23.1.1977, Im Badewasser, ca. 21x30 cm, Farbstifte, Malerei mit Nitoverdünnung auf Papier.

23.1.1977, In the Bath water, ca. 8x12 inch, colored pencils, painting with nitro thinner on pape, revised advertising image, Decollage.

Schon damals war die Welt gar nicht in Ordnung - ganz im Gegensatz zu den Fotos in den Illustrierten und der Werbung.

Even then, the world was not in order - in contrast to the photos in the magazines and advertising.

That's what I want to show you now as I am sorting and documenting my artistic work.

There are paintings around 1977 - a bit more courageous and emotional than I was then. I'm really amazed today about these results.

Planned were larger paintings that were yet to come.

Can AI "photos" coexist with the "traditional" imagery? Who are we kidding. Can't imagine a Hollywood movie without AI. too many to mention

Do you feel "betrayed" when (if) you found out a photo was an Artificial "photo"... are we getting used to being "lied" too?

Things are likely to become yet more complex as use of artificial intelligence by artists becomes more widespread, and as the machines get better at producing creative works, further blurring the distinction between artwork that is made by a human and that made by a computer.

Not sure whether this lesser goldfinch was hot (starting to see some "panting" in the birds) or just mad...

Erin Dickson, born in South Shields, England, and Jeffrey Sarmiento, born in Chicago, are two artists based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Both are known for their use of glass and share a fascination with cultural and emotional connections to architecture and explore their experience of space from individual perspectives.

Dickson graduated from the Architectural Association in London, and completed her PhD combining architectural phenomenology, technology and glass at the University of Sunderland, in 2015. Sarmiento received his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, in 2000, and PhD from The University of Sunderland, in 2011. Dickson was studio assistant to Sarmiento at the University of Sunderland (2010-2014). In his works, Sarmiento integrates glass with graphics, including words, images, artifacts and urban landscapes, to uncover hidden narratives. Dickson combines phenomenology with architecture and digital technology to create sculpture, installation, and performance that considers the emotional and sensorial qualities of spaces. In Emotional Leak (2011) they produced the physical manifestation of a slowly leaking roof. Inspired by water and realized in glass, the resulting form is a black monolithic sculpture, resembling a digital gothic architectural model. Dickson and Sarmiento have individually and collectively exhibited worldwide including, Saatchi Gallery (2013), London; Fondazione Berengo (2015), Venice; and Bullseye Gallery (2016), Portland. Sarmiento won a Fulbright scholarship to Denmark (2003-2004); a Research Councils UK Academic Fellowship at the University of Sunderland (2006-2011); and was honored with a mid-career retrospective at the National Glass Centre (2013), Sunderland. Dickson was awarded an inaugural Technology Advancing Glass grant from the Glass Art Society (2014).

The same and however different every year, spring is making us all more close to the simple things.

Birds of all sizes and shapes tend to always surprise me in different ways. I could watch them for hours (which I sometimes do). These two egrets were working on building their nest all morning, but took time out to make an emotional connection which made me smile !

I've been having a lot of fun making shapes lately. So I came up with the idea to make a poster for the store. I'm not sure if this is a real shop or not.

Not in that order. But I'm having fun.

This shape is a male avatar made by LeLtuka Andrea and Belleza Jake. I tried to make it as similar to my female avatar as possible.

EXPLORE #462 of 6 January 2010

As is often the case, light caught my attention when I saw this and the old-timey feeling I got from the hemp and cardboard yielded a definite feel.

That said, I recently sat through a presentation by professional landscape photographer and author Guy Tal (guytal.com/) and that definitely nudged me in the direction of having more intention and emotion going into an images (this image having been captured prior to that). Often times I'll see an image that I find interesting in some way, and the emotion / feeling will follow from that. Guy seems to approach it the exact opposite way, the image that he creates is the end-result of the feeling / emotion that the scene he's in created for him.

I don't think it has to be an overly emotional experience, but I could definitely improve by having a little more intention, and giving a little more thought to why I capture the images that I do.

When you're sick and you think your friends have abandoned you, and tv becomes your only friend...what do you do? Take photographs...

“Vulnerability is not weakness, and the uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure we face every day are not optional. Our only choice is a question of engagement. Our willingness to own and engage with our vulnerability determines the depth of our courage and the clarity of our purpose; the level to which we protect ourselves from being vulnerable is a measure of our fear and disconnection.” ― Brené Brown

Looking out over the windswept Oregon coastline, ominous clouds gather overhead as a curtain of rain softens the horizon. A lone rock offers tenuous shelter to the seabirds and seals that live along this stretch of the Pacific ocean. Misty light filters down through the darkening, roiling sky, lending a soft glow to the moody seascape.

As the storm moves ashore, I capture a few frames and think about how it is difficult not to feel small in a world of such overwhelming beauty. Read more on the blog.

I captured this very gripping statue image of Jesus Christ just outside the entrance into the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.

I was very moved when I viewed this statue, and when I walked into the memorial area.

The statue depicts how Christ must have felt after the bomb went off and took so many lives, including women and children!

I never get tired of these mountains and in particular of this place.

Here I find always different light conditions. Always different shooting points. Every time I come here I always manage to get excited.

Not for nothing the Dolomites are UNESCO heritage.

I finally took the time to have a look at Colie's Emotional Landscapes. I used the newly released Imprudence viewer which seems to have a bug similar to earlier releases of the official viewer. Light sources in the original image are superimposed 4 times on the picture ... The one pic I made in BMP format turned out all black.

No, not this past week or weekend- we have had quite a dry spell in New Orleans. SURE could use the rain Several things I planted have already given up the ghost . . . :(
