This is a new bird for me to added to my photo stream. This was a little hard to photograph in this little thicket and I wish it would have move to a area of the bush that was open, but no luck this time. Now that I know an area I'll start staking it out more often.
The Eastern Phoebe generally perches low in trees or on fencelines. Phoebes are very active, making short flights to capture insects and very often returning to the same perch. They make sharp “peep” calls in addition to their familiar “phoebe” vocalizations. When perched, Eastern Phoebes wag their tails down and up frequently.
On my only morning visit to this cavity, she was staring for a prolonged period at something below, but I could see nothing.

Wikipedia: The eastern bluebird (Sialia sialis) is a small North American migratory thrush found in open woodlands, farmlands, and orchards. It is found east of the Rockies, southern Canada to the Gulf states, and southeastern Arizona to Nicaragua. The increase in trees throughout the Great Plains during the past century due to fire suppression and tree planting facilitated the western range expansion of the species. as well as range expansions of many other species of birds.
Conservation status: Least Concern

Finally, after around 10 tries over the last year and a half, little Screechie was at home and visible when I came for a visit.

This Eastern Swallowtail Butterfly had some nice backlight on it as it supped on this flower. You don't normally think of using your telezoom for macro work, but I wanted to get close to the insects visiting these flowers. I believe I also used an extension tube as well to reduce the minimum focus distance.
Taken 23 August 2016 at Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, Maryland.
