1. I am in North Carolina with my sister and mom for my nieces wedding this weekend
2. It is cold enough here for me to wear my Antijenx kitty/devil hat!
3. I am most excited about my flickr meet up with the South Carolina flickr folks..the lovely and talented BluSun *Carrie* and Officially a Mom along with their counterparts Center of the Universe aka: the shirtless boywhore and Ll's World
The Carolina's may not be the same after this weekend

I had the camera set on aperture priority when this young oryx decided to express some joy by skipping across the enclosure. I guess a little blur won't hurt.
The marketing representative at the zoo later emailed me that he nearly spit out his coffee when he saw this photo. The oryxes are usually pretty calm.

Corey loved going on the train to Roath Park Lake, he was very excited, even though it was only a very short journey.
Shortly after suddenly remembering an amusing and interesting story, Elizabeth ran into the room to share it with me. Because, you know, the King has to know these things (I'm the King because she's a princess - that's just how it works).
She was super-excited about it, and was making me laugh... thought I'd spread the mirth.
This Green Heron suddenly decided to demonstrate his "neck extension abilities" - in response to some local noise !! Seen in the Japanese Garden at Woodley Avenue, Van Nuys, CA
As I shot this juvi posing on the branch he assumed this posture and began screeching as he observed his mother approaching from the west with a fish in her talons. She just dropped the fish in the nest and took to the air again as this one joind it's sibling in the nest and squabbled over the tiny fish mom delivered for dinner.
I shot this with my 120-300mm f/2.8 and the 2X TC at ISO 1600

I am so excited to show you this 3 photo series from last nights sunset in Huntington Beach, CA. It may very well be the most unique and beautiful I have ever had the pleasure of photographing!! In the **3rd photograph** a unique thing happened for just a few minutes (maybe less?)- the sunset started glowing GREEN!!! I have never seen this before! It was a wow factor for me. Now I'm not sure if this is a Nikon thing because a few posts back you see my Green Airglow star post of Mono Lake, CA. That night there were several of us out photographing that we all shared images at posting and it was claimed that the Nikon users picked up the green airglow while Canon shooters could not....see also jojo(imagesofdream) and VJClicks streams.....I am curious to see if Canon shooters picked up this surreal green light on the right of the 3rd image?
Either way, there was scores of photographers lined up along the shoreline to capture this fabulous dynamic light display while texts from my friends all over the county came in fast and furious... "Wow, look at the sunset!".... "Wow, are you getting this light??"... "Wow, I hope you are out photographing this sunset right now?".... and so lucky I was!!!!! The buzz was in the air in Southern California last night as I was reminded of why I live here!! Endless beautiful sunsets and Endless summers (the Santa Ana winds are blowing a balmy warmth into the air today which is welcomed by all!!)
I shall ride on Cloud 9 all week in the memory of this fantastic sunset! I hope you like them too?!!! Please tell me which is your favorite?
