a 76 second exposure, I check the results but no pressure it’s still 40 minutes from sunrise, did I say I’m excited. The first photo of the morning, the day before the summer solstice, the time is 3:40.
Feeling excited, I was up early and wanted to play more with creating video content. I am not very familiar with creating and editing video and am disappointed with the noise. It's all part of the process of learning and improving so I will accept the results and move on for the day.
When I learned about the Bricknerd Pirates competition, I was immediately excited to build a pirate-ship. And after discovering that these hats fit the Simpson cats quite well, I just knew I wanted to go cartoony for the full vibe. It was a bit rushed in the end, but I'm still happy with this little build :)
