It Worked:
- The folding grays and their gradient within the form.
- The strong movement reinforced by the grays across the board.
- The seperation of the two original white forms.
It Doen't Work:
- The minimal types or difference of brush strokes.
- Not much contrast exists in the piece.
- There is something to be desired as far as structure goes.

Statues, sculpture modern and ancient are around every corner, each one worthy of more than a passing look. so much so that a lot of your time is spent saying absolutely nothing. the reason being that you quickly find you are repeating your descriptive adjective and adverbs which on repeating quickly loose there emphasis. So just look and enjoy.
Not the Jim Carey movie... but the Cartoon. If you dont remember, then forget it.
================
A total of 75 syndicated episodes of M.A.S.K. were broadcast from 1985 to 1986. One of many cartoons produced during the 1980s as a vehicle for toy merchandising, M.A.S.K. (which is an acronym for the Mobile Armored Strike Kommand), was a hybrid of popular era cartoons G.I. Joe and The Transformers. It featured a special task force featuring an array of characters, led by Matt Trakker, with transforming vehicles engaged in an ongoing battle against the criminal organization V.E.N.O.M. (an acronym for the Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem), with an emphasis on super-powered helmets called masks worn by the characters on the show.
The original series focused mainly on the vehicles and characters from the original 1985 toy line. More characters were introduced as the line expanded with a second wave in 1986. The format for the last season of the show featured a racing theme to correspond with the theme of the third wave M.A.S.K. toys. A major difference from the first season is by the second, V.E.N.O.M. agents knew the personal identities of the M.A.S.K. team, whereas V.E.N.O.M. did not know their identities during the first season. The second season lasted for only ten episodes. There is a storyline difference in the mini comic books which came with each toy. In the comics, Miles Mayhem knew the identity of Matt Trakker and had originally helped start the M.A.S.K. team but betrayed him later. This was very similar to the second series of the cartoon.
Due to the short-lived nature and new format of the racing series, many characters from the first season were given reduced roles to establish the new cast members and their vehicles, or to reintroduce older characters with new masks and vehicles. Buddy Hawks began using the name "Clutch" and gained a more prominent role with a double-act partnership with agent Boris "The Tzar" Bushkin. Matt Trakker and Miles Mayhem's rivalry remained strong, but the two usually only appeared in their own focus episodes. Other V.E.N.O.M. operations against M.A.S.K. agents were now exclusively handled by Vanessa Warfield.
The toyline's fourth and final wave went to one other variation, "Split Seconds", in which the vehicles sold under the line would split from one whole into two different vehicles for a M.A.S.K. pilot and a "clone" holographic partner (a transparent version of the same figure carried with the vehicle), but the cartoon was not renewed for the fourth wave. Besides the cartoon and toys, there were also various merchandising products like sticker books and comics to capitalize on the success of the show.
In the DC Comics series, the M.A.S.K. team is sponsored by an organization called the Peaceful Nations Alliance (PNA). Their exact relationship is never explained. The liaison between the P.N.A. and M.A.S.K. is Duane Kennedy. Duane and the P.N.A. did appear in the cartoon, although in a much more limited role in such episodes as "The Roteks" and "Assault On Liberty".
It is never made clear what sort of criminal organization V.E.N.O.M. is, exactly. They were not the typical world-conquering villains and their schemes mostly revolve around profiting from illegal activities and doing mercenary services. The comics tried to give them a more believable background. They appear to be the foot soldiers of an even higher evil organization called Contraworld. Like M.A.S.K. and P.N.A., their relationship is not explained, nor are Contraworld's larger goals.
When originally broadcast, M.A.S.K. was the first closed-captioned series to air in first-run syndication.[2]
In 2008, twenty-two years after M.A.S.K.'s cancellation, a Matt Trakker figure was released as part of the G.I. Joe toyline, with the codename "Specialist Trakker".[3] His filecard states that V.E.N.O.M. was created by Cobra instead of the comic series' Contraworld. The release of "Specialist Trakker" has caused speculation of a M.A.S.K. revival.[4]
In 2010/2011 Hasbro also released a subline of Transformers called Stealth force featuring vehicles that have the ability to pop out weapons as a homage to the MASK concept.

I tried to follow the example, but typeset it differently, put more emphasis on the page being used by people new to the standard, who want to adhere to it. I am pretty sure I messed up the Object definition and hope Jyri will chime in to help.
On the right are metrics, which I am sure I will get yelled at for, but I have a feeling that companies and "white hat" marketing firms will be *very* interested in verb usage data. There is no reason that DiSo as a non-profit, or activitystrea.ms as a commercial enterprise, cannot make a little money in return for all their hard work.
Snapshot uses implementor cloud ( instead of "popular implementations" ) to give thanks to the containers that have shown support for the DiSo standard. Cloud's text is weighted by sheer volume and encourages competition.
What do you think? Your comments are strongly encouraged!
Important note - This is a pure mock-up, for the purposes of discussion. I have no rights to any of the concepts or intellectual properties displayed here, DiSo does.

The sweetest thing I ever heard
Is that I don't have to have all the answers,
just a little light to call my own.
Old Romney was probably an island in the Romney Marshes in Roman times. The earliest written reference to Old Romney is from Saxon documents of 791 AD when land was granted to Christ Church, Canterbury. Documents from 1070 onwards list two churches at 'Rumenea' and these may be the Old and New Romney churches today.
The dedication of Old Romney Church to St.Clement may relate to the time when Canute was the Danish king of England. St.Clement would be an important saint in a port town, having been martyred by being thrown into the sea with an anchor tied around his neck.
Both towns were affected by silting and the emphasis shifted from Old Romney [now a small village] to New Romney as the harbour contracted and moved gradually seawards. A manuscript found in France in 1972 and dated to around 1140AD is the first to use the term Old Romney and this was confirmed in a charter of 1220AD.
The present building is dated from the late 11th century or early 12th century by the church guide book but 'mid 12th century' by the Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust [see also my New Romney photos which refer to other dating differences between these sources]. St Clement's would have first been a nave and chancel but this was added to with a south aisle and the tower in the 13th century and a north aisle a few decades later. Two chapels were added in the late 13th century. The porch is 14th century and is on the north side of the building, which is unusual.
www.flickr.com/photos/barryslemmings/sets/72157594378775641/ to view the full set/.
The north chapel is dedicated to Our Lady and the Fraternity of Our Lady, a medieval guild, held services here. The south chapel is dedicated to St.Catherine and was likewise used by another guild, the Brotherhood of St. Catherine.
The font is of Purbeck marble, dated to about 1300AD, and stands on four legs. The triple decker pulpit was reduced to a more modest size in a later restoration but special mention must be made of the pink painted box pews. Painted [rather than stained and grained] box pews also occur at Fairfield on Romney Marsh and I was told by a parishioner that they were more practical to repaint if scuffed by farmers' boots.
The box pews at Old Romney were originally battleship grey but the church was chosen as a filmset by movie-makers for a Dr Syn film. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Syn for more about Dr Syn. Try as I might I cannot sort out which film as the two major movies were made by Walt Disney and Hammer yet the church guide says that funding came from the Rank Film organisation. In addition to repainting the box pews the film company also repaired the steps to the gallery and left a further donation.
A parishioner told me the congregation kept the pink as it makes the interior of the church brighter. Well I'm not arguing with that!
PLAYTIME! got my hands on a vitomatic IIa with a mint ultron f/2 lens. These were apparently legendary in their day. f/2 is a big achievement for the 50/s. These shots were all taken at f/2 with 200 iso expired film and handed into the local lab.

Plaster Casts of Vimy War Memorial Sculptures, Canadian War Museum, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
The Canadian War Museum is Canada's national museum of military history. Located in Ottawa, Ontario, the museum covers all facets of Canada's military past, from the first recorded instances of death by armed violence in Canadian history several hundred years ago to the country's most recent involvement in conflicts. It includes major permanent exhibitions on wars that have been fought on Canadian soil, the total wars of the twentieth century, the Cold War and peace support operations abroad, and Canada's history of honouring and remembrance. There is also an open storage area displaying large objects from the Museum's collection, from naval guns to tanks, from motorcycles to jet aircraft. The exhibits depict Canada's military past in its personal, national and international dimensions, with emphasis on the human experience of war and the manner in which war has affected, and been affected by, Canadians' participation.
For my macro photography I decided to focus upon textural emphasis. I placed multiple unlit matches into a small square of foam and placed a single burnt match among the rest of said matches. I placed a light blue pillow behind the foam block, used the natural sunlight to light the image, got up close, and shot the image. Within Photoshop, I brought down the saturation of the blue within the pillow and turned up the clarity to enhance the texture of the burnt match to the other various smooth textured matches besides it. If I could go back and redo my image, I would like to get all the matches in focus rather than having the ones in the background faded out. I would also like to show more of the smooth grain upon the unlit matches to enhance the textural emphasis on the burnt match.
Skull Mountain, designed and manufactured by Intamin, opened int he Lakeside section at Six Flags Great Adventure on June 3, 1996. With an elaborate queue Line and dramatic back story, the new indoor in-the-dark family coaster was a product of the themed emphasis placed on new attractions by new corporate owners Warner Brothers. The 1 minute, 40 second ride blazes across 1377 feet of track at a maximum speed of 33mph and reaching a height of 45 feet.
Six Flags Great Adventure, located in Jackson, New Jersey, first opened as Great Adventure on July 1, 1974 under the direction of Warner LeRoy. Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, more commonly known as Six Flags or as Six Flags Theme Parks, founded in 161 by Angus G. Wynne, acquired the park in 1977. The 160-acre amusement park is part of the 510 acre Great Adventure and Safari Park complex, which is the second largest theme park in the world behind Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Pope: Augustine Is Model of Humility and Says His Conversion Lasted Until He Died
VATICAN CITY, FEB. 26, 2008 (Zenit.org).- In his final reflection on St. Augustine, Benedict XVI spoke of the saint's interior conversion, calling it "one of the greatest" in Christian history.
The Pope affirmed this today during the general audience given in Paul VI Hall. He recalled how his trip last year to pay homage to the mortal remains of Augustine was meant to "demonstrate the admiration and reverence of the entire Catholic Church toward St. Augustine, and my own personal devotion and recognition of a figure with whom I feel I have close ties to due to the part he has played in my theological life, in my life as a priest and a pastor."
Recalling Augustine's own retelling of his conversion in the "Confessions," the Holy Father said that the process is best "described as a journey that remains a true example for each one of us." It was a journey that "continued with humility until the end of his life."
"We can state that all the stages of his life -- and we can easily distinguish three phases -- together make up a single long conversion," the Pontiff explained.
Truth seeking
Benedict XVI characterized the first phase as a "gradual approach to Christianity," since Augustine was a "passionate seeker of the truth."
He explained: "Philosophy, and especially Platonic philosophy, led him closer to Christ by revealing to him the existence of the Logos, or creative reason. The books of the philosophers showed him the existence of 'reason' from which the whole world is derived, but did not tell him how to reach this Logos, which seemed so inaccessible.
"It was only through reading the letters of St. Paul, in the faith of the Catholic Church, that he came to a fuller understanding. […] His eyes fell on the passage of the Letter to the Romans, in which the apostle urges the abandonment of the pleasures of the flesh in favor of Christ. He understood that those words were specifically meant for him. They came from God, through the Apostle, and showed him what he had to do in that moment."
Augustine thus began to seek God, the Pope explained, "the great and inaccessible."
"His faith in Christ made him understand that God, seemingly so distant, was in truth not distant at all. In fact he has come near us, becoming one of us," the Holy Father said. "In this sense his faith in Christ allowed Augustine to accomplish his long search for truth. Only a God who made himself 'touchable,' one of us, was a God to whom one could pray, for whom and with whom one could live."
Mercy
Benedict XVI said a last step, or "third conversion" in the journey, "led [Augustine] to ask God for forgiveness every day of his life."
The Pope explained: "At first he thought that once christened, in a life in communion with Christ, in the sacraments, and in the celebration of the Eucharist, he would attain a life as proposed in the Sermon on the Mount, which is one of perfection given through baptism and confirmed in the Eucharist.
"In the latter period of his life he understood that what he had said in his first homilies on the Sermon on the Mount -- that we as Christians permanently live this ideal life -- was a mistake. Only Christ himself realizes truly and completely the Sermon on the Mount. We always need to be cleansed by Christ, who washes our feet, and be renewed by him.
"We need a permanent conversion. Up to the end we need to demonstrate a humility that acknowledges that we are sinners on a journey, until the Lord gives us his hand and leads us to eternal life. It is with this attitude of humility that Augustine lived out his final days until his death."
A model
The Holy Father said that Augustine, once "converted to Christ, who is truth and love," became a model for every human being, "for all of us in search of God."
"Today, as then," the Pontiff said, "mankind needs to know and to live this fundamental reality: God is love and meeting him is the only answer to the fears of the human heart.
"In a beautiful text St. Augustine defines prayer as an expression of desire, and affirms that God answers by moving our hearts closer to him. For our part we should purify our desires and our hopes in order to receive God's gentleness."
"In fact," the Holy Father concluded, "this alone -- opening ourselves up to others -- can save us."

EXPLORE # 384 on Saturday, March 15, 2008; & # 438 on 03-16-2008
Several months ago, we decided that the house needed a bit of freshening up. The cladding is at least fifty years old, and had never been refinished. It was getting pretty dingy. In addition, it was a white colour, and did not set off the original wood trim. We chose a beige off-white that both wouldn't show the dirt, and would make the trim "pop" a bit. The trim also received a fresh white and green boost.
Then we looked at the interior. The uostairs and downstairs halls hadn't been redone in twenty years. Although the kitchen, family room, den and living room were done about four years ago, there was some cracking in the walls and ceilings that came about when we installed air conditioning, thereby changing the temperature equilibrium of the house.
At present, the painters are stripping the upstairs and downstairs halls, and are removing layers of paper that go back to the beginnings of the house in 1859.
The painters suggested that I document the stripping to add to the record of the house. Here's the result.
All-in-all it's been a busy year, what with a pregnancy, Hepatitis C, etc., but...what the hell! Right?
The next step is to skim-coat the driveway. I was going to have it replaced, since i'ts rather old, but again...what the hell! Right?
Next year, I might tackle the gardens. I place emphasis on the word "might".
