A tractor-trailer dump truck unloads sand at a concrete mixing plant in the port area of Bamberg on one of our many partly cloudy, mildly stormy days. Cropped at top to 16:10. A test shot with this newly-acquired Sigma 12-24mm lens (incorrect EXIF lens ID). This photo was not authorized by Schwenk Baustoffe GmbH (Schwenk Construction Materials Inc.). In fact, two young supervisors (or security staff) in yellow vests questioned me about being on the premises before I left. [SNY08236_lr_2000]

The waste dump Hoheward is a mountain waste dump in the Ruhr area. She originated from the earth of the bill Recklinghausen II, the bill to Ewald and the bill general Blumenthal / Haard. Lying between the cities of Herten and Recklinghausen, she forms together with the waste dump Hoppenbruch the biggest waste dump scenery of the Ruhr area. The highest place of the waste dump is reached with a height of 152.5 m above sea level. The waste dumps Hoheward and Hoppenbruch are a part of the route of the industrial culture and the scenery park Hoheward. Owner of both waste dumps is the regional association of Ruhr which has taken over the surfaces from the Deutschen Steinkohle AG. As a project bearer he is responsible for the removal of the waste dump Hoheward. With good view the Rhine tower about 50 km away is to be recognised in Dusseldorf.

I just managed a shot of this as I was going by. I was the passenger yet I like to catch these on the fly.
Happy Truck tHuRsDay
one of the many pre 2010 sights in Florida that halted when the balloon burst. Love this aged look of this Volvo truck.
It just doesn’t seem right to have to pay for dirt. I do like these big dump trucks though. The small center wheels are frequently off the ground when the truck dumps a load. Then they are back on the ground when they are driving. HTT
The NYS&W Utica Branch rehabilitation project is in full swing two years after acquiring the line from Conrail. Here we find a single Alco C430 #3002 behind the Veterans Home at Oxford, NY dropping ballast that came straight from the Barretts quarry near Cassville, NY that I wrote about in yesterday's post.
Three SD40-2's lead their 40 car ballast train north through Port Henry, dumping all 40 cars to Westport.
CN 3023 leads train 302 through Copetown on a lovely sunny June morning.
I did not expect to get this train as I was helping a friend move a truckload of trash to our local dump...however we got loaded up quick enough and took the scenic route to the transfer station to snag the J leading.
Here is a clear case where I think Infra Red is a superior option than either straight black and white or colour. The car itself is not that old, although it appears to have been dumped here for at least a few months. Sadly, probably another victim of "joyriding" car theft. At least they didn't burn it out, which is the usual practice by these hooligans. And it appears to have been stripped of its valuables, including the engine.
Cleaning up my processed but unpublished images from the year. My first "December Dump" to start 2023 with all new stuff.
Trillium RS18U works Dunn Paper in the sunlight of a blustery day. People taking advantage of an old rail line to be a dump site in the industrial area.
DM&IR 404 and 406 lead a Thunderbird crude ore train through the dumping pocket at United Taconite's Fairlane processing plant.
This section of the Bruce Trail and also part of the Bruce Peninsula National Park is called Halfway Log Dump.
