So... this scene started innocently. Cydd had never been to the devPose shop ....and she wanted to check out some of the animations... but, feck if I can remember how we got to the bondage bedroom setup. Cydd was already wearing this... so, erm... I dressed to match.... and ...we started a photo shoot. hehehehe. Was a blast. Luv ya Cyddie! ^.^

The world-famous and iconic Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle, Washington looking southwest.

Making wrong turns often times compels me to keep getting lost. That's when I find all the good stuff. I came back one morning to watch the show. It was a great episode!

Checking out some sights around town. Blue hour was just ending and the lights were in full effect.

Flickr's new compression? Maybe it's just me...

Last Saturday was aa big day for Seattle. A few rail cars opened and are offering free rides for a limited time. Or you could always just take photos of them.

Playing hooky from work is a human right. I like to stroke that right as little as possible but when I do.....

Living on Queen Anne hill affords numerous opportunities to view Elliott Bay from a higher vantage point and occasionally the end of day light strikes all the right notes. I'm glad I brought the camera with me.

As the title suggests, this was taken near the 12th street bridge in Seattle. I was hanging out with some friends of mine, so this photo is special to me because of it reminds me of home, but also because of the good memories I have taking it with my friends. The lighting that evening was very difficult to get right, and most of my pictures did not turn out very well. This was the best of the bunch, and I had a really hard time editing the shadows with it. Not sure how to make it better, though I feel there is plenty of room for improvement on this shot.

Anyway, back to studying I go. Enjoy! :)

We had a little bit of snow around the Seattle area today and after seeing Dene post a fb pic (no she didn't bother to tell me the sky had cleared) I jammed over to the bridge to check it out. Her and Hai were up there already freezing and firing away. There were some fast moving clouds that lit up with some pretty nice color about 15 minutes after sunset. I stuck around until the last light finally died out and bailed home just in time to slide up the hill to the house as it was freezing up.

Hope everyone is out enjoying the snow and having a little fun while staying safe.

Reflecting back on the last couple years. Today is World Photography Day. I keep thinking about the failures I've endured and the process I've learned to get where I am today with my photography. I also think about all the great people I've met and friendships I've made. To me photography is more than just a hobby, it's my passion. Thank you all for your continued support, I appreciate it more than you know!

After going through some old photos it reminded me how long it's been since I got some goods from Kerry Park. This was golden hour just before the color show. You could finally see Mt.Rainier after the last few days being suffocated by wildfire smoke. You can even see some storm cloud formations building behind the volcano.

I had to put my tripod on a trampoline for this shot. I think it actually worked out ok this time. The truckers were creeping awfully close though.....

The Wizard of Oz is a 1939 American musical fantasy film produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). Based on the 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. The 1956 television broadcast premiere of the film on CBS reintroduced it to the public.

On a funny note, Dad let my sister and I stay up to watch the Wizard of Oz when we were little. I STILL think it is one of the scariest movies ever and had nightmares after that about flying monkeys! Mom was SO mad at Dad!

(I almost forgot I had these wonderful little Madame Alexander dolls, which I bought at the auction some time ago!)

Thank you ALL for you all for your fun comments and faves! What a great time of life!

I've wanted to incorporate the Rainier logo into the city skyline for a while now. Well tonight I made it happen.

Had a little extra time to do some rain dodging today. I hit my buddy B rad and we set out for some comps to show the fast moving clouds. It was raining off and on so we scrambled around quite a bit. I opted to hit the alki point and had B rad help me out with this shot. I was using a 10 stop nd filter and asked him to stay still for the entire exposure. I think he did great.

The emerald city was awash in pink at twilight last night!

Another take from Sunday and it's impressive blue hour. I found some puddles and plated around with this. I spy the girl in the red jacket, she's been following me;-)

I'm still wiping some stuff away from 2015. I just wanna get some things up I forgot to share. I hope you enjoy.

I've always had trouble with this location. Those damn light posts.....

I feel like we should have these running around the entire city!

Towards the emarald city...

I captured this image during a Seahawks vs Raiders game. I was sitting in the grass watching the clouds transform into what looked something like a lava lamp! All of a sudden I noticed a flash way in the distance. I began messing with my camera settings hoping to get it to bulb without over exposing everything. Once I was dialed in I kept my eyes locked and my finger on my remote trigger! Time after time I kept guessing when it would happen and after a couple failed attempts I got it! I saw maybe 9 strikes total and captured 4 photos of one. Felt doubled stoked as the Seahawks won this game. Thanks for checking it out.

Follow the yellow plank road ;-)

Another view on the yellow footbridge in the centre of Rotterdam, Netherlands. The project is called Luchtsingel and was finalized in 2014. People could participate in the project by sponsoring one or more of the 17,000 planks and have their name inscribed.

This is my fourth tribute to my favorite Broadway musical "Wicked". In fact, this is a tribute to its film adaptation starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. The film turned out to be a PERFECT adaptation of the first act of the musical, so I highly recommend to watch it. :)

Since I already built everyone's favorite scene (Defying Gravity) a few years ago, I decided to make a poster, because I like it so much. I don't have any "Wicked" sets yet, so my own Glinda and Elphaba made a comeback. I'm so sorry, I forgot to stick tiara to Glinda's head, it was ready on the table, but when I took pictures I just forgot... I also tried to make the Emerald City glow like I did for Zelena's iconic scene, but it wasn't as noticeable against the light background. Anyway, I hope you'll like it! :)

the place where dreams and hopes can be fulfilled.

Last night a bunch of us lined up to shoot the moon. I wanted to try out the 200-500 for moon photography. Although the lens does make the moon appear larger, I wasn't satisfied with the distortion. Maybe I've been spoiled? But don't get me wrong, it is cool to look at all these scenes with this much compression!

Having some friends who work at the port I've always been interested in the massive cranes that operate what seem 24/7 365!! I was shooting a model and the weather was acting kind of funky. A friend and I had planned to meet for sunset previous to my shoot and he called and asked what I thought. Well I hadn't really had a plan for where to shoot sunset but I asked my model and him if they were down for adventure! Getting to the spot put us right above the cranes! Such a cool angle to see the action!

One last look at Oz, for the Saturated Saturday, a bit of a boost.

One of the best buds a grl could have, I couldn't go through SL without my Jiggameister. ^_^ He's always cheering me up, and I hope we're always close.<3 ya buddddah!

Jig: "I'm here for the Gang Bang" -- don't ask. xD

Flickr seems to have compressed this image and it looks soft to me. The photo is a single shot at 13mb.

Persistence plays a big part in this image. I've taken sunset photos from this spot too many times and have never been truly satisfied. This night changed that.

I arrived to the bridge and met with a friend to set up. There was one man already set up on the bridge but that was it. After claiming our spots we fine tuned our gear and kept to ourselves. The sky was looking great and we hoped for the horizon to stay clear. As the sun set though it began to cover itself behind some heavy cloud and slowly disappeared.

My friends and I figured it was a dud and started to BS on the bridge. The man who was there first must of thought so too and packed up his gear to leave. Before leaving he stop to mention how he drove all the way from Kirkland hoping for a good sunset. I feel bad kind of, but why would you leave?

After a few minutes more of our BS convo I looked out and noticed a small beam of light coming out over the tail end of the Olympics most Northern tip. Minute after minute the beam grew and turned into a huge fan of light. Vivid colors and gradient purples started paint the whole scene. I couldn't believe my eyes! Moments ago we figured it was a dud and some guy actually left! lol.

Needless to say the sky just blew up after that! Some of the most unreal colors and cloud displays I've ever seen from that spot. No filters needed. THE gradient colors were nuts, and I don't think the photos do it justice. I'm glad I decided to make this one and share it with some friends.

Having shot a soccer team last night and noticing how intense the light has been from evening to evening lately, I decided to head out with my younger daughter and get a shot that I have been meaning to add to my portfolio for some time now. The shot made this evening is what you see above, but that's not really the message I would like to send this evening...

What I would really like to say is a simple, "Thank you."

My photostream is about to pass 50K and I somehow got here because for whatever reason, each and every person has found it in their mind, heart, soul, whatever, to view my images. Sometimes a comment is left, sometimes not, but either way, one of my images has passed through their eyes and been a part of their day, albeit a very small part.

So thank you for coming, thank you for leaving feedback whenever you have felt it was necessary, and thank you so much to all of you who I have had the pleasure of meeting and develop a friendship with! For those of you who I have meet in real life (you know who you are), I could never have dreamed of anything better than having such a great group of friends who rely on each other for feedback, friendship, advice, and support at times. God sure does work in ways that we may never understand until we see His face.

I have no plan...He has already made it for me and I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride so far....Thank you...

Oh, and for the record, the single most important person in this life who drives me, encourages me, loves me, and adores me, is my wife, Corrieblueeyes. Without her, I would still be shooting on Kodak disk film. :) I love you and adore you my dear Corrie.

Caught a quick burn down by the lake today. No broken bones either.

Here is another image from our first night of snowfall here in Seattle last week before being snowed in and driven into eternal boredom. I truly love snow and especially watching it fall but once the ice hits I am ready to tap out. :) I am sure my first image from this night has spread around the world by now after being picked up by Tumblr and re-shared a gazillion times. I really dislike that website and it, as well as a few others have caused me to place my watermarks in less conspicuous places.

Anyway.... many people have been asking me for widescreen desktop size images of mine that they could use for wallpapers or screensavers. This weekend I finished 5 collections of wallpapers available for purchase from my website for those who are interested. They can be found by

jumping over to www.aaronreedphotography.com/ and browsing the ScreenSavers tab.

As always....Check Out My Profile for information on prints, licensing & our 2012 workshop schedule. Our first 2 of the year are filling up fast.

Sunday fun day on Alki. it was a very serene and peaceful morning. I'm assuming the fact the Seahawks aren't in the playoffs has everyone locked away indoors. There were a lot of clouds hanging overhead but as the morning progressed the started to move north to reveal some very warming colors. I kept my 10 stop ND filter on and let the exposures run while capturing the fleeting clouds.

Quick business trip to Seattle to meet with prospective clients...and how do I spend my lunch hour? Taking more photos. ;)

Hope you all are doing great--I miss you!

I've always contemplated hiking up Rainier. I'd need at least a years worth of conditioning and also the right gear. I know a few guys who have done it and am always filled with curiosity as they tell me their stories. Until then I'll just enjoy the view from Kerry Park;-)

Pulled an all nighter and ended up at Alki for sunrise. I was using a 10 stop ND and doing long exposures. For this shot in used one photo and copied it to create two identical layers, I then flipped one and lined it up to look like a reflection and then I turned the opacity down to make it look a little realistic. I hope you like it.

The evening of December 5th, 2008 produced perhaps the most spectacular sunset Seattle has ever seen. A heavy onshore flow produced multiple stacks of lenticular clouds over all of the big Cascade Volcanoes from Rainier at least as far south as Mount Hood (maybe over Glacier Peak too, but I couldn't see it). As the sun set, the sky exploded in the most vivid reds and pinks I have ever personally witnessed. The color you see in this image has not been manipulated at all, there has been no boost in the saturation or hues and there has been no adjustment of the white balance of the image. This is really what it looked like that evening.

The picture itself is a composite of two frames taken about half an hour apart. One exposure for the incredible color in the sky, and another to capture the buildings with the lights on in a dark enough setting that they would stand out against the background. Processed independently in Lightroom, merged in Photoshop.

A Cresent moon falls as the colors from sunset still linger in the sky. Seattle seems so small tucked below the Olympic Mountains.

Our Seattle Seahawks play later today and the beautiful Seattle Space Needle is proudly flying the 12th Man flag.

It was wonderful seeing great friends Andre, Donia, Gary, Marcus and Howard and standing in the freezing temps while still dark out, waiting to see this gorgeous city. :)
