Contemplez.

the Meyer's parrot (poicephalus meyeri) is uncommon in southern africa except a few areas in botswana.i tried to catch this bird in tuli block close to a waterhole.they come to drink at morning and later disappear in to the bush.the parrots came but too early, just before the light.
you can see the sunlight with the bird still in to the shade.quite complicate for the feather quality but a nice effect in the background.

Isolation is aloneness that feels forced upon you, like a punishment. Solitude is aloneness you choose and embrace. I think great things can come out of solitude, out of going to a place where all is quiet except the beating of your heart. -Jeanne Marie Laskas
I hope you're not getting tired of my Palouse images - I have many more :)
I do not love you except because I love you;
I go from loving to not loving you,
From waiting to not waiting for you
My heart moves from cold to fire.
I love you only because it's you the one I love;
I hate you deeply, and hating you
Bend to you, and the measure of my changing love for you
Is that I do not see you but love you blindly.
Maybe January light will consume
My heart with its cruel
Ray, stealing my key to true calm.
In this part of the story I am the one who
Dies, the only one, and I will die of love because I love you,
Because I love you, Love, in fire and blood.

Owyhigh Lakes and Governor's Ridge, Mount Rainier National Park, Washington
I hiked to these lakes today and except for some haze due to wildfire smoke drifting down from Canada, it was a "picture perfect" day at Mount Rainier National Park.
This is one of my favorite early summer hikes because it melts out earlier than most higher elevation hikes. The first 3.3 miles climbs up through a lovely forest with huge trees, the sound of the river in the background, and the summer scent of a sun-warmed coniferous forest. Then abruptly the forest ends and suddenly, as if passing through a door to another world, you're in a beautiful and wondrous subalpine meadow full of mountains and flowers. Hiking a bit further takes you to the basin where a pair of lakes lies in front of the rocky rise of Governor's Ridge. I spent a long time in the meadow and basin today enjoying the beautiful weather and soaking in the views.
(On a side note, I'm posting the pano shot I took with my phone because it is a bit of a personal 'triumph' for me. I am notoriously terrible with taking phone pano shots - for some reason keeping the arrow on the line while moving the phone is quite challenging for me. Lol But I finally got one to turn out so I felt like I had to post it!)

Fietsbrug Tegenbosch
In order to improve the connection of the busy Anthony Fokkerweg to the A2, the cycle path on the viaduct had to disappear. For cyclists, a new 160-metre-long bicycle bridge was built over the A2 / N2, which is no less than fourteen lanes wide there, not counting the associated emergency lanes and (central) verges.

I was just lucky to find two different dragonflies the other day by the lake, shot it against the lake, so, no clutter there. And this one happened to rest on this wildflower, couldn't been better. I did have another shot in this setting, except the dragonfly resting on the bottom of the stalk, not being intimate with the flower. SO, I chose this one posted instead.

Dipper
1300.12.10.21
In this series (except for the first 'slow shutter' image), all the dippers pictured were from my second dipper site which is between Bury and Ramsbottom. This image is from the first dipper site which is not far from Bury town centre. The river near the breeding spot is very wide so the opportunity for getting close shots is reduced. It is also a location that is used by dog walkers who throw sticks in the river for their dogs to retrieve. This behaviour whilst understandable does not encourage the birds to come close. The stretch of river is also used by weed smokers and folk whom I would regard as untrustworthy miscreants. So when photographing I took a little risk and so chose my moments before draping camo about my person and lens.
The birds at this site had four chicks that fledged successfully and none got predated. On my last visit, the river was deserted, it was chucking down rain and one of the chicks flew towards my feet and then the whole family of juvs followed waiting to get fed. Both the male and female came in together to feed the chicks...what a joy to have a family of dippers literally around your feet!
Hello my Flickr friends!
Another Monday and another red day at Color My World Daily Group. And the theme at Macro Mondays is: on a coin. I must admit that this was by far the most rules exhaustive theme.
And since I’m collecting coins (yes, if you don’t know yet; I’m a hoarder … but I have other charming qualities which makes me an unique and lovable hoarder, at least it is what I like to think about myself…), I decided to go with an old 10 French francs coin. The main raison is that I’m very nostalgic about French francs era but also because they have a very beautiful words written on the edge, which makes them very interesting.
I choose the word “égalité”, which means equality. In my opinion it is a little bit ironic since money is about everything except equality, don’t you think ?…It is like this funeral home advertisement we had here in Montreal, few years ago, begging us to be careful and stay well during holidays … Do you feel the irony here?? But in the case of 10 French Francs it is a French national motto. The whole inscription is: Liberté, Fraternité, Égalité.
My main subject standing on my 10 Francs coin is my tiny red pencil (once again this is a part of another growing collection of tiny pencils... #hoarderlife). It is a few millimeters smaller than the coin diameter (2,5cm).
And since we all know by now that money, doesn't grow on trees (raise your hand if your parents were saying that exact phrase, it exists even in Polish !!!), I have to run to my office!! Another video meeting and then I will start my day of money making at home!
P.S I think that the phrase "money doesn't grow on trees" should be written on the edge of coins worldwide, as a motto for all kids to learn !!! Who is with me on that one ?
Have an amazing Monday my friends !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

Togakushi mountains except for the southern part taken from a roadside near the Torii gate of Okusha. Three photos were merged to get this image.
Togakushi-yama (戸隠山), Kuzuryuu-yama (九頭龍山) and Takatsuma-yama (高妻山) from left to right are seen across the sanctuary forest of Togakushi Okusha.
It is rare to see such a blue sky in this area in winter.
The dragon usually symbolises the river in Japan and other Asian countries that depend on rice cultivation.
Legend has it that Kuzuryuu or Nine-headed Dragon used to be a fierce god but was penanced by a Buddhist/Shintou priest to become a god of fertility and agriculture. The legend implies a process of flood control and irrigation. Nine heads are an analogy of tributaries of a river.
Except for the problem in its foot, the bird seemed to be ok.
I hope the ID is correct.

A male Red-shafted Northern Flicker in the backyard on a dead branch of the Garry oak tree. I’m hearing and seeing seeing these birds almost daily in the Fall/Winter season.
The Northern Flicker is a common bird in many areas of the Pacific Northwest with two subspecies: the Red-shafted Flicker (C. a. cafer) of western North America and the Yellow-shafted Flicker (C. a. auratus) of the east and far north. Their ranges are roughly divided by the Rocky Mountains except in the northern boreal forest, where the yellow-shafted range extends west across most of Alaska. (Source Ebird.org)

The lesser whitethroat (Curruca curruca) is a common and widespread typical warbler which breeds in temperate Europe, except the southwest, and in the western and central Palearctic. This small passerine bird is strongly migratory, wintering in Africa just south of the Sahara, Arabia and India.
Unlike many typical warblers, the sexes are almost identical. This is a small species with a grey back, whitish underparts, a grey head with a darker "bandit mask" through the eyes and a white throat. It is slightly smaller than the whitethroat, and lacks the chestnut wings and uniform head-face color of that species. The lesser whitethroat's song is a fast and rattling sequence of tet or che calls, quite different from the whitethroat's scolding song.
Like most "warblers", it is insectivorous, but will also take berries and other soft fruit. This is a bird of fairly open country and cultivation, with large bushes for nesting and some trees. The nest is built in low shrub or brambles, and 3 to 7 eggs are laid.

Like many of us I expect, except for the victims of the flooding in the UK .. My heart goes out to them all - especially for those shielding in the ongoing pandemic. I hope and pray for all those affected by the flooding and I hope the waters will recede quickly.
I am behind because of a problem that has something to do with my PC/Camera/ Card reader/ Sd card... We still have no idea. I uploaded/downloaded whichever - my camera card via my usual method but instead of just uploading the photos on the SD card from my Sony camera it picked up over a thousand photos from my main hard drive and copied those plus the taken photos to my PC and it wasn't apparent where. It took ages to find they had attached to a 2005 folder. Totally bewildering. Of course Jonathan said I must have done something different which did not go down well with me .I had done nothing different and have left date downloaded with no folder name as a default setting in Bridge for almost two years now. I formatted the card took a couple of photos put it in the reader - still said uploading 1229 photos. Tried a new spare card- same thing. Spare reader same thing - I have spares for almost everything btw lol...After two days of this last night we got as far as the camera appearing to show 1/6 photos when I had only taken one photo.. On uploading the other five files appeared just as file extensions and don't appear to stop the camera taking photos ok. Unfortunately both Jonathan and I feel sort of 'brain tired ' it was a very draining experience. Maybe my son could have sorted it in a trice but as he is still working I hesitated to ask and something tells me it was camera orientated..
I realise this is nowhere near as big a problem as some are experiencing but a conundrum I have never encountered before..
