About Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The May 25, 1977 theatrical debut of Star Wars --- on a scant 32 screens across America -- was destined to change the face of cinema forever. An instant classic and an unparalleled box office success, the rousing "space opera" was equal parts fairy tale, western, 1930s serial and special effects extravaganza, with roots in mythologies from cultures around the world.

From the mind of visionary writer/director George Lucas, the epic space fantasy introduced the mystical Force into the cultural vocabulary and it continues to grow, its lush universe ever-expanding through film, television, publishing, video games and more.

In the ever expanding city of Mumbai the thought of millions using plastic spoons for 5 minutes and trashing it for over 500 years didn’t fit the logic for brother-sister duo, Yash and Sachi Maniar. So, they founded Shunya Alternatives- sustainable options which leave shunya (pronounced shoe-nya), zero or nothing behind. With a long term view to reducing landfills they provide biodegradable tableware including plates, bowls and take-away cartons made from bagasse (a sugarcane by-product) and areca nut leaf and drinking straws made from bamboo. The Do School, Germany is providing mentoring and support to them as social entrepreneurs.

The History of the Farm:

“From small beginnings come great things.” ~ Proverb Quote

It started small when Alf Krause planted 1 acre of strawberries back in 1974. Today, Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery has expanded to over 200 acres, growing and producing some of the Fraser Valley’s best berries and vegetables. Owned and operated by Alf & Sandee Krause, their commitment to ethical and sustainable farming has resulted in loyal guests spreading the word and returning year after year.

The abundance of delicious fresh berries & vegetables, combined with Sandee’s creativity and passion for baking, led to the development of their ever expanding line of farm-made products available in their Market, Bakery, Fudgery, Creamery, and Porch.

Today the on farm Harvest Kitchen produces over 100 products grown from the above. The newest being our Krause Berry Farms Wines!

Farm Market:

A visit to our Market will delight all your senses! Savor the aroma of hot out of the oven breads & buns, berry pies & shortcakes, corn pizza and other mouth-watering treats made from scratch daily in our farm Kitchen & Bakery. Try the farm made jams, jellies, syrups, and gourmet preserves made with berries & vegetables grown right on the farm.

Be sure to stop at the Fudge Counter to sample freshly made berry flavours that simply melt in your mouth! Enjoy an old-fashioned berry milkshake while you browse the farm Market for many carefully selected gourmet items, country-themed gifts & décor, as well as beautifully wrapped theme baskets that make gift giving easy.

From mid June right through to Thanksgiving our Market is filled with a bounty of berries and select vegetables fresh from the fields. You will also find a colourful array of other locally grown fruits & vegetables that are always fresh & tasty!

Don't tell me women

are not the stuff of heroes,

I alone rode over the East Sea's

winds for ten thousand leagues.

My poetic thoughts ever expand,

like a sail between ocean and heaven.

I dreamed of your three islands,

all gems, all dazzling with moonlight.

I grieve to think of the bronze camels,

guardians of China, lost in thorns.

Ashamed, I have done nothing;

not one victory to my name.

I simply make my war horse sweat.

Grieving over my native land

hurts my heart. So tell me;

how can I spend these days here?

A guest enjoying your spring winds?

Wednesday 02 July 2014 - Day 03 - Huaraz (3,052m)

Acclimatisation day 1..... but first the a long awaited return to the Hotel Colomba's breakfast room... YUM.

Minibus via Melky's to collect a guide for Jono and Clare, over the Río Santa and then up, up, up into the foothills of the Cordillera Negra, passing the municipal rubbish dump at the aptly named Pongo Alto en route.

From our starting point near Shecta we had fantastic views over towards the Cordillera Blanca, but the clouds were covering them fast. A lovely walk, downhill all the way, through fields and farmland, until we reached the ever expanding urban sprawl of Huaraz.

Early lunch at the Cafe Andino, then off to shop with Val and Mike for supplies to take to the LED health post in Quishuar. Purchases included a chest of drawers and kitchenware for the volunteer medics' bedroom. Afternoon tea in the gardens of the Colomba, then back out again to purchase school supplies.

Our pre dinner trip briefing took place on the veranda, by which time Christine, the final member of the initial trek team, had arrived. At 6.30pm it was out for dinner at my favourite, El Rinconcito Minero or as I prefer to call it, El Minero Rincón. I don't know why. Between ordering and eating (Chaufa vegetariano again), Val took Mike and me to get money - this year, thankfully, the BCP bank provided 500 soles cash no problem (300/S for tips, 200/S spends; ~GBP110).

Another early night - I was in bed about 9pm for another good night's sleep.

Read more about my Cordillera Blanca trek with Val Pitkethly.

“MAY 1, 2015

God's Living Bible - The Third Testament – God's New Revelations –

God's Dreams and Visions Chosen For Placement In God's Living Bible - The Third Testament

ANOTHER UNIVERSE – VEILS LIFTED

(God Speaking To Anne Terri Through The Holy Spirit)

Two days ago, I Asked Anne -while she was in Meditation- to Create another universe as she thought it may look. She tried in her best knowledge to do so, and found each of her own concepts were difficult for she wanted to place within the Infinite universe -which she has seen from her meager view on earth - a magnificent globe shaped, but translucent, alternate universe which would house infinite / massive dimensions meant only for those who had Achieved Oneness with Me.

In this she saw a way for Spirits to experience each of My Created worlds, but without fear of pain, hunger, or death. These would be layered in also, an ever expanding globe structure, like horizontal slices, and the freed spirits would be Allowed access to each Dimension, As Gifts from Me.

One layered Dimensions would be as the sea, where a Spirit may be in the world of the fish as one of them or even as a whale or dolphin. The spirit would take on this life for a duration of time, but not be a predator or prey.

Another Dimension would be for flying anywhere in the known Infinite universe to see all which had yet been unseen, enabling the spirit to fly at speeds of light to visit other galaxies and so on.

Each Dimension would be a different experience. A Heavenly amusement park. She wanted each of these to encompass their own place as if it were a world in itself, and the other Dimensions would not be viewable from the One being experienced.

Anne realized that from her childlike concepts, she could not come close to anymore than I had already Created, except for a closer view!

There are many scientists at this time who believe there may be a Parallel Universe, and essentially they are not wrong. In the future there will be many more theories, and they will find it nearly impossible to prove from their viewpoints within earth's Dimensions, even if I were to Show this to them in a Dream or Vision.

What I Am about to Show you, is Another Universe - but one which is veiled to those who are still in the process of Achieving Oneness with Me, or as many say, the Keys to Heaven's Dimensions.

This Vision, I Presented to Anne last night, and now she will attempt to paint what she saw.

The last words she said to Me, were 'The paper is too small'.

AMEN”

Raw shots of one of my home areas, Briar Cliff. It's my ever-expanding little roleplay area or neighborhood for some of my personal characters who are all connected in some way and know each other. I like how it's turning out and each home or room suits the different personality of the character who inhabits it. Kind of a new experiment for me, as I usually do standalone skyboxes, so I'm having alot of fun! (Note: Yeah, the unicorns don't fit - they're imaginary friends from one character's childhood, lol, so only she can 'see' them)

Yayoi Kusama is arguably Japan’s most famous living artist. Born in 1929, she is one of the few practising artists whose work spans the most important “isms” of the 20th century. At the same time, her work is undeniably contemporary. For decades, her dazzling mirror and polka-dot infused installations, or Infinity rooms have enthralled audiences.

First developed in 1965, the mirrored interiors multiply and reflect, expanding outwards ad infinitum. This vertiginous, almost hallucinatory experience has evolved to become trademark Kusama and feels incomplete without the now mandatory selfie in this ever expanding universe of dots, lights and mirrors.

In the ever-expanding tapestry of the universe, the recent revelations in quantum mechanics and quantum science have ignited a fervor of imagination and inquiry. As we peer through the veil of reality, a gateway to Proxima Centauri b—a planet that mirrors Earth in so many ways—beckons us to explore its potential. This newfound knowledge has propelled humanity into a realm of possibilities, where the dream of a second home emerges not merely as fantasy but as a plausible future. With Earth facing unprecedented challenges, from climate crises to overpopulation, the concept of 'Planet B' transcends mere escape; it becomes a beacon of hope. As our thoughts race with the implications of life on Proxima, we envision a world where humanity can thrive once more, nurturing the essence of existence in a new celestial cradle.

Poem

In whispers of stars, the secrets unfold,

A dance of the atoms, a tale yet untold,

Through quantum realms where the shadows entwine,

We glimpse at a future where destinies align.

Proxima calls with its enigmatic light,

A sanctuary awaits in the velvet of night.

With dreams woven rich in the fabric of space,

We seek out a home, a new kind of grace.

Haikus

Stars twinkle above,

Proxima's shores beckon us,

Hope's new dawn arises.

Quantum dreams take flight,

Life blooms on a distant world,

A chance to restart.

In the void we reach,

Hearts yearning for a new dawn,

Planet B awaits.

Finally, a photo of myself has made it to Flickr. No, I wasn't so vain that I set up the lighting and used a second camera to get my photo, it was taken as part of a Greystones Camera Club studio lighting/portrait night.

The photo was taken by Dan King, the first GCC Chairman no less, and is one guy you can trust for a portrait! Some lovely pictures on his photostream, it can be checked out at the following link if interested, www.flickr.com/photos/dk400d/

If you want to see more of the events the club has been up to, we have an ever expanding pool on Flickr, it can be found here www.flickr.com/groups/greystonescameraclub/

Plunge, by Michael Pinsky

“As a child, I grew up near a reservoir in Scotland. On particularly hot summers, when water was in short supply the level of the reservoir would drop revealing the spire of a church, the highest point of a village which was submerged for a secure clean water supply. This image of a submerged bell tower has stayed with me ever since. If we do not prevent the predicted effects of climate change from occurring this will become the prevailing image of London, towers and monuments encircled by an ever-expanding Thames.”

Michael Pinsky, 2010

Plunge is a simple, elegant statement placed on three monuments in central London. A string of low energy blue LED lights wrapped around each monument marks a time, 1000 years in the future, when sea level rises have changed the city beyond recognition.

The monuments are ones that are passed every day by hundreds of thousands of people, whether tourists who stop to photograph them, or commuters who walk by every day without seeing them. Plunge offers an opportunity to see them in a new light, to think about their place in our history and their place in the city.

Together, the Plunge monuments create an arc across central London, following the line of a future Thames that has swallowed much of the capital in its wake.

Plunge has been created by Michael Pinsky and produced by Artsadmin and LIFT as part of the Imagine 2020 network programme. Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, the European Culture Programme, Trust Greenbelt, WWF-UK and the Big Give. In partnership with Royal Parks, Seven Dials Trust and Paternoster Square Management Limited.

Rocky Road Crunch Bars (recipe from Nigella Express). I add raisins to mine so I can fool myself into thinking they're sort of healthy! These are so quick to make and great for a quick sugar fix. But not so great for my ever expanding cake gut...

CCTV tower.

With almost 20 years’ experience as a window cleaner, Zhang Shimin has witnessed the astounding urban growth of the Chinese capital. “There was nothing outside the Third Ring Road, when I first came to Beijing,” he explained, perched on the roof of a 31-story building overlooking the ring road.

Since Zhang’s arrival in 1993 as a migrant laborer from a rural area of Sichuan Province, many of the traditional bungalows that housed most of the Beijing residents have given way to tall apartment blocks catering to the city’s growing middle class.

With the boom has come heavy demands for exterior cleaning as residents can no longer reach the exterior of their windows. A few daring migrant workers like Zhang chose to take the risk and dangle down on ropes in pursuit of higher wages.

The most demanding periods of the year are from the middle of March to the end of May; then from the end of September until the bitter cold stops them from working.

The contrast between the humble dwellings of the migrant worker cleaners as compared to the homes they look into everyday could not be greater, but Zhang says he seldom looks into the windows while working. “I won’t compare myself with them while working, we are totally different groups.”

City expanding

In spite of the ever-expanding buildings, business is not all that it should be. Zhang explained that China’s strict anti-corruption campaign has affected their window cleaning business this year. “People who were taking rebates in the cleaning projects are holding back now, so there is really not as much as normal,” Zhang said.

As the thriving business center of Beijing, Chaoyang district, where Zhang’s high rise career started, was enjoying the soaring property opportunities in the first ten years of the 21th century. Construction work has now expanded around the major axis of the city. From the Third Ring Road, to the Fourth and now the Fifth and Sixth are seeing rising apartment buildings and with them, new opportunities for Zhang and his team emerge.

with the war and Bush and bad pipes in Alaska we embrace the ever expanding price of gasoline...now more expensive than a gallon of 1% Milk.

The Edinburgh Festival with an ever expanding Fringe seems to contain a little of everything. If your senses are dulled so as to avoid excitement I hope that you still feel the rise of a pleasure at the reception of myth made flesh amongst the throng of life on the High Street. With just a touch of theatre and a presence of performance dreams can flicker into reality, through a break in the crowd they can begin to take form. Sometimes we are fortunate enough to have a small imp filled painting box with which to record the light fall and the shadow up play. The radiant flesh of the merry Merewif certainly caught the evening rays and her aura refracted memories crafted in the light of many past days. There was possibly even a look of the future deep within her eyes, but there was also something far more fearsome left unburied in her gaze.

Shinnecock Indian Nation: An Ancient History and Culture.

Since the beginning, Shinnecock time has been measured in moons and seasons, and the daily lives of our people revolved around the land and the waters surrounding it. Our earliest history was oral, passed down by word of mouth from generation to generation, and as far back as our collective memory can reach, we are an Algonquin people who have forever lived along the shores of Eastern Long Island.

Scientists say we came here on caribou hunts when the land was covered with ice. But our creation story says we were born here; that we are the human children of the goddess who descended from the sky. It was she, the story goes, who caused the land to form beneath her feet from the back of Great Turtle, deer to spring forth from her fingertips; bear to roar into awakening, wolf to prowl on the first hunt. It was she who filled the sky with birds, made the land to blossom and the ponds and bays to fill with fish and mollusks. And when all was done, the Shinnecock, the People of the Shore, appeared in this lush terrain. We are still here.

As coastal dwellers, we continue to prize the bounty of the sea, the shellfish, the scaly fish, which for thousands of years provided the bulk of our diet. We were whalers, challenging the mighty Atlantic from our dugout canoes long before the arrival of the big ships, long before the whaling industry flourished in the 19th century.

In the 1700's, we became noted among the northeastern coastal tribes for our fine beads made from the Northern quahog clam and whelk shells. The Dutch, who arrived on our shores before the English, turned our beads (wampum) into the money system for the colonies.

The Shinnecock Nation is among the oldest self-governing tribes of Indians in the United States and has been a state-recognized tribe for over 200 years. In 1978, we applied for Federal Recognition, and in 2003, we were placed on the Bureau of Indian Affairs' "Ready for Active" list.

Traditionally, decisions concerning the welfare of the tribe were made by consensus of adult male members. Seeking to shortcut the consensus process in order to more easily facilitate the acquisition of Indian lands, the Town of Southampton devised a three member trustee system for the Shinnecock people. This system of tribal government was approved by the New York State legislature in February of 1792. Since April 3, 1792, Shinnecock Indians have gone to the Southampton Town Hall the first Tuesday after the first Monday in April to elect three tribal members to serve a one- year term as Trustees. In April of 2007, the Shinnecock Indian Nation exercised its sovereign right as an ancient Indian Nation and returned to one of its basic Traditions: it bypassed the Southampton Town Hall and for the first time since 1792 held its leadership elections at home, where they will remain.

The Trustee system, however, did not then and does not now circumvent the consensus process, which still remains the governing process of the Shinnecock Indian Nation. Major decisions concerning the tribe are voted yea or nay by all eligible adult members, including women, who gained the right to vote in the mid-1990s. Also in that period, the Shinnecock Nation installed a Tribal Council, a 13 member body elected for two years terms. The Council is an advisory body to the Board of Trustees.

Today, we number over 1300 people, more than 600 of whom reside on the reservation adjacent to the Town of Southampton on the East End of Long Island. While our ancestral lands have dwindled over the centuries from a territory stretching at least from what is known today as the Town of Easthampton and westward to the eastern border of the Town of Brookhaven, we still hold on to approximately 1200 acres.

With modest resources, we have managed to build a community to help us better meet the demands of an ever expanding and intrusive world. In addition to the Shinnecock Presbyterian church building and its Manse, our infrastructure includes a tribal community center, a shellfish hatchery, a health and dental center, a family preservation and Indian education center, a museum, and playgrounds for our children. Also on our list of recent achievements is the design and development of an official Shinnecock Indian Nation flag and an official seal.

Our skilled craftspeople and fine artists find employment within the Tribe as well as the surrounding area. The number of tribal members holding advanced degrees in law, business, medicine, social sciences and liberal arts continues to grow, and tribal members hold positions of responsibility in all areas, including teaching, banking and counseling, both within and outside the Shinnecock community.

One of the earliest forms of economic development that the Shinnecock Nation undertook was to lease Reservation acreage to local area farmers for their crops, mainly potatoes and corn. While the project did bring in a small income for the Tribe, the resulting damages from pesticides leaking into the ground water and polluting our drinking water supply were enormous. We had great expectations for our shellfish hatchery (Oyster Project) but brown tide and general pollution forced it to close before it had the chance to develop into the business enterprise it was planned to be. In the summer of 2005, the Tribe began reseeding parts of its waterways with oysters, and celebrated a renewal harvest of Shinnecock chunkoo oysters at the Tribal Thanksgiving Dinner, November 2006.

At the present moment, the Shinnecock annual Powwow is the economic development project of record for the Shinnecock Nation. Revived in 1946 as a benefit for our church, the Powwow has evolved into an event that hosts thousands of visitors. But we are at the mercy of the weather. For the past two years, rainstorms have forced us to drastically revise our budgeting plans. We are now exploring Indian Gaming as a means of attaining the much needed self-sufficiency that will enable us to perform the sacred duties laid out for us by the Ancestors — to protect, manage and maintain the Shinnecock Indian Nation.

A Chicago Bookkeeping Service comes with several great perks. Perhaps this is the reason behind their ever growing and ever expanding businesses. Today, even some big companies have started retreating from self-managed bookkeeping. The concept of outsourcing is prevailing quite well.
