Thanks to my buddy B rad for reminding me of this occasion. We mobbed down to Alki for some moon photography. This is a blended photo I made from two expsoures. I have a few single exposures and some where the moon is framed just perfectly between the buildings but to be honest this was my favorite. Something about the partial moon always gets me.

My own take on the classic signature shot of the downtown skyline of Seattle, Washington looking southeast.

This took some work. I put a tin cookie lid up to my computer screen to create the line to make my circle even. lol yes really a tin cookie lid! I scaled the moon to 30% from a 300mm zoom shot. See my previous shot to see actual moon size in this scene. Composites are fun
The skyline of Seattle, Washington with the Interstate 5 (I-5) freeway cutting through downtown looking northwest.
Summer came and went so quickly...

I rarely take selfies but this had to be done. Maybe if I dressed up like Peter Pan and photo shopped Tinker bell into the scene? haha
This is the last image I'm going to share from my Sunday Piroshky trip. If you haven't tried a salmon piroshky then I suggest making the trip. It would also be cool to take a photo of the gum wall looking clean!! I wonder who the first person to stick a new piece of gum on the cleaned wall will be??!!? ;-)
Haven't even had time to look back on 2015. One of the best years so far. I can't wait to see what 2016 brings.
Taking Aurora for an evening drive to the town. But first we had to watch this epic sunset over the city.

looking west from the Seattle-Bainbridge ferry, heading back to Seattle. I have totally loved these ferries since I was a kid!
The pier, Seattle WA
While waiting for the Piroshky to cook I saw some sights. And I also had a chance to play in some puddles.
My own take on the classic signature shot of the downtown skyline of Seattle, Washington with Mount Rainier on the right-hand side looking southeast.

Met up with my buddy James at the park. He mentioned he moved close by and didn't have a car at the moment. I arrived just as the sun was reaching the horizon and James was already lost in the crowd. Luckily he saved me a spot with a good angle, so thanks to him. I also saw some local celebrities and other photographers I know. It was great shooting along side such talented shooters. And after all the moaning and whining I heard I actually liked the outcome of the night. Keeper for sure;-)
As for the photo, I did do some work to achieve this look. In total I used four exposures. One photo for the sunset, one for the city lights, one for the ferry on the water and the last one for the lucky 12 flag I got on one of my shots, score;-) Manually blending them in photoshop is getting quite easy these days, the algorithm seems self aware!! Haha. Thanks for looking:-)
Seattle, Washington
This is a spot I've had to come back to. To get the shot I wanted I needed to get super wide! I'm still not 100% on it and may try the fisheye!
Decided last minute to chase some wolf I heard about. Found it lurking in the Emerald City;-)
Seattle, Washington
Can we get another pedestrian bridge but with a conveyor belt so I can scroll through instagram and cross without running into anybody?
They had just locked the doors to the balcony. I took a few photos and made my way up. Usually most of the workers for the offices are out by 5 but it's been a busy week. I'm surprised they've gotten used to seeing my up there already, I for sure thought I looked homeless;-)
When sunrise is so good you hit three different spots because you're greedy;-)
We started up in magnolia to catch the early burn. After seeing that Rainier was fully out we rushed over to Kerry park to collect a quick burn and say "Hi" to the other hopefuls. After the burn started to fade from the East, we decided to head East and shoot West looking towards the olympics.
Let's just say we bowled a turkey that day;-)
Seattle, WA
Another crazy sky from my favorite view of the city. Practicing some long exposures on solid ground.
The city of Seattle, on Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest, is surrounded by water, mountains and evergreen forests, and encompasses thousands of acres of parkland (hence its nickname, "Emerald City"). It’s home to a thriving tech industry, with Microsoft and Amazon.com headquartered in its metropolitan area. The futuristic Space Needle, a legacy of the 1962 World’s Fair, is its most recognizable landmark.
Took this picture Sunday after church at the top of the parking garage, park and ride , in Bellevue next to BCC. This is just east of Seattle, Washington looking west. I think it is Beacon Hill in the foreground and the skyscrapers of the city are sticking up just behind it. It's been so gray and cloudy lately this was the first interesting sky that I have been out and seen in quite a while.
Ok actually just the City of Seattle;-)
This is a pretty dope spot during the day, especially if you can catch the sun peaking from a building as the monorail zooms by. But at night is when the street really comes alive. A friend and I were doing some exploring and happen to be nearby. I said "just walk in like we own the place". The gate guards didn't even notice us on the way in. We got our shots and chatted with the guy already photographing the spot. Great minds think alike right? On our way out the gate guards locked eyes on us probably wondering what we were doing up there.... up to no good...
After the cleanup I was scoping out a few spots but made my way to the bridge for sunset. I looked around but didn't recognize anyone. I managed to get some tourist to pose for a shot I wanted (see previous post) and that's when a man who was also there asked if I was me. He introduced himself and I finally got to put a face on a fellow Flickr user. Cool running into you Rick!
This photo has been photoshopped quite a bit. To a seasoned rizal shooter the details are easily noticed. Look at an image from here from your files, if you have one, and count how many light posts are missing;-)
I've been trying my best to get the one shot process down. I've blended and merged photos before but find the most enjoyment when I get what I imagined in a single exposure. With the technology in cameras today, what used to take multiple exposures can now be done with a single shot and some post processing. I've gotten some weird reactions to this on social media; "pretentious"? no, just lazy! lol
Taken outside of the Seattle Convention Center at Freeway Park....the white streaks you see is snowfall.
Added to EXPLORE for Feb 10th 2009. Highest position: #104
This is a hand held, 3 exposure, -2, 0 +2, HDR tonemapped with Photomatix Pro and PhotoShop Elements 3.
Stopped by Kerry park yesterday to grab this shot of Jay Buhner raising a 24 flag in honor of Ken Griffey Jr. being inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame. Growing up with parents both being Seattle sports fans I was big into Griffey when I was growing up. The jerseys, the posters, the rookie cards! I loved 'The Kid', I was a true fan and still feel good everytime I see his smile. Congrats!
Another photo from the archives I forgot to touch. This was an epic night to be on the tower. 360 sunset and it burned all night!
I've visited this spot a few times but am never satisfied. I think its the light posts. Maybe a pano shot would help.
One last stop Saturday night. The clouds had packed up and went away. With the moon shining so bright I was shocked when I noticed the stars in post. I layered 30 images together to make this photo.
With all this wildfire haze I've been spending time going through old photos. This was taken soon after I upgraded my camera body. Back when the sunrises looked awesome more often than not. I need to start doing more sunrise photography.
So... this scene started innocently. Cydd had never been to the devPose shop ....and she wanted to check out some of the animations... but, feck if I can remember how we got to the bondage bedroom setup. Cydd was already wearing this... so, erm... I dressed to match.... and ...we started a photo shoot. hehehehe. Was a blast. Luv ya Cyddie! ^.^
