CRANBROOK is a city in southeast British Columbia, Canada, located on the west side of the Kootenay River at its confluence with the St. Mary's River, It is the largest urban centre in the region known as the East Kootenay. Originally inhabited by Ktunaxa peoples, the land that Cranbrook now occupies was bought by European settlers, notably Colonel James Baker who named his newly acquired land Cranbrook after his home in Cranbrook, Kent, England. In 1898, Baker had successfully convinced Canadian Pacific Railway to establish their Crowsnest Pass line through Cranbrook rather than nearby Gold Rush Boom Town Fort Steele. With that accomplishment Cranbrook became the major centre of the region, while Fort Steele declined; however, the latter is today a preserved heritage town. On November 1, 1905, Cranbrook was incorporated as a city.
The largest community within a 50 mile [80 km] radius of Ryan, British Columbia is Cranbrook. It is located about 28 miles [45 km] to the northeast of Ryan.
Cranbrook Post Office was established - 1 July 1886; closed - 1 July 1892. When a townsite was laid out in 1897 the name of Cranbrook was chosen for the settlement; Cranbrook Post Office re-opened - 1 September 1898.

Un dels serveis entre Paris gare de Lyon y Perpinya realizat pel duplex 251.
Uno de los servicios entre Paris gare de Lyon y Perpignan realizado por el dúplex 251.
Como cada año, a final de año suelo marcarme un viaje de esos intensos para despedir el año ferroviariamente hablando, este año tocaba visitar Madrid, Cotos, Barcelona, Portbou/Cerbere y Perpignan junto a dos muy buenos colegas de fatigas ferrovarias.
En la foto vemos al TGV Duplex 803 recién bajado del depósito para atender el servicio TGV 6216 a Paris-Gare de Lyon, toda una pasada de vehículo, que hasta ahora en España no he podido fotografiar pero si ver en la estación de Sants y que la verdad no me corre prisa alguna, ya habrá tiempo para ello, de momento aquí os dejo la penúltima foto del año en flickr.

This was shot for the owner for short term rental purposes. The key challenge was to capture in one shot how the lounge, dining area and kitchen all relate, whilst showing the terrace. The picture is a composite of 5-6 layers, each individually lit with a Profoto B1.

Morning sunshine glows through these hollow breakers, revealing the jade color of the coastal North Atlantic. The waves were pushed in by an offshore storm, and lifted by a shallow bar and a stiff westerly breeze.
